Rating: Summary: A great book, but didn't sparkle in every page Review: She Said Yes is written very well, and tells an UNBELIEVABLE story of Cassie Bernal, a girl who was killed in the Columbine Massacre. Cassie's life was truly full of things, and for a majority of the book, I didn't want to put it down. Just as Cassie's life was turned around, the unthinkable happened... she was killed in Columbine. No, I didn't give away the ending. The true sparkle is what Cassie went through in life. I gave it only 4 stars because I beleive that there wasn't the sparkle in every page. I admit, I must have skipped a chapter because I could've slept through it, but I still urge you to read this book.
Rating: Summary: She Said Yes-Review Review: This book told the story of the events of a student at Columbine High School, who died that day. The book has given inspiration to a lot of people who have read it. It shows how people who have gotten in to trouble in their lives can turn them around. The girl in the story did just that, she made her life better and she died because of her beliefs. It is such a sad story. It was a good book and give you a different view on life.
Rating: Summary: Not Only the Positive, but also the Negative Review: First of all, I highly recomend this book to Christians and non Christians. This book shows how Cassie went from being a bad girl to being a God loving teenager. Also, this book is for teenages of all races, religions, and backrounds. It may just help you find your path in life. It helped me to relize how much my faith means to me...
Rating: Summary: She said nothing, welcome to reality Review: Not only didn't she say "yes", she wasn't even asked the question claimed. Sweep it under the rug all you want. If Misty Bernall didn't want all the media attention, why did she write a book and then hit the talk show circuit? If she is such a devout Christian, why did she make the title of her book a statement she knew was a lie? I don't suppose she knew it would sell a lot of books.Wondering why people in these reviews are focusing on the fact that Cassie didn't say "yes" (or anything else)? The word you seek is "hypocrisy". Misty Bernall would do well to spend some of her new found wealth from exploiting a tragedy to buy a dictionary so she can look it up.
Rating: Summary: Her Mark on the World Review: Wow! What a refreshingly honest book about a real teenager. Without reading any of the jacket of the book and from what I had heard about Cassie Bernall and her final words, I was truly taken aback by the real Cassie. I had expected a novel about a devote Christian that was a role model to her peers and gave her final witness during a horrifying incident at her high school. What I found instead was a very troubled young girl with very real teen issues yet a heartwarming struggle to gain peace with herself and within her family. I believe Cassie to share common attributes with many teens. At times, I was shocked at things her parents had found and I wondered to myself why Cassie would have been chosen to leave such a mark on the world. Though she had some different outlets for her frustration and feelings there is not one teen who has not had some of the same arguments with their parents and didn't take avenues that she did to outlet her feelings. However, the mark Cassie has left on the world has more to do with redemption than perfection. What surprised me the most were the few uncaring things that have been done and said during the aftermath of Columbine. After all that the families have gone through there is still anger and hatred in a town that I would think should have pulled together and protected their wounded and grieving. Comments from surviving high school students and Cassie's peers showed that much hasn't changed on the surface of a community which seems to judge much on appearances and have a complicated social order. An interesting portion of the book was the letter written to the Bernall family from the parents of one of the killers. While seeming to lack much I'm sure it was a difficult letter to both send and receive. I would recommend this book to any teenager or parent going through the inevitable tough times in their relationship. It certainly helps you put a perspective on your own parent/child relationship and even helps you to focus on the importance of repairing and maintaining that important bond. Like Cassie, you never know when you might have to be ready to go and if you live your life as if you're ready to go at a moments notice then you too will leave your own mark on the world.

Rating: Summary: She Said Yes--A true touching story Review: I read a book titled She said Yes. This book was about a teenage girl's life and her struggles with her parents. It was also about how her life changed around and how she started to believe in God. Her name was Cassie Bernal, and she was killed during the Columbine shooting on April 20th, 1999. Her mom, Misty Bernall, who was also the author of this book, writes about the tragedy that haunted us all. Teachers, parents, and even kids dreaded the day when this horrible accident happened. She also interviewed many of Cassie's past life friends and people. Misty Bernall added many personal things into this book such as the way Cassie acted before she experienced Christian school. She also put how you should always pick the right groups to hang out with and how Cassie picked the wrong group to hang with that pressured her to take drugs and murder her parents. After she goes to Christian school, her whole life turns around and she turns good. That just shows you how much of an influence God can have on your life. My favorite part of this book was when Cassie stood up to the shooters by saying that she believed in God at a time of crisis like that with dignity and faith. She stood up for what she believed and went for it. I was truly touched and astonished that she could stick up for herself at such a pressuring moment like so. I recommend this book to anyone of all ages. This is truly a touching and interesting book. I couldn't put it down for a minute. This book had me hooked for every second. I was mostly very surprised that she was so bad and turned out so good. I would say that Misty Bernall is a very inspiring writer when it comes to something so intense and touching especially for her.
