Rating: Summary: Great prelude to a wonderful series Review: This is the first Star Wars book I've read since the Timothy Zahn's Thrawn Trilogy. I wasn't expecting the rich plot put forth by Zahn (which I didn't find here), but I was surprised at Stackpole's knowledge of the Star Wars universe (especially the inside of an X-Wing cockpit)- must be from his work with LucasArts. I also liked the character development. Corran Horn is someone that any ordinary reader could step into and relate with. Gavin Darklighter brings back a blast from the past (e.g. Biggs). And Kirtan Loor is the type of mealyfaced villian that you love to hate. Many good things happening in this book. A wonderful fast-paced read. I hope the rest are as good. . .
Rating: Summary: Great fun for all Rebel pilots.... Review: Man, I was blown away by all of the seven X-wing books. They were all great, but Stackpole did a much better job with the stories. Allston added a bit more humor, but I like Stackpole's way of describing the battlefields and and fighters. It was all great fun though. I definitely suggest you buy all seven of these books, and any SW book you can get your hands on, except for those pathetic Young Jedi books. Anyway, if anyone who reads this has any questions about SW, e-mail me. I love trying to answer those questions.May the Force be with you.
Rating: Summary: Stackpole is doin' it again Review: Stackpole masterfully unfolds a story that will get even the least of Star Wars fans hooked from the start. The story mixes action and emotions together to make a teeeeerrrrriiffiicc book!
Rating: Summary: Stackpole's a Genius!! Review: I am currently reading Solo Command, book #7 of the X Wing series. Michael Stackpole's a genius, I luv book 1 to 4, but sad to say his only mistake was handing the writing duties over to Aaron Allston. I'm not saying Aaron can't write, but after book 5(Wraith Squadron) and 6(Iron Fist), I feel so lazy to read book 7(Solo Command). The story isn't even near the excitement book 1 to 4 delivers. There's no climax to the ending, and Aaron drags the storyline so long that a simple commando mission will take over 30 pages to finish. What a bore. I'm only reading book 7 because Michael will be the author of book 8 and according to him it's already finished. I can't wait! Finally some proper english, and some genius in the x wing storyline.
Rating: Summary: Action-packed Review: This book is crammed full of space dogfights, which is the first thing people think of when they think of Star Wars. Corran Horn is an awsome character,Michal Stackpole is a vivid writer.
Rating: Summary: Super !!! Review: I was hooked from the first page. I am thinking about buying all the other X-wing books.
Rating: Summary: An awesome book no Star Wars fan will want to miss! Review: This is a great spellbinding book that anyone, even non Star Wars fans will enjoy. It writes out dogfights s[ectacularly!
Rating: Summary: Very well written Star Wars novel. Must read for any fan. Review: The discriptions are supurb and the character developement is also very in-depth.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: This book was very good, with a ton of battles. There were a few boring chapters with Kirtan Loor, but still it was a good book.
Rating: Summary: Best Star Wars book ever! Review: If your even a S.W. fan to the smallest degree, YOU WILL LOVE THIS BOOK. But be forwarned, if you read this book, you will become a HUGE Wegde Antillies fan. Stackpole is by far the greatest SW author ever. He is very descriptive though the whole book, but more so during the dogfight scenes in the X-wings. You can fly an X-wing without any previous training. Great Book!!!
