Summary: My favorite
Review: This book in my favorite book, I had a great time reading it. I had no idea how much Ronald Reagan had done for his country. This book gives a tremendous amount of information on Ronald Reagan, by the end of this book you will surely be a huge Ronald Reagan fan. Ronald Reagan was a great American and by the end of this book you'll come to the same conclusion.

Summary: The Greatest President of the 20th Century
Review: This is the definitive book by and about a truly great leader, and a great man. Ronald Reagan came to office at a time when America desperately need a man of his strength and character. After a decade of downturn - particularly the Carter malaise years, Reagan renewed our faith in ourselves and our nation. Today's conservatives - especially our so-called "leaders" - need to read this book.

Ronald Wilson Reagan - Ronaldus Magnus - will be missed, and we may never see his like again.

Summary: Tremendous and Honorable
Review: This is the finest autobiography I have ever read. If you want a real insight into President Reagan this is the ONLY Reagan book you need to read. While other Reagan books, such as those by D'Souza, Peterson, Noonan and a few others are fine works, this is the finest and most noble writing of Ronald Reagan. A great American and, as history will show, one of the Greatest Presidents. There is no blame game or excuse making for ANY of his actions, but rather a warm and genuine insight into the who, what and how of the Reagan Presidency. From his simple beginings in Illinois to the Iran Contra affair and his relationship with Gorbachev, this is a story of greatness and what the American spirit is capable of.

This is a feel good classic in the words of a fine and descent man who strongly believed in the greatness of America and its people.

Summary: THE FINEST BOOK I HAVE EVER READ
Review: This is without question the finest book that I have ever read. You won't want to put it down. You know that when you read this fine work it is perfectly clear that President Reagan was a great man who loved and believed in this country and its people. While reading the story of his life I felt like he was telling me the story in person. President Reagan is a completely genuine man, something that is solid throughout the entire 700+ pages, something that cannot be faked. Trust me if you are thinking about reading about President Reagan, this is the book to read. President Reagan tells the truth unlike another former President whose autobiography was just released and is already being questioned for its truthfulness. No matter where you are politically, when you read this book you will know that President Reagan did what was right for our great nation. He will be remembered as one of the greatest Presidents in our history.

Summary: The last great Republican
Review: This makes a wonderful companion volume to Reagan's War (see my review "The man who slayed the Evil Empire") as the two together give you a combination of insights that is unsurpassed.

With the appalling atmosphere being generated in the present election run-up, it is rather sobering to reflect on how a truly GREAT American conducted himself. Honorable was a word used by another reviewer and that sums The Ron up.

He didn't set out to win elections by dredging up dubious dirt on his opponent, he set out to win simply by being BETTER than his opponent. And he was.

Like Winston Churchill, whose mother was American, Ron loved his country very deeply and fought to defend it and everything it stood for with a clarity and a strength and a passion that we simply have not seen since.

George Bush Jr. scraped through in the last election, and if he wins this one, it will have been because his PR crew relied on pitting Vietnam Vet against Vietnam Vet while his unworthy running mate is once again a five-time draft dodger.

Ron wasn't even a combat veteran, nor was Margaret Thatcher, but they had a strength of vision and an integrity and a love of democracy that inspired those who were.

When Baroness Thatcher curtsied at Ron's funeral, it was the ultimate compliment to a great man, and a great American, the likes of whom we may never see again.

I hope I'm wrong.

Summary: The Autobiography of Ronald Regan
Review: This well written autobiography of the life and times of Ronald Regan from his perspective is as is most autobiograpy's, self serving. However, it does make for some interesting reading. President Regan reveals some little known facts about his history and his exile from the Democratic Party and to become the GOP man of the century. Unfortunately this book does the same as every other book written about this man it leaves you with the feeling of "I just can't figure him out". It's worth the money and your time to read his side of the story.

Review: U.S. Grant said, "The right man for the job does not go after that job. He waits to be called." This book, and Ronald Reagan's whole legacy, are proof of that statement.

Summary: An Awesome Book!
Review: Yes it is a biography but it is also a tale of the American dream. He goes from growing up poor in a small town to becoming the Leader of the Free World. Ronald Reagan was not born wealthy by any means. You see how his early childhood was filled with poverty (the hamburger soup story) and understand how his father's drinking affected him later in life. A wonderful story about an equally wonderful man!