Rating: Summary: I say yes to the book "She Said Yes!" Review: This book is about a 17-year-old girl, named Cassie, who was shot in the tragedy at Columbine High School. Cassie was a very troubled teen. She wrote notes to her friends about killing her parents and doing drugs and drinking. She even gave her heart to the devil. Some of the other reviewers said that they think that she saying yes to the question "Do you believe in God" is not really what the book it about. But I think it is! I think it is about her saying yes to turning her life around! Her saying yes to giving her heart to God and worshiping him! I think that this book was very challenging to read. Challenging because it reminds us to live life to its fullest. To live life like it is the last day of your life! It reminds us of all of the important people that are in our life! Cassie was faced with many of the problems that most teens face today. She was lured into peer pressure. But because her family and friends loved her so much they tried to help her. Her parents were very strict, but if they weren't as strict as they were she would not have turned her life around. I would have to say that I am proud of all of the people that helped Cassie get through the very tough time in her life. My favorite part of this book is when her friend invited her to go to a church convention. Her parents didn't want her to go because her parents thought that she would just run away. But in the end they let her go! This part of the book is where she turned her life around! She found out there, that through all of your troubles in life God is always there for you and you can trust Him and turn to Him! Another thing I really like about this book is that it is written by Cassie's mother! And I love how she has other people talk in the book so we can also see how Cassie was in other people's eyes. I hope you say yes to the book "She said yes!"
Rating: Summary: My Thoughts On She Said Yes Review: My thoughts on She said Yes She said Yes was a book about a teenage girl's life and her struggle with her parents. It was also about how she changed her life around and believed in God. Her name was Cassie Bernal, and she was killed at Columbine High School on April 20th, 1999. Her mom (Misty Bernal) writes about their struggle as parents to turn Cassie around and how her death affected her life. She also interviewed many people for the book. The book is not so much about the shooting, but more about her life and how she gave her heart to God. I thought this was a very inspirational book!!!!!!! I was reading some other reviews and they thought that this book was not about saying yes, but it really was. She said yes because she turned her life around and believed in God. Most of the story was about turning her life around!! I was very surprised that she was so bad and turned out so good. That just shows you how much of an influence God can have on your life! And that anyone can turn his or her life around! I thought that Cassie's parents should not have been in her room rummaging through her personal items, but if they would have never done that then they would probably never know what Cassie was really like. I thought that her parents were strict, but if they weren't then she would have never changed, and you would have had to be strict in order for a girl like that to listen. My favorite part of the book was when she went to that Youth Group weekend get away with her friend Jamie. That was my favorite part because that is when she really turned her life around and realized that she wasn't happy and that God was a great person and that he really could help her! There was nothing that I didn't like about this book ! It was very well written and got a very good message across. I thought that it taught the reader a lesson, a lesson on life and how to live it to the fullest because you never know what will happen. I loved how there were excerpts in the book from books that Cassie highlighted lines from. The one that really touched me was, "Seek until you find, and don't give up. Pray, too, even if you think you don't believe, because God hears even the 'unbeliever' as she groans. God will help you through. Don't give up, and above all, avoid the temptations that distract you from what you know you really long for. If you do fall, pick yourself up again and get back on track." I really liked that because that's really what the story is about, Cassie picking herself up and starting a new life, and that's why she said yes.
Rating: Summary: The Event That Shocked Us All Review: A compelling story about Cassie Bernall, one of the twelve devastated ones who died at the Columbine High School shooting, caused by 2 teenagers ... Written by the victim's mother, it tells of the life of Cassie, the young senior who died because of answering a question asked by one of the murderers. To my surprise, they asked her if she believed in God. Her answer, so direct and serious, was yes. This answer, only one word it was, caused her her life, but it did indeed repay her with the respect from millions around the world. This non-fiction story is not one that a reader can simply read and enjoy. It talks about the complications of the author's daughter and herself, told through both the mother's thoughts and feelings. One who has past away cannot be easily mention about quickly, especially to the public. Yet, Misty Bernall expresses herself, through pain and sorrow, about the complexities she has had before and after the death of her daughter. Because of her openness to the public about Cassie, I found the book very heartbreaking and remarkable. A story so powerful, I would have to say that the book is indescribable. Not one word can be used to describe how I felt as the reader, when I finished reading the book. It was a mixture of sorrow and happiness, for Misty Bernall told an extraordinary tale of Cassie. Through her mother's words, Cassie taught me a great lesson: taking sacrifices could cause you your life, but your devoted faith shall always remain and never be lost.
