Summary: I saw this on Oprah - great book
Review: I saw Cheryl on Oprah today - and had already ready the book. This is a wonderful and wise approach to getting your whole life clicking. Just take time to read it - if you breeze through it in a weekend without doing all the exercises, your won't get nearly as much out of it.

Summary: A big time highlighter!
Review: This book was recommended to my sister, a big radio executive. I jumped on the recommendation because I am a supervisor of 110 retail stores across the United States. This spares me little time for me...or so I thought! I found that more sentences were highlighted and "starred" in my reading this book than any other. Great tips and "thinkers" that I have not seen in other business or self help publications and I subscribed to Executive Book Summaries! I have read the book and am now on my track to implementing each step and already I see a difference! Thank you. Thank you.

Summary: This book is fabulous -- a must buy!
Review: I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It perfectly blends the intuitive with the practical in assisting readers to make changes in their lives. I have already implemented some of Richardson's suggestions and am noticing that the universe is responding in a positive way. You must be willing to take action and put the author's ideas into practice -- reading it is not enough to affect changes in your life.

Summary: This really works!
Review: Cheryl Richardson's advice to slow down and make your self-care a priority really works. As a working mother, this at first seemed like an impossibility. But I took on her challenge to try "feeling guilty" every day. I started by getting a housecleaner...Oooh..guilty! Then I got back to my favorite ritual of a daily bath. Then I laid down the big bucks and joined an expensive health club that I always wanted to join but thought I couldn't afford. And just as Cheryl teaches in "Take Time for your Life," suddenly I felt rejuvinated and more energetic than ever! I also became calmer and able to handle life's curve balls more easily. I even have more patience with my kids. And best of all, I've been able to prioritize my time better because I have more time to think about it.

This book is a winner. There's so much good stuff in it, I recommend getting a partner or a group and going through it step by step together. You will see dramatic results in your life.

Summary: Finding your way, when you think there is no way.
Review: This book/audio program by Cheryl Richardson is incredible. It focuses on "extreme self care" and letting go of things that you no longer need in your life. By allowing yourself to take care of yourself and by letting go of things you no longer need, you create a space for all the things you do need in your life. Cheryl teaches you how to let go and how to create the space for your dreams to happen. I am one who has had a very hard time letting go of things that are no longer nourishing my spirit. With Cheryl's help I have let go of the obvious...21 bags to the Salvation Army...and I am scouring my house for more things to pass on to others....and I am starting to let go of a relationship that hasn't worked for a very long time. So far, and this is true, my daughter has received a $3,000 scholarship for her trip to Europe for her junior year in high school .. and .. I have received a "muse" who is helping me to create and write a book. I recommend you buy these tapes and listen to them again and again...I learn something new each time. Cheryl has a beautiful audio voice and her intelligence and insightfulness shine brightly through. Buy these tapes and figure out what it is that is keeping you from doing and being everything that you want to be and do. And then get started on the life you are meant to have. Cheryl, if you happen to read this, I send you my love. My spirit, my heart and my soul will always be greateful to you for helping me begin my journey to becoming everything that I am supposed to be.

Summary: Has Made a Difference
Review: Ms. Richardson suggests you read the book in its entirety before implementing the guidelines and I second that recommendation.

I live an extremely hectic, complex life and it was a challenge to make the time to read the title. Yet I did so and I already feel proud for accomplishing that feat.

I have not yet followed all the guidelines, but I can say one thing: adopting the attitude of "extreme self care" has made a critical change in my life. When things get really stressful, I now ask myself: Am I exercising extreme self care by huffing and puffing over this situation? Is my present attitude productive or counterproductive to my overall well-being?

Since reading the book, I'm exercising more--not to lose weight (although I need to), but my primary goal now is to de-stress and feel better about myself. I'm making time to pay more attention to how I put myself together in the morning--instead of living the "woke up, got out of bed, dragged a comb across my head" scenario. A lot of folks depend on me. I've learned the hard way that I need to depend on myself first to take care of myself.

So, although I've only adopted Ms. Richardson's "first step," believe me, it's a giant and life altering one.

Thank you Ms. Richardson!

Summary: Enjoyed this book so much . . .
Review: This book helps put alot into perspective, especially if you are caught up in the cycle of work, sleep, eat, work and postphoning life until you complete your to-do list! I have not finished it yet, but I'm already a big fan!

Step by step the author guides the reader through the process of taking care of your whole self - by covering topics such as relationships, environment, body, mind, and spirit, work, and money. Her practical advice and guidance on how to eliminate energy drains and replace them with the things that fuel you is invaluable!
