Summary: "um.....good times, good times"- Grant and Andrew
Review: Don't let the title of our review fool you, we both thought it was an excelent book. It was a fast book to read, but it has a deep theme to it. If you are not a big reader, check this book out.

It was a great teen novel, you could really picture what was happening. When you read, you will find Steve Harmon to be a heart winning character

--Andrew Meyer and Grant Carden, New York Times

Summary: An easy read with a highly developed character.
Review: This is the second time I've read this book and I find many things in this book that I didn't notice reading it the first time around. I highly recommend this book for anyone that would like an easy read. Myers presents many of the stereotypes that young African American youths face in the inner city ghettos. Myers tells the story of Steve Harmon, a youth faced with charges of being involved with a murder. Through Harmon's eyes, we see the trials and tribulations he must face being a youth in prison and going through a stressful court case. Through it all, Myers excellently portrays the inner conflict of Harmon. The ending is predictable, but the presentation of it make you leave the book wanting more.

Summary: Underneath the Skin...The Monster
Review: I do believe in the saying, " Don't judge a book by it's cover." But when it comes to The Monster that is not an issue, the bright red color of the cover can attract anyone at any bookstore. The drastic colors urge you to open the book and once you start reading it, you can't wait to find out what really happend in the murder. Just from looking at the cover you can see that htis isn't just any fairy tale story. It is a story that any teenager can relate to in some way, and it tells the truth about the world outside our comfy neighborhood.
Steve, the main character, isn't your average teenage boy that you would find working at a bakery store after schoool. He is more the kind who would steel from a bakery. But underneath that dark skin, he isn't as mean as he may look. Once you find out what he really is like, he becomes a very likeable character tha seems llike the kind of guy you once might have been friends with. You even start to trust him through out the book. But even though the reader trusts him it doesn't mean that his friends, his mom, or his dad trust him.
It is a book that opens up your eyes to look at who people are under the skin. The story reels you in and you just never want to stop flipping those pages. So who really murdered that man? It couldn't be Steve...could it?

Summary: "monster"
Review: I recently read the book "Monster",and it was great. The detail of the setting was great. My favorite part is when they have the trial, I like this part because you get to hear everyone's side of the story.Bad points of the are when its night time and you hear all the screams coming from the other cells. If i had to rate this book on a 1-10 scale i would rate it a 10. Sometimes the author seems to ramble off the subject and doesnt really stay on the story and i gets boring at soemtimes. During the end of the book the author keeps you on the edge of your seat. The whole time I was reading I was thinking about what was going to happen next.

Review: Monster was a very interesting book. Monster is written by Steve Harmon who is the main charater. Steve has to go to a trial for a murder, which only the results can be determined if you read from begining to the end. It's a good book example of there consequences, resulting in the decision teenagers make it in life.
