Summary: Great book!!
Review: I find this book very hard to put down. It's very interesting and goes into detail about how to better communicate with the angels, god and spirit guides. It is written so people of any positive religious path can read it. I am Wiccan and substitute Goddess when she refers to God. She even encourages substitutions if you prefer when she refers to God. I am half way through so far and can't wait to read more. I definatly want to read her other books after reading this one.

Summary: Truly gifted writer, great book provided Spectacular results
Review: I had never heard of Doreen Virtue or her books and a friend found this book and asked if I wanted to look at it. I spent about 15 minutes and immediately knew the writer had the ability to communicate with angels. I was impressed. I have a huge spiritual library and don't believe in religion and usualy only get impressed by only the greatest books ie Conversations with God, Abraham:Hicks cassettes, Real Magic and many more.
I was single and looking for a great loving relationship with a special woman and not having much luck.
After about 6 months of trying several dating methods and getting poor results I got hold of this book and went directly to the two chapers on loving relationships and soulmates and spent 5 nights reading the 2 chapters and following the instructions and writing a full page decribing the Dream Soulmate woman I was looking for. I meditated a little on my soulmate page each night for 6 months and then met someone who in 1 second when I saw her left me speechless with her beauty. Athough we spoke different language and couldn't communicate without dictionaries we quickly fell in love and were married in 3 months and now 2 years later we are still in deep love together in an amazing match made in heaven. My relatives were all blown away at our sudden wedding and impressed by my much younger, very beautiful and extremely talented bride with multiple degrees and even a World Championship and I am still convinced it was all because of the Divine Guidance book's instructions.
Now I am out of work and will quickly read the chapters on employment and career. I believe in angels and God and am not impressed by the bible or churches as I think they take our power away from us. Doreen with this amazing book helps us tap into the Universal Power and Love of all the heavenly beings to help us fulfill our dreams. Every day I am thankful for this book and have recommended it to many single people. It is one of the best I have ever checked out and I have checked out hundreds of good spiritual books. I understand some people feel this book is not believable and nonsense and I feel they are missing out on something that could truly empower them.

Summary: A Sad Reflection On Virtue
Review: I have recently been cruising Amazon.com to purchase some books for Christmas in the New Age section. I have noticed on A LOT of other authors book pages someone is going around writing reviews and recommending Virtues book over other or in addition to their books (the other authors). I would walk over broken glass before I would buy a book from an author who uses such despicable methods. There is NOTHING angelic or Heavenly about these spam tactics.

Summary: A COMFORT
Review: I highly recommend this book. I was going through some hard times and down on everything. "Self-help" books just didn't help. This book changed my outlook, comforted and raised my spirits. I believe that a guardian angel sent me to it. If you are reading this review, you should buy this book!!! Even after I stopped reading, I kept thinking about it.

Summary: A Beautiful, Life-Changing Book!
Review: I originally wrote a review of this book a couple of years ago, and I feel compelled to add some additional comments. This book completely changed my life, and I have seen the material in the book change the lives of others as well.

For those who are open-minded, the book provides detailed, step-by-step instructions for communicating more fully with the Divine on your own. Dr. Virtue emphasizes a positive, easy-does-it approach that anyone can use, and she explains intuition in clear and simple terms that we can all understand. For people who may have a more skeptical approach to new age spirituality and metaphysics, the book provides a new level of understanding as far as angelic communication and intuition is concerned. I myself am a former skeptic, but reading the book helped me to have my own experiences that convinced me of the presence of angels in my life, and I now communicate with them on a full-time basis. Many of my angel reading clients have had similar experiences. This book is not about reading someone else's truth- it's about finding your own truth and having experiences in your life to reflect a higher level of understanding your relationship with God and the angelic realm.

Dr. Doreen Virtue has published a truly priceless piece of work in Divine Guidance. She teaches all readers about their inner divinity, and shows them how they can easily have clear, open communications with God's angels. If you yearn for something deeper that is missing your life, you can reconnect with your true self, God, and all of the angels by learning the simple steps described in Doreen's book. Please buy it today- your angels want to communicate with you!

Summary: Absolutely Phenomenal and Powerfully Inspiring.
Review: I read this book in less than a week and am about to read it again. It has changed my outlook on life and subsequently positively effected every area of my existence. I am seriously considering purchasing a few hundred and giving them out to everyone I know and then even passing it out on street corners. The only thing that stops me is the fact that many people are not ready for this yet and I don't want to interfere with Divine Timing. It was Divine Timing that led me to Divine Guidance and I know that this same timing will lead whom ever it wills to it also. So if it is your time to read Divine Guidance, be prepared for one of the most enjoyable, thrilling and exciting inspirational adventures of your life, for almost everything you have ever been taught about God is about to be upended. You are about to know Him in a way that you never thought possible. Then be prepared to go even higher when you read two of the books referenced in Divine Guidance, Conversations With God and A Course In Miracles, which I suggest you save for last.

