Review: After reading many of the negative reviews posted here, I decided to give "The Alibi" a try anyway. I'm a great Brown fan and was dismayed at the negative reviews on this book. Pleasantly I was surprised that I did enjoy it more than I thought! A good read! My favorite has got to be "The Witness". Now, that's a great book.

Review: The Alibi is an excellent story! Sandra Brown does a great job of grabbing your attention and keeping it. I love how Brown intertwines her characters and keeps you guessing on "who did it." The Alibi is filled with murder, love, and suspense. I didn't want to put it down!

Summary: I LOVED IT! GREAT SUSPENSE!
Review: My first Brown book was Unspeakable. I thought that book was VERY good but the Alibi was even A WHOLE LOT BETTER. If someone asked me to read it again I would! It was 490 pages but felt like only 100! The pages quickly flew by! I couldn't put it down. Loved every bit of it. I loved how Brown made all the characters look guilty! She is starting to become one of my fav authors! I hope she writes for more generations to come! To sum this review up: THIS BOOK WAS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ AND IT IS A DEFINITE PAGE TURNER!

Review: After reading a few not so promising reviews, I was afraid I might not enjoy this book. I decided to read it anyway, I'm sure glad I did. The characters were a little confusing at first, I wasn't real sure which ones I was supposed to like. The story kept me guessing almost to the end, even though I did figure out who the bad guy was, I was never 100% sure. An epilogue would have been a nice touch, I wasn,t ready to quit reading about Alex, Hammond, Smilow and Davee. I would recommend this book to others.

Summary: Boring and Pure Drivel
Review: Sorry Ms. Brown, This is strike 3 for me. I am not going to pay for anymore hardcovers. I will check out your next book from the library. I know you are not writing "those" kind of books anymore, ie. Mirror Image, Slow Heat In Heaven, Texas Trilogy - to name a few. My question is: Why Not? That is where your true talent lies. I know there are millions of your readers who love "those" kinds of books and were and are willing to pay the hardback price for the sheer joy of reading a book by a writer with your immense talents. Please reconsider, you have fans who truly miss you. As for The Alibi, I will let my rating speak for itself. One of your first forays into Romance/Mystery was French Silk which was a true keeper. How I long for the old days.

Summary: A FAIR BOOK
Review: I found this book to be a disapointment to me. I was bored as I read it, and kept waiting for more to happen. If you want to read a book that goes straight to your heart, read Stolen Moments by Barbara Jeanne Fisher. . .It is a beautiful story of unrequited love. . .for certain the love story of the nineties. I intended to give the book a quick read, but I got so caught up in the story that I couldn't put the book down. From the very beginning, I was fully caught up in the heart-wrenching account of Julie Hunter's battle with lupus and her growing love for Don Lipton. This love, in the face of Julie's impending death, makes for a story that covers the range of human emotions. The touches of humor are great, too, they add some nice contrast and lighten things a bit when emotions are running high. I've never read a book more deserving of being published. It has rare depth. Julie's story will remind your readers that life and love are precious and not to be taken for granted. It has had an impact on me, and for that I'm grateful. Stolen Moments is written with so much sensitivity that it made me want to cry. It is a spellbinder. What terrific writing. Barbara does have an exceptional gift! This book was edited by Lupus specialist Dr. Matt Morrow too, and has the latest information on that disease. ..A perfect gift for someone who started college late in life, fell in love too late in life, is living with any illness, or trying to understand a loved one who is. . .A gift to be cherished forever.

Summary: A read that's just OK....
Review: Romance fans, skip this one! In fact skip all Ms. Brown's new books---she's trying to distance herself from us all. Suspense fans, this is an OK read, Hammond Cross is an interesting character. And the mystery, did keep me guessing--for a short time. This is one of those authors, that has dropped off my automatic buy list. This book is worth a trade at the UBS, and that's about it!

Summary: Imposter Alert! Please return the Original Sandra Brown!
Review: Sandra Brown is, in my opinion, one of the best Fiction writers of our time. As the years have progressed her works have only got better. BUT, Alibi was very slow moving, and quite honestly, boring. I found myself asking "Why did I spend all that time reading this book?" If you really feel you must read this book, maybe you should just read the blurb; that's as interesting as the book will get.

Review: I loved Sandra Brown the Alibi. It was one of her best. But it does not top the trilogy of Texas!Lucky, Texas!Chase, Texas!Sage, now those are her best work. It would be terrible if there was not another book to follow.
