I have tried weight watchers, Dr. Atkins, and nothing worked. I didn't want to use the exchange diet that they use for diabetics and decided to use the sugar busters diet instead. This is my fifth week, and so far I have lost between 15-20 pounds! I feel balanced, my sugar level is where it should be and thanks to sugar busters, excercising,(I clean houses), and my vitamins I am doing just great! I think the hardest thing I had to give up on this was the pop corn. I tried some after five weeks at the show. It didn't taste as good as I remembered either and I find that I don't crave it anymore either. I was eatting popcorn every night before going on sugar busters. For me this isn't really a diet, just a different way of eatting. I will be eatting this way for the rest of my life. Friends of mine still can't believe that I eat three small meals and three snacks and still losing.

My nieghbor is now down 45 pounds and is now on "maintanence". He looks great. I'm down 20 pounds in 2 1/2 months, and I'm not even exercising the way I should. My friends can all see the difference. My clothes fit so much better now, and I have much more energy. This is NOT a diet. It is a change of eating lifesyle. I'm eating good tasting healthy foods and will probably live longer because of it. If you don't cheat, this program works (OK, every once and a while it's OK...BUT JUST A LITTLE!!!). Those people who don't give this program at least 4 stars are just missing the boat. Thank you SUGARBUSTERS!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The real credit should go to Michel Montignac!!! Review: I have read Sugar Busters and it is the only way forward in nutrition advice. My girlfriend is an insulin dependent diabetic and it has greatly helped her reduce the amount of insulin she needs to use. However the credit for this work must go to Michel Montignac, the author of 'Dine Out and Lose Weight', 'Eat Yourself Slim' and a few cook books based on the principles that all these books put forward. Sugar Busters is nothing more than a rehash of Montignac's work and he is the person who truly deserves the credit for the findings. The only addition in 'Sugar Busters' is that a few doctors have accessed some more research to back the findings and given it a new name. None the less it is absolutely essential for those who have tried everything else to lose weight and now want something that works permanently. The method does not restrict what you eat and as a result you will never feel guilty eating the foods you love again. Go on, give it a go! What have you got to lose other than that spare tyre or two...
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: very informative and a old concept with a new twist Review: I heard a lot of this type of diet before (sugar and carbo cutting)but was happy with the way the doctors explained the diet. The common sense, simple way the book was written...I have just got the book and just started the diet today...I enjoyed the book and read it in one day. I reread it over and over to make sure of some points...I have confidence that the diet will work because it explains alot what my body was going through all of these years....Thanks...

This tape drones on and on with mispronounced words and technical jargon. It almost put me to sleep!

Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great way to eat for everyone. Review: I've tried Dr. Atkin's diet and had some success. Sugar Busters is a very similar way of eating, but allows you to eat a larger variety of foods. Being able to eat fruit, whole-grain pastas and breads, and more vegetables, is the biggest difference between the two and the best reason to choose Sugar Busters. I lost the same amount of weight on both, but I will be able to eat the Sugar Buster's way for my lifetime.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: It seems like common sense Review: I was recently diagnosed with insulin resistance (related to an infertility problem), and all my doctor told me to do was "eliminate simple sugars." My dad is diabetic, so I knew I'd really have to do more than skip desert. I went browsing in the bookstore and found this book. It's terrific! In easy-to-understand language, it explains the relationship between sugar, insulin, and fat and the relationship between protein, glucogen, and fat. It also seems to be the most common-sense approach to changing eating habits that I've seen so far. The book does not provide any extreme dieting techniques, but instead shows a common-sense approach to easy eating for the rest of your life. No calorie counting, carb counting, etc. -- just logical, common sense! By the way -- I've lost 6 pounds in 2 weeks, mostly from the excess water my high insulin levels were forcing me to carry around.
