Summary: Fun book
Review: I found this book a quick, entertaining read. I read the book pretty fast, so maybe I missed the more annoying points of the book, but I still enjoyed the fast paced action. I was happy to see a hero and a heroine who were older than I am instead of the teenage heroines that seem to be so prevalent in romance novels today. I really haven't seen much of a change in her writing style over the past few books and I have come to look for Amanda Quick's books as light diversions. I recommend this book only if you have time to read it on one sitting.

Summary: Great Book Once You Got Into It
Review: I found this book a refreshing change from her one word title books. Although they are always wonderful, it seemed Ms. Krentz was stuck in a writing rut. Her books were just different variations of each other. Don't get me wrong, if you find something that works, go with it! But With This Ring was a delightful change of pace. Leo and Beatrice were so three dimensional that they seemed to hop right off the page. The mystery was fascinating, and the heat between Leo and Beatrice fairly crackled through the pages. They are some of the ultimate love heroes of all time, and you want them to get together. Take my advice and buy this book!

Summary: My favorite Amanda Quick book !
Review: I have read a number of other Amanda Quick books and have adored them all. This one, however, now stands head and shoulders above the rest. It was engaging, enthralling and captivating !

I especially enjoyed the fact that the hero and heroine, Leo and Beatrice, were older than the usual historical romance, and both had been jaded by past relationships. It gave a more realistic and understandable feel to their characters and also made it all the more romantic that they discovered eachother. Another aspect of their relationship I enjoyed was how much they had in common. Passion is definitely evident, but one gets the feeling that their common interests will hold their relationship together forever !

I highly recommend this book !

Summary: Pretty Good
Review: I liked this book. The heroine wasn't simpering and the hero was strong and dashing. But after awhile I got bored with the subplot (the mystery) and wished she'd just get on with the romance. I love historical romances set in England and this one certainly delivered that much for me.

Summary: delightful story, but not a Regency and no character growth
Review: I loved hear early books. They were delightful, light, entertaining, but still, her heroines were real Regency ladies, with the restrictions and convictions of that time, and they somehow developped during the book, learning something about themselves, growing beyond some old fears, or so.

The last few books are getting ever flatter. The story is still delightful, but the heroines are much too free for Regency, the period is just used as a costume backdrop and not as a real part of people's lives and values and, and I miss this most, they do not grow. They are already happy with themselves and life as it is, and the man is just icing on the cake. This is not romance for me, romance is a void being filled, a growing up of the whole person.

So, both in her contemporaries as Jayne Ann Krentz, as in her historicals, I still find a fun read, but it gets flatter and flatter in every book and I will probably not buy her next one as a hardcover, it is just not worth that m! oney.

Summary: Wonderful!
Review: I loved this! I read I THEE WED, and was expecting something like it, but I was surprised (pleasantly). I loved the title"the Mad Monk of Monkcrest." the heroine was strong-minded, but then again, so was the hero. They were mature, and thank God she wasn't a virgin. It was amusing how everyone was fixed upon impotence. Great read.

Summary: WITTY AND ENTERTAINING
Review: I really adored this book. Leo and Beatrice were so perfectly suited. They were both more mature than the typical ead characters because they were older (about 30 and 40) and had both come from previous marriages. I loved how Beatrice helped prostitutes become maids by teaching them bad Frech accents. It was just a unique quirck that made her more intriguing. Elf was also another funny animal, a dog, that got a few laughs. All together the lead characters were refreshingly different from the normal characters and this bok is just great.

Summary: Not up to snuff
Review: I thought it was fabulous that Amanda Quick decided to break her one word title streak and venture out of that comfort zone. But her journey into a new style of writing was rather dissapointing for me. The book starts out with Beatrice Poole seaking out Leo drake to get him to help her uncover her uncle's mysterious murder and to come up with the Forbidden Rings of Apphordite. Leo is bothered by the untimely interuption in his life but is intruiged by Beatrice and agrees to help her. As the plot thickens, Beatrice and Leo are pulled into a web of deceit and trickery, and friends become foes. But now it seems that Leo and Beatrice's fate will fallow that of her murdered uncle. The thing that bothered me about this book was that there was to much mystery and too little romance. I have come to expect great things from Ms. Krentz in the way of romance, and this book left me wanting more. There was no real heat between Leo and Beatrice. You just are left with ends that don't meet. also, you don't really care if Beatrice and Leo get together. But there are many qualities that save the book. Leo and Beatrice are exceptionally three dimensional and the mystery is fairly interesting. And, as always, the setting is stunning and well described. I could see London as I was reading, and that is always a sign of a well written book. And it is well written, just the romance was lacking. If you know Amanda Quick, you should read this book, but I wouldn't buy just because there are better books out there.

Summary: A Great Book!!! Must Read.
Review: I thought this book to be much different than most other Historical Romance, which are all so predictable it's sick. This book has adventure with a twist of romance, and was excellent. Maybe all you who had read all her other books should take a break then read her books. You'll see how good they are!!!
