Summary: Very sad!
Review: Near the beginning it was interesting but also very sad. As it got into the later chapters it was hard to get into. I didn't even finish the book because it was boring near the end. The only interesting part was the first couple of chapters. Definitely not on my list of recommended books!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: loved this book
Review: I read the book She said yes! I loved it. I felt like I was feeling what they were feeling. Every time I looked back on this book I kept thinking "how could someone do something like that." The book She said yes is about the Columbine school that was attacked by two student shooters. It's about a girl; named Cassie Bernall who was a victim. She was asked if she believed in god by the two shooters. She said yes without knowing if she would be killed! She stood up for her religion and died in honor. And to me that takes guts! Her family and friends told this story about her, and her life. I loved this book! It was a good example to everyone out there, and I recommend you to read it!

Summary: Moving, brutally honest tale
Review: Heard the taped version of SHE SAID YES, written and read by
Misty Bernall . . . she is the mother of Cassie Bernall, the 17-year-old junior at Columbine High School who when confronted by her killers, said "Yes" she believed in God.

Consequently, Cassie became recognized by many as a
martyr . . . yet what I liked so much about her story is its
brutal honesty . . . her mother pointed out that only toward
of her life had Cassie begun to turn things around . . . previously, she had lived a troubled life that included drugs and constant battles with her parents.

This is a moving story about growing up in the 90s that is
still relevant today . . . it presents a vivid picture of peer
pressure, adolescent turmoil and the touch choices that
parents make.

At times, it moved me to tears . . . I'd recommend it to any
mature teenager AND their parents.

Summary: dont read
Review: this book was, to put it nicely, horrible. i was forced to read it, and must say it was one of the worst books i have ever read. the only reason i think it has gotten good reviews is people feel sorry for those who died at columbine. i do to, even though countless children die each day, but that doesnt make this book worthwhile at all. im not even sure i believe this girl really "said yes" if you want to read a book about columbine there is another book about a girl who told the killers she believed in God. her name was rachel something and i thought it was much better. and if you want to read a book about teenage problems and overcoming them or whatever, there are SO many better books. its only good point was that it was a fairly fast read.

Summary: 13 year old
Review: She said yes by Misty Bernall is one of the sadest books I have ever read. Columbine high school in Colorado is where it all takes place. Cassie goes to school like normal and goes to the library when the gunmen come in. Before the gunmen take her life they ask her the most important question of all. When she says yes they blew her away. The author Misty Bernall is very appealiing to the senses. When she talked about the gunmen coming into the library, i could actually see that happening. The scene looked very real in my mind's eye. Anyone who is not afraid to cry over the events in the story should read it. I give this book 5 stars!

Summary: *~"She Said Yes," and changed many lives.!~*
Review: This is a book I recently picked up. Why? Being a Christian and hearing about the horrible things that took place. I heard about this girl, Cassie Bernell, who stood up for what she believed in.

With me being a STRONG Chirsitan, I loved this book. I recommend this book to everyone. I have told my friends about this book and have offered my book to them to read.

It has a description of what happened to Cassie inside that building. How the killers come in, what they said, what everyone said, and of course the two sentences that swept the nation.

Q: "Do you believe in God?"
A: " Yes!"

CHANGED MANY LIVES!!!

Summary: She Said Yes -- Will You?
Review: She Said Yes: The Unlikely Martyrdom of Cassie Bernall, written by Cassie's mother, Misty Bernell gives a eye opening account of the true of story of her daughters life, not just the "Yes" that spread through papers across the nation in a flash, there is more to the story. Cassie had a gloomy background containing satanic worship, drugs, alcohol, and obsessing with killing her parents. Later in her life she made a complete turnaround, renewing herself in Christ. It is at this stage in her life that she was murdered by the hand of one who, ironically, had a lot in common with Cassie's "old self." This book is Cassie's mother's account of her life, the good and the bad, the fear and the courage.
In the review of this book in Publishers Weekly on September 13, 1999, the reviewer shares many of my opinions of this book in that it is a powerful read. He explains how ironic it is that Cassie was murdered by someone who had many of the same feelings and thoughts that she had had earlier in her own life. He also addresses that thorough Family help, love, and example, any troubled teen can be helped. The reviewer then states that this is a book that reveals courage and honesty.
In the review from Publishers Weekly, the writer stresses and idea that is also heavily focused on in the book, the idea that any teen or any person, no matter how far from the word, can be brought back; whether it be through tough love, comfort and peace, or stricter rules and guidelines that are completely necessary for parents or guardians to succeed at the job which the Lord meant for them to have. I also agree with the reviewer's point that Cassie may not have been a Martyr, but she certainly died in the confidence of the Lord.
I would recommend this book to all teenagers, and to all parents of teens. This book caused me to reevaluate myself and the way that I look at life, and I believe it will do the same for any other reader. Through Misty Bernall's honest and heart felt writing about her daughters inspirational faith, I came to realize many things about my own personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and how I too, need to be ready to leave this earth at any moment. This book is a very interesting and heart-wrenching read.
