Summary: Hypocritic
Review: I have to say that the Columbine massacre was and still is a horrible tragedy. I can't even imagine what pain those affected went through.

However, I still fail to see what it is that so many people love in this book. I read it in one day, so it was still fresh in my mind when I finished and took time to reflect.

This book is written as a sympathy novel for those 'poor Christian matyrs' out there. I'll take this time to remind you that Christianity is the most wide spread religion on the planet and that it is also one of the most bloody.

Think about the bravery that all of those witches had to have when they were burned at the stake for believing in what they did. Or all the gays in the world that live through Hell everyday.

I don't know if this holds true in Colorado, but here in the Bible Belt, it takes real courage to NOT be Christian. If it was allowed, I'm sure all the kids in my school would have burned me alive by now. And I'm sure some of the teachers would have joined in, too.

This book wasn't terrible, I just find it to be hypocritical. Her mom was pretty biased too. Just though I'd throw that out at you.

Summary: Inspirational and Uplifting
Review: Wow! This is the first word that comes to mind about She Said Yes. This book really gets a person thinking. It is one thing to have faith, but truly believing is another. Cassie was willing to sacrifice everything for God. It really makes a person begin to think. Would I be willing to do that? This book is inspirational and uplifting. It was a reminder to me that we are living life for God not us. That is something we all tend to forget. All in all I think Cassie's story was one we should all look up to.

Summary: She Said Yes
Review: Misty Bernall's She Said Yes is a true story about her daughter, Cassie. Cassie is one of the many kids killed in the Columbine shooting. Many people know the story about Cassie and how she was asked by the killer if she believed in God and she said yes. This is where the title of the book came from. But, that's not what the story s mainly about. Cassie is a young girl having some very difficult problems in her life. Her parents are trying to help her so much but it seems to be getting worse. Mona, her best friend, doesn't seem to be helping either. She's getting into drugs and starts to think a lot about suicide.
It's a very sad book with a fascinating plot. You just can't put it down. Overall, I love the book! It's interesting and makes you really think hard about life. She said Yes is the winner of a 2000 Christopher Award! This book is probably for ages 13 and up, but it would affect teenagers the most. Especially if they're going through the same thing Cassie is. Misty Bernall is Cassie's mom and I think she did a great job telling a story about her daughter's tragic and inspiring life.

Summary: Student
Review: My response: I agree with Amazon.com. This book was very moving and shows how Misty deals with her daughter's death. Her life needed to be turned around from where she was headed. So she joined a church group. They helped her drastically in many different ways and she did not even realize it. I think Cassie was such a strong person to say yes. That must have been the most difficult decision in her life. And knowing that her answer meant life or death. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is willing to take a chance.

Summary: Dear Mrs. Bernall
Review: Cassie is such a brave teen for having standup to the gun point of two boys. I read this book, and it has even made me question myslef about what I would do in her situation. Cassie, an ordinary teen said Yes to God. Although she had a rough life, it ended surprisingly, and she made the best out of her last few years. Cassie as inspired me to be such a wonderful Catholic, and she has taught me to life Gods plan for us to the fullest.Sometimes, it may end when we least expect. I am thankfull for Cassie and Mrs Bernall for sharing her story with me. I am very proud to be enrolled in such a faith where anything is possible.

Summary: Brilliant example of Christian myth-making
Review: As a contemporary demonstration of how religious myths are created, this book has no equal. When this book was written, the authors undoubtedly believed that Cassie was killed because she affirmed her faith in God when it mattered most. They wrote an extremely moving and loving book, intended to be nonfiction. Millions of people now believe the myth, though objective evidence is now quite clear that it was another victim who said yes -- and was promptly spared, not killed. Read this book as an awe-inspiring exemplar of how powerful myths are created and believed, even when they are precisely opposite to the truth. Read it as a tribute of a loving mother for her daughter. Read it as a story of the trials of growing up in modern America. Read it as a cautionary tale of how easily religion can induce believers into falsehood. Read it as all of these, and more, but I suggest that you not try to read it as the true story of a Christian martyrdom.

Summary: This was a wonderful book!
Review: This book, I thought was a great book! Parts of it would make me really mad and angery because I would want to know why someone would do something like that just because they believe in god. This book also gave you a lot of details and would show other people how solve their problems if they had problems like Cassie did in the story. If you read this book I promise you that you will love this book and enjoy it very much. So read this book!

Summary: Skip it
Review: While the Columbine Incident was truly a disaster, and I feel terrible for all who died, this book isn't worth reading. This book is basically a mother, undoubtedly upset with the unfortunate death of her daughter, trying to put a positive spin on her life. It details all her struggles with different social groups and changing schools to make things better for her. As to whether or not she actually said 'yes' I'm not sure. I would give it the benefit of the doubt, but she apparently, by the details of her life, was not a very devout believer.

Summary: A BEAUTIFULLY written story with plenty of hope. I LOVED it!
Review: Misty Bernall did a beautiful job of putting her daughter's life story on paper. She'll having hanging on the edge of your chair just itching to see what's going to happen next. We learn the many ups and downs of Cassie's troubled teen life. You'll be plenty suprised (I was) of the life this now martyr had before. Suicide attempts, letters written threatening to kill her parents, worshipping Satan were all apart of this girls life before Misty and Brad whipped her back on track. When I say whipped, they really did get her back on track. For starters, Misty even quit her job to spend 24/7 with her daughter Cassie. She was put into a good Christian school to force religious values in her. This process took a while, not just overnight. Pretty soon, Brad and Misty started noticing major changes in their former suicidal daughter like she started smiliing more and just being more respectful. We all know what happend with Cassie's famous "yes," so I just finish up this review. This story has you feeling like your just sitting in the Bernall home listening to a personal family story. This is personally, one of my favorite books because of the truth in the story and how it gives you faith to believe in yourself that you can change. I highly highly recommend this book to any indivivdual who's having a hard time in life and feel they can't go on, it helps a lot (believe me). Read it whenever your feeling down and need a boost of faith.
