Summary: Lawyers have to hate it when John Grisham writes a book.
Review: John Grisham has done it again. Unlike his first books which attack and take shots at money laundering law firms with high billing rates, Grisham has shown once again he has developed a social conscience. His sidebar criticism of moneymongers makes you realize life SHOULD be more about people than money. WHAT A BOOK! I thought THE STREET LAWYER was his best, this is the best plot since THE PELICAN BRIEF.I can't wait for the movie.

Summary: Definitely a page turner. A bit shallow in spots
Review: This is the first Grisham book that I've read in a few years. I read it on a long flight, and it was impossible to put down. The legal stuff was the usual interesting twists and turns. The characters were likable - and I could see the movie being wildly successful. I vote for William Hurt for Nate O'Reilly, just tragic enough, with a glimmer of hope in his eyes. The thing that bothered me was that the book was supposed to be centered on one man's conversion to God. The sections covering the conversion were astonishingly thin. Take it from me, life changing, miraculous spiritual experience are challenging to describe, but that is the writer's task. Grisham spent an enormous amount of time describing the South American landscape, the characters, the diseases and wildlife. Much time was spent describing and redescribing the shifty, ugly heirs to the fortune at hand. Only about five paragraphs covered the religious conversion of a really troubled man. I wonder if that's the one experience Grisham could only imagine, having never personally experienced the merciful and healing love of God.

Summary: Suspense field novel. John grisham has done it again
Review: Once again John Grishman has caught my imagination with the suspense in every chapter. I always place myself in the parts of the characters and act it out in my mind. The testament is one of his finest novels.

Summary: WOW!
Review: I absolutly loved this book! It has so much intensity and suspention. It's my favorite book ever! It may seem wierd but most people my age (11), can't stand big thick books. I love them. This is a great thriller and if you're a Grisham fan like me, you'll definitly want to read it!

Summary: As usual, Grisham is a suspenseful great author
Review: This is just. another great book about the works of lawyers but do they really act like this? The descriptions of locations are intriging and makes you feel like you are right there. This book makes you want to stay up all night to keep reading another chapter!

Summary: Grisham gets his toes wet in spiritual waters.
Review: This book was touted as the author's course correction, a refutation of materialism worshipped by earlier characters. But the idealism of Nate is no different (or deeper) than Mitch in The Firm, or The Street Lawyer, for that matter. Testament is a passing grade adventure book, but it did not live up to its billing as a foray into things spiritual. It certainly started to do just that, but it just didn't know how to convey how Nate might have really been transformed by the proverbial Grace of God. The goodness of Rachel is marred by the innuendo of knee-rubbing and back-touching...we don't know if Nate was really touched by her spirit or just by his fantasies.

Summary: Superb book only Grisham can write
Review: I have always counted on John Grisham to write excellent novels based on interesting storylines and he doesn't disappoint me here. Yet I am taken completely by surprise again by the ending, which takes after , 'Runaway Jury', and 'The Partner' in nature. As much as I love all of Grisham's books, as a fellow fictional writer, I don't think I would have taken the approach Mr. Grisham took. but nonetheless, an extremely superb book that is a must read.

Summary: I look forward to reading the book!!
Review: I still have not read the book, but I am definately going to read it. For the time being I just wanted to say that the 'Law part' is what makes John Grisham's books unique. One reader was complaining that Grisham always writes about Law and I want to say thats the best part of all his novels. That is the reason, I make sure that I read all of his books. So Grisham give us more of those court scenes, we love them.

Summary: You know what you'll get!
Review: We know what to expect from Grisham -- more mind numbing stuff for long flights. And more suspense followed by no plot or climax.

Will he have had the respect to his readers to have the book edited? Doubtful -- we'll be subjected to the same repetitive phrases. Will he have had the courtesy to have it proofread for the simplest misspellings? Doubtful -- he's too busy cranking out pulp for cash.

Supposedly this book has only the barest of physical descriptions of the characters -- don't want to spoil things for the Hollywood casting people!