Summary: Almost useless. Better titles on the subject are available.
Review: I've been hearing a lot on the angel hype lately and decided to check out this book, especially because it seemed to focus on trying to achieve a sort of connection to (quoting the publishers) "the voice of God". This interest is of course only common in people that have some sort of religious belief (in any form). Being an open minded skeptic (in my case that means an inquiring theist, not an atheist) looking for answers, I decided to take a look at this book. Unfortunately, it proved to be a complete disappointment, I honestly could not get much out of it, and am not really curious now about Dr. Doreen Virtue, or any other of her many books and appearances on TV. This is a great book if you're a fan of any of the angel theories, and believe in it. If you don't believe but also don't say "no, I'm sure it's all your imagination" (that's my stage), you will probably need a different approach than having the writer out of nowhere start talking about seeing angels (with wings included), hearing clear voices, feeling changes in air pressure and temperature (being touched), and lots of other strange events as if they are as common as drinking some water.

I'm sorry if Dr. Virtue does indeed feel all those experiences and is honestly trying to share knowledge and help everyone to see the "transparent people" she says to see, hear and have physical contact with. I tried, but the cliché angel lines (tons of it), the outrageously lame psychological tests to see which of your senses you use more, and the overall uninspired text bored me to death. Not to mention the usual "case studies" where it's always impossible to know more about the patients and the situations. Oh, and yes, the high redundancy... in fact, I think that when I reached page 50 I had the feeling that those 50 could all be summarized effectively in 5 pages without losing any information.

I'm not the kind of reader that says that all new-age authors just care about making money pumping out books at high rate, saying the same things over and over again in different ways even when parts of it make no sense, but in this case, I had to rethink that it might apply in several cases. I was also amused by the way she mixes all sorts of highly incompatible principles and religions in a nice soup (which includes Christianity, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, A Course in Miracles, etc, etc, etc), in a degree that is puzzling, even for a book of this kind where it would obviously be expected. And God? Well, overall, who cares; We like angels, and we think it's all the same anyway.

There are a few good thoughts, not all is bad and this title does have its virtue (no pun intended), but in general, it is very repetitive, uninspired, and worst of all, does not manage to convince anyone who isn't intensely convinced already about any of the claims.

So if you are not deeply a fan of angel literature, stay away from this book. If you are still curious about the topic, try to find better titles. In any case, if you're a fan of the New Age section at the bookstore, you might what to know that another new-age title that does not directly focus on this "building of relationship with the divine" surprisingly ends up being A LOT BETTER in providing advice on that than Dr Virtue's book (and yes, it mentions angels). That book is "Creating Miracles", by Carolyn Miller, a lot less known, a lot less Oprah-ish, but also seems to be a lot less...bad.

I seldom read books I end up calling "useless", and have never returned a single book in my life (not even the weirdest ones) but this one had to be the exception. Back it went. If there are indeed two angels by my side, one is probably nodding in agreement to the other's "You should have known better, Nuno". Duh.

Summary: What a waste!
Review: If I could give this book no stars I would. I was never recommended this book, I was just looking for books about angels and bought this book because it looked interesting...I was soooooo wrong! I said a prayer that I found in chapter 3, a prayer that guaranteed results, and I didn't feel a thing. I guess I was rather gullible in believing that it would work.

This is my first and last book by this author.

Summary: A How-To Book on Talking To (And Hearing Back From) God.....
Review: In another review of mine of a "talking to angels" book, I expressed disappointment because there wasn't a lot of specific instruction; I hoped that this book would be much better. Well, it is. Ms. Virtue takes an all-religions-welcome approach to getting in touch with your higher power and she takes us step by step on how to do it. She stresses that God is not only everywhere, He is inside us, part of us, and thus is never away from us and can always be accessed. What's more, He and His angels are constantly trying to talk to us and guide us, some times more often than others. However, it's tricky hearing from Him because the voice of our ego, or lower self, is always afraid (or angry or jealous or selfish..) and talking to us as well, trying to trip us up.

Unlike other books, who merely suggest writing to your angels and having them write back, this book suggests that there are four different ways God has of communicating with us: Seeing (clairvoyance), Hearing (clairaudience), Feeling (clairsentience), and Knowing (claircognizance). Just as we all have different talents, some for music, others for business, others still for art, we all have varying styles of communicating. Speaking intuitively, some of us will See and never Hear. Other of us may just simply Know. ...

The author takes us step by step through each communication style, explaining the arts of Seeing, Hearing, Feeling, and Knowing, and then proposing ways of practicing each. She tells us that everyone has these God-given intuitions, though some of us more strongly in one area or the other, and that they, like all talents, can be strengthened.
