Review: I thought this book was very interesting. This is not the like the usual books that I read. It was like watching a movie and reading a journal at the same time. It was also very easy to read. The book appears to be long, but the paragraphs are spaced out a lot. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to watch court movies.

Review: The book Monster by Walter Dean Myers is a thriller. The book suprised me in a lot of ways, that no other book has in a while. The reason I'm giving this book a excellent recommendation is that the book helps the reader understand court rules and regulations more fluently.I had alot of intrest in the book while reading it.The book catches your attention because it's a boy who's going through some serious changes during the course of the novel. Before you read the book Monster.Ask yourself, what is a monster?(In a figurative way)...

Summary: Is Steve Harmon a Monster?
Review: When I first began reading the book, Monster, by Walter Dean Myers, it was a little confusing because of the format. After about the first ten pages of the book, I became hooked! I simply couldn't put it down....In fact, I read it in about 4 hours! The book always kept me interested and I wanted to hurry and get to the end. I really found the main character--Steve Harmon an amazing character.

I would recommend this book to any young adult in the ages of 13 or older.

Review: I have read many good books by Walter Dean Myers, but Monster by far is the best book I have read. After I read the first two sentences I had to keep on reading. The book is written in a play form. It's about a 16 year old black man named Steve who is accused of murder. He has to go on trial and while he is on trial he is in the process of writing a play. The end of the book will surprise you. You will have to read it to find out if he is guilty or not guilty. It's a shocker. I can guarantee you will like this book.

Review: The Story of a Crime
"Monster" by Walter Dean Myers

This is a story of a 16 year old boy; this is no ordinary boy this boy Steve Harmon is on trial for murder. This book is about him writing a script of his court hearings and time in jail. He named his story monster because that's what the prosecutor called him.
Steve was an ordinary kid who lived in New York City until one night he decided to be a lookout in a crime where a man was killed. Now he's about to find out if the next part of his life will be spent in jail.
This is a fictional book that acts like Steve's journal through the worst part of his life. This book explains what happened during the robbery after the robbery and every time in between. It shows you every thought and hope that goes through Steve's mind.
The characterization makes the book come to life every thing that they go through seems to actually happen. With Steve's character you almost feel his pain with him. Ms. Petrocelli the prosecutor almost has ice running through her veins she's mean and acts like she doesn't care. With the characters Mr. Evans and Mr. King they act like criminals all the time the author really captured that aspect.
What makes those characters keep on going? I'm talking about their motivation, why do they do the things they do? In the case of Steve he just what's to go back to his old life and forget this ever happened. Ms. Petrocelli the mean lawyer, the book never tells you why she's so persistent but she would do anything to put Steve behind bars. Why does Ms. O'Brian work so hard her motivation is purely professional and it makes Steve's battle even harder. Well in the book "Monster" the main thing you get from the characters is that they all believe strongly for what their doing.
The book "Monster" shows you a great, sad, and powerful story of a crime through the eyes of the criminal. This story keeps you guessing until the last pages. This is one of my new favorite books I know you will feel the same after you read the story!

Summary: "Behind the bars"
Review: The first impression of "Monster" by Walter Dean Myers may be at first unexciting, and not very likeable. When you were to start the book readers would believe it is a bit confusing. Continuing the novel will bring mystery, excitement and, love.
Steve Harmon, a 16 year old young man, is full of ideas for his upcoming movie about his experienced life in jail. He is currently on trial for murder of Mr. Nezbitt, a man who was shot in his drugstore. From this large experience he is convinced that's he is a bad person. From this situation Steve had to leave his family and friends behind with nothing to say or what to even think.
Steve goes to trial to explain his side of the story. He is a kind and loveable person to his family, and friends. At the fact he was arrested in his home, it brought his self esteem down, from being arrested and what he thought about his friends and family, and what they are going to think or believe, and wondering how they are going to react. He tends to worry a lot about how things are going to end up and where he is going to go from there.
He is then accused of murder a long with a group of acquaintances. Yet only one person has the name of killer on their forehead. From this situation people all over all around the victims asking who or where they were during the day that it happened.
Sandra Petrocelli, the prosecutor is a very greedy and tough gal, who has no problem saying Steve Harmon has the right to be prosecuted. Knowing there is someone that is in the picture trying to prosecute when not knowing who is innocent or guilty it causes a large problem.
As a result, you will have to read the mystery in able to put the pieces of the puzzle together. This book was great to read, and showed a lot of excitement. If you are to read this novel then you can spread the great word of how wonderful this experience is!
