Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Great Book, Great Series, My New Favorite Author!! Review: I love these books!! John Sandford (aka John Camp) has become my new favorite author as I've read thru the Prey series. If you are just starting out, try to read them in order of publication, so you don't miss anything! A great read, I love Lucas Davenport!
Rating: ![3 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-3-0.gif) Summary: substandard prey Review: I've read most of the "prey" novels (Rules-, Eyes-, Winter-, Mind-, and Silent-), and this is the first one that disappointed me. The villains aren't interesting and the plot is predictable.
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: Book RATES so high, it's off the scale! Review: This book is the best suspense book I have ever read. It had me reading, reading, and not wanting to take a break. The writing is outstanding. I especially liked the way the characters came together in unity even when you least expected it. I mean even the "bad" characters unified as a whole to create a plot filled with "juiciness" that is so rare to read indeed. Read this one, and you won't be disappointed. Add it to your collection today.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Very Good!!! Review: This is classic John Sandford material. I utterly enjoyed Sudden Prey! JS is another of the masters of the fast-paced crime novels. I love Lucas' character. He is such a 'bad dude!!' I had actually read Secret Prey before this one, so I already kind of knew the ending, and what happened with Weather, but it was still a great read!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: This book had me turning from page to page, never letting go Review: I have read all of Mr. Stanfords books, looking forward to Davenports next move. Mr. Stanford keeps you on edge and when you least expect it, Davenport wins again. This is an excellent book series. I read that Sudden Prey was going to be aired as a movie. I hope Mr. Stanford never lets Davenport die, espeically the Nun. The team work between the detectives should be made into a TV series. Keep them coming Mr. Stanford. Davenport is just too cool to be written off and too cool to let anyone/anything stop him.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Great twists, suspense, drama Review: I gobbled this "Prey" Book as I have all since "The Rules of Prey." This book has all the great, intense drama and suspense as they all have. The LaChaise's were perhaps not the most evil villians that Sanford has come up with but they definitely grab you by gut. Lucas Davenport continues to interest. Will his relationship with Weather survive? Is he really just the toughest no-nonsense, blow-em-away cop around? I suspect he teeters on the edge of a personal decision. May he forever be the true hard a--!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The best Prey book Review: I've read them all in order. It's great watching the Lucas Davenport character evolve. Sudden Prey was definitely the best Prey book. Non stop action, you can't put it down. Dick LaChaise is an animal, a great villain. I loved his character.Read 'em in order to fully appreciate the Prey series. John Sandford delivers as usual with this one!
Rating: ![5 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-5-0.gif) Summary: The most powerful and suspense-filled Prey book of all. Review: From the robbery at the beginning to Weather's rescue at the end this book was gripping-I read it in just over 8 hours with time out for a nite's sleep. I appreciated Sanford bringing in the clues: the teardrops; the people from past preys: the detectives, Sarah and mom, etc. I hope Sanford will take some time with the next novel and do it as well as this one.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: A Typical Sandford "Prey" Book--Very Good Review: Even though you basically know what the outcome of Sudden Prey will be shortly after you start it, Sandford--as usual-- keeps your eyes glued to the pages and your fingers anxious to turn them. Davenport, the cop, and Sandford, the writer, continue in form--top notch at what they do.
Rating: ![4 stars](http://www.reviewfocus.com/images/stars-4-0.gif) Summary: Davenport could have handed this case over to Sloan Review: I've been reading about the detective since his first adventure in Rules of Prey (1982)and have to say that Sandford's latest, Sudden Prey, although a good read, is not the best. First timers should check out Eyes of Prey, Silent Prey & Winter Prey for better storylines.
