Rating: Summary: Tom Clancy is the BEST!! Review: The Hunt for Red October was the first Tom Clancy novel that I had ever read and it hooked me. After this novel I have read numerous other Clancy titels and loved the all! His know-how of military technoligy and strategy is a brilliant formula for a masterpeice. Each of his novels is a record of his mastery of writing. He is a great and brilliantly skilled writer.
Rating: Summary: A Stellar Thriller Review: I was encouraged to read Tom Clancy in 6th grade. At that time, I was not reading anything. So I went to the library and picked up Red October. By the end of the night, I was almost halfway through the book. It took me only 3 days, for it was action packed and suspenseful, and not at all hard to understand. It is still on of my favorite Clancy books, and one of my all time favorites.
Rating: Summary: Clancy at his best Review: This book has to be one of the best that I've ever read, and I've read quite a few. For anyone who has any interest in military operations and/or the Cold War, this is the ultimate book. Clancy puts together an interesting and suspensful plot that, as in all of his works, he manages to tie together nicely in the end. He tells this story from many view points and superbly combines historical fiction with historical fact to create a story so captivating that only a master author like himself could have written it. Truly an excellent book!
Rating: Summary: A great military thriller Review: Clancy uses his amazing knowledge of American and Soviet submarine tactics and capabilities to write a first rate military adventure. No other writer can teach you so much yet keep the novel so fun to read.
Rating: Summary: Bowring! Review: This is the most bowring book I ever read, it makes the russian navy look as If they were stupid. I think that you can spent your money in something better, look for THE RAINMAKER, thats a good book.
Rating: Summary: This book, Clancy's first, is still one of his best! Review: I am fourteen years old, and I own every one of Mr. Clancy's novels. This book, his first, is a little bit less refined in the writing, but is still a top-notch book. I loved it, and I plan to buy as many of his non-fiction books as I can!
Rating: Summary: This is too great. . . . .. Review: Hey, I'm only in fifth grade Age 10, yeah I skipped a grade. This book wasn't too hard to understand, I've read alot of Tom Clancy's works and this must be one of the best ones I've read.
Rating: Summary: If there ever was a waste of money this book is it Review: Im 15 but read this waste of money when Iwas 14.First of all I dont like it because it shows Russians and all people from the old Warsaw Pact as stupid and dumb both of which they are not. (Eastern Block) I am Russian, Hungarian, Romanian, German (East Germany was in the Block) Ploish, Czech, Slovak, and Italian.I was offended. All these countries were in the Block except Italy of course. This book is boring and dry. Too many Military terms and one boring plot. Also Clancy makes it look like Americans are the best and they always win and he makes Russians out to be the bad guys which they arenot. They are people like us with hopes, aspirations goals and dreams. To anyone reading this DONT BUY THIS BOOK AND WASTE YOUR MONEY. Read A.J. Quinells "In the Name of The Father" the best book I have ever read (Iam a Book worm)
Rating: Summary: This book was Awesome! Review: I think everybody should read this book. I'm only in seventh grade and I still understood it. It isn't anything like the movie though.
Rating: Summary: I think that it wuz a pretty cool book... Review: I think it was a cool book... It really wasn't that hard for me being in only 7th grade. But it was interesting... Although i did get lost at a few points... but i got back on track.
