Summary: Sounder
Review: ( Tracey Lockhart)Sounder was an interesting, heart-touching book. The book goes back in time about a family who had a dog named Sounder and sadly when the father is being taken away by the sheriff the dog gets shot an runs off. The mother says he has run off to die. I would recommend this book to fifth-eighth graders because only they can see the care and worry in this book. The author of this wounderful book is William H. Armstrong

Review: The book Sounder by William H. Armstrong is about a dog named Sounder and a boy. It was both happy and depressing. I felt sorry for what happens to the dog. I was sad when the father has to steal a ham to feed his family. I think this book is very good!

Summary: A book about a dog and a boy
Review: The book Sounder, by William H. Armstroung, has taught me some things about how it was back when there was separation between white and black people. This book was suspensful, good and had exciting cliff hangers. My favorite part was when Sounder comes back. I'm not going to give the story away so that's all I will tell you!

Summary: Opinion from a fifth grader
Review: I think Sounder by William H. Armstong is a very good book if you want to cry. In the story there is an Arfican American family. They are starving and the father of 4 is forced to steal. After a day the Sheriff discovers that the father stole so he goes to put the father behind bars. The family's great coon dog,Sounder, barks his loud bark and the sheriff shoots Sounder. The oldest child runs out to help Sounder but he has to go inside. The dog crawls away. Will the family ever see each other again? If you want to know you must read the book.
