Summary: Once Again!
Review: Truely one of the best of Sparks....a must read.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: A Touching Story
Review: The book "A Bend in the Road" tells the story of Miles Ryan who loses his wife in a hit and run accicdent. The book is generally about how he deals with the thought of no knowing who killed his wife and the challenge of moving on. Though some of the outcomes are a little bit far fetched, the story will touch your heart and remind you that sooner or later you have to move on.

Summary: FANTASTIC
Review: This book is really well written. It is not exactly a mystery, but it could well fit into that category. I gave it four stars because the ending seems a little hurried. It all came into place too soon. But, really, it is a good book. The ending can be a little surprising if you are not used to reading mysteries.

Summary: Sparks does it again!
Review: Nicholas Sparks does it again. This is another example of why he is America's best-loved and bestselling author of stories of the heart. This is an emotional tale about a couple's new-found happiness and the shocking secret that threatens to keep them apart. Sparks has written a heart-breaking mystery. I highly recommend reading this one.

Summary: A Good Story
Review: Two desolate & painful years after his wife Missy's unsolved hit & run death, Miles is still haunted. He seems like a loveable, strong character, a good deputy sheriff, & a good father until his gets a lead on who may have killed his wife & he totally loses it! I think the desperation which dictates Miles actions speaks volumes of his love for his wife & the pain he & his son have lived with since they lost her. In the end, MIles gets control of himself and pulls all the pieces of his life back together, making some very hard & noble decisions along the way. I liked the story & the characters! Sparks reminds us that our actions can either be destructive or constructive..the choice is always ours. (PS I don't think Sparks intended to keep the killer a secret. He let's you "guess" with certainty because the confessions carry more weight when you understand who the killer is and how his crime may not only have ruined Miles life with Missy, but may ruin his chances of making a fresh start). A great story for the holidays!

Summary: Love at Christmas
Review: It is always enjoyable to read a good love story at Christmas time. Especially one that is set or at least ends at that time of year. Nicholas Sparks as usual was able to capture me from the first page and I couldn't put this book down. I read it in one sitting. In the end...A father's love prevails.

Summary: What happens to your mind when your world falls apart
Review: That is what Miles Ryan is up against after the death of his wife Missy by an unknown hit and run driver. Sparks has introduced the driver to us via a series of “italicized” chapters sporadically interspersed within the story as a whole. I enjoyed this aspect of the book and was always pleased to see another chapter by this individual who would reveal a little bit more about the person who perpetrated the crime.

Jonah Ryan is a little boy who has lost his mom and been allowed to slip back in his school work out of pity for his loss. Sarah, his new teacher makes friends with the Ryan family when she offers to work with him after school. Sarah and Miles make fast and easy friends, and Miles starts to have feelings that he thought would be long dead after losing Missy. It is when life is back on track for the first time in two years that his world is blown apart, and the madness begins.

This is an excellent book and I would rate it 4.5. Sparks’ books are warm and touching but the edge of madness is done well in this particular book. Something to watch for is the up and coming movie “A Walk to Remember” based on another Nicholas Sparks novel that just grabbed me by the heart. (...)

Summary: Enjoyable
Review: If your reading the reviews on Nicholas Sparks's "Bend in the Road" it's clear that people either immensely enjoyed the book or hated it. I, for one, found the story enjoyable. In spite of the story being slow at first and burdened by details at times, I was still able to relate & feel apart of the story.

Each of us are faced with obstacles or painful circumstances. Sometimes they may even seem unforgiveable. In this love story, Sparks brings out the importance of working through and letting go of the bitterness/pain/hatred that we may feel. Even if these feelings are justified. Life goes on with or without you. The choice is ours to make. And I can't end this review without mentioning the ending. It was beautiful.

Summary: Another ONE star
Review: I simply couldn't believe that this book was written by a New York Times bestselling Author. I kept turning the pages thinking it HAD to get better. The writing is poor, the pace agonizingly slow, and the story trite. This must have been published because the author's other books were great. (This is the only Nigholas Sparks novel I have read.)

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Unpredictable and rivoting!
Review: This was a very interesting book that keeps you glued to find out what develops next. It is a romantic book with twists and turns that is written in Mr. Sparks' smooth style.
