Rating: Summary: Grisham Does It Again! Review: I have to say, I have read all 10 of Grisham's books & have loved them all. His latest book far surpassed his standard. I found it exciting because he went in a different direction than in his previous works. A great plot! I never put it down. I can't wait until the next one!!!
Rating: Summary: Boring----like slogging through the jungle in cement shoes Review: The first 50 pages were entertaining and promising. Once the trip to South America began, the book became less entertaining than a trip tp the periodontist. The characters were wooden..a poor takeoff on RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK. Please skip the intervening 300 pages and read the last chapter....if you even care enough to find out what happens.
Rating: Summary: The book is one more of his genius writings. Review: I have read the first two chapters of John Grisham book,"THE TESTAMENT," and I think that it is awesome! I am building a library of his writings and Movies. Presently, I have to do more reading to complete this new book and several others of his writing.
Rating: Summary: They get better each time. Review: John Grisham is the only author of fiction that I read. His books are very interesting and certainly keep my interest. This book is a bit different than the rest, but one of my favorites.
Rating: Summary: Very disappointed in " The Testament ". Review: John Grisham is one of my very favorite authors, but I was disappointed in his last book and even more disappointed in " The Testament ". Normally when I pick up one of his books I can't put it down until I have finished it. This one I started two days ago and I am having a hard time finishing it. Mary Young (RYoung7324@aol.com)
Rating: Summary: I like Mr. Grisham's trend toward ethical themes Review: I liked "The Testament". Maybe not as much as "Street Lawyer" which I read twice in one sitting. I loved the description of Brazil and Nate's visits. I appreciated not being beat over the head with how Nate rehabilitates himself - it was subtle and realistic - one day you look inside yourself and find you just see life differently. I personally felt too much time was spent describing the repulsive Phelan clan in and out of court, but it certainly made an ethical point. Good job.
Rating: Summary: Won't B Buyin' This One! Review: I have been a Grisham fan since A Time To Kill. Before every body got on the bandwagon with The Firm (still Grisham's best work to date). His recent work has sucked. He has gotten lazy. I will not be buying this one ( but I will check it out at the library). Notice how all the reviews are good BEFORE the release then SUCK after the release? Take a hint from a fan, save your money! Let's send 'ol Johnny a message with our wallets to get his tail in gear!
Rating: Summary: Good message but not one of his best Review: I always read Grisham's books the day they're released. The premise was excellent, and I hoped for more than I got. After the first captivating chapter, the book dragged. The bad guys had no redeeming qualities whatsoever, and the good guys were not developed very well either. Still, I did think the book had a nice message worth pondering. For better plots and characters, try Richard North Patterson and David Baldacci.
Rating: Summary: Wasn't able to put it down! Review: Captivating characters and Grisham's easy style made this a quick and enjoyable escape.
Rating: Summary: Another sleepless night. But its worth it. Thank you John. Review: John gives one of the sweetest and simplest explainations of the Gospel of Jesus that I have ever read. I hope that it helps lots of people as they read this wonderful book that shows how God works and that there is hope for everyone.Thank you John Grisham
