Summary: Life in a Courtroom
Review: A Review by Adam

The book Monster is a great book about how you can be in the wrong place at the right time. The book starts off with the main character, Steve, who is in jail writing in his journal about, what he is going through as he is going through it in jail. We later find out about why Steve is in jail. We discover that he has been charged for murder and robbery. Throughout the book, Steve decides to write about what is happening to him as though it is a movie. But then he also writes about what is happening to him in jail in his journal.

The book is a great book, but is starts to get confusing about who is talking in the story, because it keeps going back and forth between the characters. This is because it is written as though a movie script. There for before every sentence it tells you who is going to be speaking next. You can also tell very easily when he is writing in his journal compared to the movie because it has different style of writing. I also like this book because it is almost exactly like a real court case. It has all the yelling, and the arguing, and much more. The only bad thing about this book is that it moves very slowly, although, court cases move very slowly too. But nonetheless you want to keep reading to find out what is about to happen next. I would recommend this book to anyone that is really into suspense books, and real life situation books.

Review: Who wears orange and blue and is being accused of theft? If you were thinking of a person who steals cars, you are so very-WRONG. In "Monster,'' Steve is wrongly accused of theft in a hold-up. (Steve is the main character). Steve is not a monster that goes and scares you in the night. But people believe he is a monster.
If you like shows on TV like ''Judge Judy'' you are going to love this book. This book is written in a form of a screen play , a play that was going to be used for a film class. You at first might think that it might have too many characters. But after a couple of pages you can really get into it.
There are only a couple of problems with this book. You got to be a little advanced to read this book. Like at least ten (10) years old or older to read this book. Another one is that after a couple of pages a lot of things pop out like "film language". You will have to get across things that say cue or VO. (no I don't really know what this means either.)
This writer is so incredible. If I ever got to speak to the author I would tell him. "Great book, but next time you might want to use less characters, you might want to make them a little more clear too.'' The ending is very interesting. But I'm not going to tell you the ending the ending. You got to read the book.

Walter Dean Myers
When's the best time to cry at jail? At night when nobody could hear you, according to Steven Harmon. Steven is a teen who is accused of serial murder (it's as serious as it gets), along with Bobo and James King. Kathy 'O'Brien will try to convince the jury and you that Steven is innocent.
I recommend Monster. It's a great action filled book. It will take you into the mind of young Steven Harmon You will be shaken and stunned once you've finished this book. Walter Dean Myers is a great author. You will go into the mind of a serial murder, or is he? You decide.

Review: Have you ever been wrongly accused ? If you have, you might know what it feels to have everyone think you're a lair; right? You might have gotten lucky, because in this book there's this guy called Steven. "He was in the wrong place in the wrong time." An awful crime and some crazy gangster are trilling to get him busted. Los Diablos (that's the gang's name) are talking about some sign, that he supposedly sent to them. Once you know what the sign is, you maybe shocked. It's something that you and I do every single day, with out even noticing.

My favorite thing about this book was how Steven reacted to this case. The authour did a marvelous job, as how he described the emotions he was feeling at that time. I didn't know that a guy could get afraid of getting raped at night by other cell mates, (guys sell mates.) What's also great about this like reading a real case. The author makes you feel like if your there.
I recommend this book!

But don't think it is an ordinary monster it is a guy named Steve that thinks that he is a monster because somebody dies. I give this wonderful and realistic book two thumbs up, because Monster is a book that has a lot of interesting characters and interesting twists. In this story Steve is accused of robbery and felony murder. They also accuse guys that their nicknames are King and Bobo. Bobo was let go put he was back in jail a month later for robbing a car. King was sentence to 25 years to life. Steve was sentence to ... If you want to know what happens to Steve you will have to read the book.

Review: Have you ever been accused of something you didn't do? Well, that's what the book Monster is about. A boy named Steve Harmon is wrongly accused of a crime he didn't commit. He's in jail and nobody believes his story. It is a good book, and the fact that it's different from the rest. The book is not paragraph after paragraph its made like a script and some pages have Steve's writing.
Its very exciting because the crime he was caused of was taking part in a robbery with the character King and Bobo. He had a specific job in the robbery but you have to find out what it was by reading the book. When you read the book you will enter the mind of a young man who writes what happens to him in jail. Steve wants to make a movie out of his life and that's why he writes about how he feels in jail. The book is like having a movie script in your hand. If you want to find out what happened in the robbery and if Steve was proven guilty or innocent then you'll have to read the book Monster.

Review: This is a great book about a man and his troubles in jail. This book has a unique feel to it because it is written as a movie. I usually do not finish books that I begin because they can not hold my attention but I finished this book in an hour. It is a great book.

Review: Imagine for a second that you have been accused of murder and you are rushed are jail for a crime you did'nt even do. Well that what happens to Steve Harmon in Walter Dean Myers book MONSTER.

In Steve's jail going journey, Steve incounters many different people such as his laywer Kathy O'Brien, the gangstar wannabe Osvaldo Cruz, and the ruthless killer James King.

So why was he convicted you might ask? On the night of December 22nd Mr.Nesbit was found dead in a local quick shop. Steve Harmon was the supposed look-out for James King and Richard "Bobo" Evans. But all Steve did was get some mints.

A section of the book say "The best time to cry is at night, when the lights are out and someone is being beaten up and screaming for help."

So if you want a book that has real-life story with good heart, read MONSTER.
