Rating: Summary: Tragedy at a young age Review: My book is about a girl names Cassie. The sad thing about this book is that it is based on a real story written by a real mother of a Columbine student. This mother's daughter was a victim in the 1999 Columbine tragedy at the age of 18. In the beginning the book describes what had happened on the morning before the accident. It also decribes how the two boys attacked the students and teachers they had despised for such a long time... Personally my favorite part of this book is when Cassie tried to stop the boys...It truly touched me. She was the only soul brave enough to challenge the boys when there were still boys and teachers inside the building. My favorite character in this book is ofcourse Cassie. Well that's obvious because she was so brave fighting for her life and the others around her...
Rating: Summary: she said yes Review: My book review is on the book called "she said yes". This book was very good because of the description that it gave about the problems the girl had. It talks about how the girl had overcome pressures of her friends and becoming a christian. It also desribes what her parents and brother went through. And I think a good book does need description in it, and this book does. I give this book 5 stars for the description of the book and the ability to overcome of peer pressure.
Rating: Summary: She Said Yes Review: Cassie Rene Bernall was born November 6, 1981. She has a younger brother, Chris, and two adoring parents, Misty and Brad. The first time her parents saw her, they immediatley fell in love with their new-born. She lived a fun and emotional child-hood. Together with her parents she faced scraped knees, broken bones, and a variety of new pets. When she became a teenager, things started to go wrong. Cassie started falling into the wrong crowd. She and her "friends" smoked weed, vandalized, became suicidal, and depressed. Cassie felt held-back by her parents and soon started despizing them. Later, hateful letters were found suggestion murder and Misty and Brad decided to transfer Cassie to another school. This was a private school, and Cassie hated it. But she soon became friends with Jamie, an alternitive type girl with a big Christian heart. She soon started to tell Cassie about the Lord and his power, and it was not long before she asked her to join her on a youth church retreat up to the mountains. When Brad and Misty came to pick her up, she had totally changed. She embraced her mother in her arms for the first time in years and said, "I've changed". Soon after that she became a loving, caring, highly religious girl and was nice to others. Her mom and dad decided to let her out of the Christian school and let her back in a different public school. There she made new friends who loved very much, but she never forgot Jamie. One horrific Tueday, April 20, 1999, two kids came and brought guns to school, and started shooting kids and teens as if it were a game. They cornered Cassie and a group of her freinds in a library. They went to Cassie first and asked her, "Do you believe in God?" She answered, "yes." They asked her why but before she could answer they shot her in the head. This book reflects memories of her life. My favorite part in the book was a chapter called "reflections". This chapter was quotes and thoughts about what they really thought of Cassie and she changed their lives; none of the comments were negative.
Rating: Summary: READ IT! READ IT! Review: I think SHE SAID YES was a wonderful book that is impossible to put down. This nonfiction book really catches the readers' attention. I think even if you're not very emotional this book will make you feel a variety of different emotions. You could feel sad, mad, and in one chapter grossed out! I really recommend this book to people. Even if you are not a big time reader, you might change your mind after you read this book. This book is an AMAZING book. Please find the time to read it!!!
Rating: Summary: My Views on the book She said yes. Review: I think that it was a beautifully written book with an insperational touch. It made me think about what I would do if someone held a gun to my head and asked me the same question and come to think of it I think that I would have said the same thing that Cassie did. I could not imagine what my parents would do if something like that had ever happened to me but I do know that they would have been very proud of me to say yes even if I knew that something bad was going to happen to me! I don't know how you could get through that type of trama. I would like it if more people would write more books on there in school expeirences. Just reading this one book makes me want to buy more. I want to thank you hole-heartedly for publishing this book. Thank you!!!!
Rating: Summary: Saying Yes Review: A few days ago my friend recomended me this book and I was really interested in reading about. The book is about a familys struggle at the lose of their daughter. Not knowing much about Colombine I was very interested in finding more out about it. This story teaches you that through all your struggles in life God is always there for you and you can always be closer to God. This is what Cassie learns arter leading her life in the wrong path. It is never to late to believe in God!
Rating: Summary: Real life story Review: This book was very touching being the fact that it recounts the heart warming tale of a troubled teenager. Many teens who may read this book might be sharing the same expreince that Cassie once had. Cassie's brave mother,Misty, who is also the author, really hit close to the hearts of many. I recomend this book to teens everywhere.
Rating: Summary: Real Faith Review: I think that Cassie showed that just because a Christian struggles, it doesn't mean that one does not truely want to live for Christ. It is an easy book to read that the reader can not put down.
Rating: Summary: A great story, by and unlikely author Review: I couldn't put the book down! it was great, it was a quick read, so it was nice. I think a lot of poeple i would bet have a siminlar testimony to eitheir Cassie, or her family. Maybe not the same conditions, but the stuggling and loss of hope, and or faith. Cassie's story is a great story that gives the desire to change and to stand up. A quote in the book i really like was" It is better to die for something you believe in, than to live a lie". the only reason i say it is by an unlikly author was because of the fact that it was written by her mother, Misty, and from what i could tell, Cassie was not all that close to her Mother, but other than that, This was a great book and i would recomend it to anyone who is wondering about Cassie's life, faith, or just a good book.
Rating: Summary: a shameful, revolting waste of paper Review: cassie bernall's parents should be ashamed for even allowing this book to be printed, let alone being involved in writing it. and kudos to them for putting their daughters' face in a target on the front cover. touching tribute.
