Review: Sounder is a good book for people who like animals or dogs. My opinion about this book is a very sad book, because the father has been put to jail because of stealing food for his family and Sounder got injured for saving his father. At the end when the father and Sounder came back the father almost die. This book is absolutely a sad book.

Summary: Sounder was a great book!
Review: It was about a boy that was in a very poor family. His dad owned a dog named Sounder. The boy loved Sounder. Sounder and his family were the only thing he had.His family had very little food but these were not all of his problems. His dad was caught stealing a pig and was dragged off to jail on a wagon. Sounder was chasing his master down the road when an officer on the wagon shot Sounder.

Review: The book Sounder was a great book! You could always understand what was happening when and where. There were not a lot of pictures but the one that were drawn in the book were beautiful. They looked like they were taken by a camera and then transferred into the book. If I could I would give a book to each person and let them read it and let them tell their opinion about the book.

Summary: I enjoyed reading this book.
Review: I liked this book,but it made me feel sad. Sounder is about a poor black sheercropper and his family. The father steals a ham to feed his family. When the sheriff comes to arrest the man,his dog Sounder gets shot and runs away. The boy and his mother wait for both of them to come home. This book describes in detail the hardships they go through. I recommend this book to others to enjoy!

Review: The reason I didn't like the book is because it was very sad.The reason I liked the book is because it has more detail than other books! It explains things better than other books! I always thought the book would end up happily but instead it ended up sad.

Review: I give Sounder a # 10 because it has a lot action and alot of sad parts, especially when the dog gets shot and the boy's father get sent to jail for stealing a ham. This book is as real as life gets!

Summary: This book has alot of feeling and is sad.
Review: Like I said in my first sentence this book has alot of feeling and is very sad. I liked this book alot, but for an average person it might make them cry. You see in the beginning the boy's father was arrested for stealing and when they were taking him off the dog stated to bark so the depudy shot him now the dog was not killed but it lost a lim an eyeboll and some of his skin was torn off. While the father was away at the prison there was an avalanche and a boulder fell on him and he became crippled. By the end of the book when his father came home he soon died along with the dog. Now this may sound like a horrible story but the writter really gets you into the book and makes it like you are really there. So I do recommend reading this book!

Review: I wouldn't give this book a 10 because it was hard to read and nobody had names except the dog {Sounder} I read this in 6th grade and I am still in 6th grade. I also saw the movie Sounder in English and the book was better. I hope you will read this if you are an animal lover and have a box of tissues ready!

Review: I liked this book because it was very sad and expressed many feelings.I read this book for a book report book and I loved it out of all of the books I have read so far!SOUNDER is a very good book for people who like to read very good and expressive books.IN OTHER WORDS I TOTALLY LOVED THIS BOOK!The end was very sad ,but I still liked the book. The boy in the story is very amazing. He wanted to go to school to read and he reached his achievement by conquering all of the opsticles. Well, that's all I have to say and BYE,BYE! :)

Review: This is the story of a boy who has the responsibility of taking care of his Mother and siblings when the Father is arrested for stealing food for his hungry family. The devoted and loving family dog, Sounder, misses the Father very much and motivates the boy to search for the missing man.This story tells of the conflict within the boy between going to school; and working to take care of his family and to search for his father. This is a must read for middle and upper graders. It is a fine read-aloud book for parents and teachers. written by Bob Townsend
