Rating: Summary: awful Review: One of the worst books I have ever read. Aimless, ridiculous and uninteresting story line. I am a big fan of his but this book was terrible, skip it.
Rating: Summary: THIS WAS A GREAT STORY Review: This was a quick read for me. I loved this story. I get the feeling Mr Grisham is trying to branch out in other the directions in this story. What a grand idea for the character to show a more human face. The main charcter look for the daughter of a recently died Troy Phelan; a self-made billionaire. But get this, the daugther does not want her money. She chooses to give her life to God and walk away from the mordern world and .... You got to read it for yourself. This is a remarkable adventure. Score another one for JG. This is a sure 6 or 7 stars if possible. I wonder will the recently book release, The Brethren, be this good. In my book the PARTNER by JG is as good as the TESTAMENT. Get your copy today.
Rating: Summary: WOW! Review: What a great book! Having read all of Grisham's works, I would rate "The Testament" third best only to "The Firm" and "The Street Lawyer". Many people say they dislike the ending and that it's to quick, I personally think it is perfect. I mean how else could you end it. How did you like this book? Tell me.
Rating: Summary: Another Grisham, or is it? Review: Testament departs from Grisham's courtroom drama theme without actually abandoning the lawyer experience genre. I enjoyed reading this book, but don't expect a typical Grishamesque experience.
Rating: Summary: Disappointing! Review: It was hard to read the entire book. I kept waiting for the story to 'grab me' but it just never happened. Could not identify with any of the characters(nor did I care what happened to any of the characters!).
Rating: Summary: My first Grisham book Review: This was a very good book in my opinion. I enjoyed it very much. The only thing I didn't like about it was that there was a little too much descriptive writing and not a lot of dialog. But once you get past that, it is a book you CANNOT put down! It is a must to read! I am now a Grisham-holic!
Rating: Summary: had to finish Review: Having read most of Grishams work this is not the best but certainly a great read. The pace is ever changing and there are not many places that I was willing to put this book down. What places this book below some of his other work are, the support characters, the feelings for them were of apathy rather than dislike, which leads us from cheering so loudly when the hero is victorious.I would recommend this book for any fan of the down and out hero.
Rating: Summary: Wimpy Review: Big Disappointment! The story had no thrill or edge. I read through it only because I was on vacation and had nothing else to read. I will give The Brethern a chance only because I have loved all his other books (except The Street Lawyer only earned 3 stars from me).
Rating: Summary: Cat is impressed Review: A wonderful novel showing what exactly is going on today. It shows what death really means and how greedy people are. I highly reccomend reading this book. I am only a junior in high school and enjoyed it very much. It leaves you wanting more. Grisham did a wonderful job and it shows that the ones we don't see may be the one's we most care about. Good Job John!
Rating: Summary: Where's the plot? Review: Very dissapointing. The book is nothing like the book jacket predicted. No conflict, unlikable characters, I just keep thinking it could have been so much better.
