Rating: Summary: I almost skipped class because of this book. Review: This is by far the most entertaining books I have ever read. I am a college student and actually turned off the tv and almost missed a couple of classes because I couldn't put the book down. Lamb has certainly tapped into the veins and arteries of American women, and I think that everyone can relate somehow to Dolores. As an ex-fat person, I cringe with her every move, (at the college picnic), and I cheer her on when she tells Dante everything. What a gal! I will keep this book forever and read it over and over and over.......
Rating: Summary: It's a page turner! Review: I thought this book was wonderful! Wally Lamb brings you into the life of "Delores" and lets you go through her ups and downs from childhood to adult. I couldn't put it down.
Rating: Summary: What Dolores thinks goes though every girls mind. Review: I found She's Come Undone a very truthful book. The reason I feel that was is because I am a 15 year old girl and I know what goes though people's minds. Dolores had an extreme amount of problems that an average day girl (such as myself) goes though, only she had more. Everything went wrong in her. As a teenager, I know everyday I ask why can't I look like her or why can't I do that. Dolores had a hard life and as she grows older and more maturer her problems get harder. I think this book has a message that no matter what your problem is you have to deal w/ it. By dealing w/ these problems you will learn many things about life. There's nothing you can do to change the future, but you can hope for the best.
Rating: Summary: One of my all-time favorite books Review: I read this book a couple of years ago and still think of it often. It is one of my all-time favorites. Dolores was not a very nice person at times and not very likable but still I felt sorry for her because in the beginning of the book we saw her as a child and I liked her then and knew what events caused her to act the way she did as a teen and a young adult. This book is not about a fairy tale where people just get over things instantly. Dolores is far from perfect and struggles to overcome some horrific events that took place in her childhood but that is what makes her real.
Rating: Summary: Favorite Novel of all time! Review: I picked up this novel (2 years ago) because I thought the cover was beautiful...little did I know that their clever marketing would lead me to my favorite novel of all time. Deeply moving story... when I finished the last page, I flipped back to the beginning and read it all over again...I just couldn't say goodbye to Delores! I wanted to write to Oprah to tell her that she had to get this book out to the public, only to find that she already had! READ IT!
Rating: Summary: This book is the most incredible story, never let it end!!!! Review: She's Come Undone is the touching story of a girls life. It is written with such feeling that you will cry along with it's characters and laugh because it seems so real. This is one book that is never to be put down, it may be long but it is worth it!!!
Rating: Summary: This is every insecure womens story of healing Review: Wally Lamb is brilliant! His insight into the emotional psyche is uncanny. As I read this book, I saw my deepest emotions and insecurities unfold page after page after page...A wonderful book...We've all "come undone" at some point in our lives..this is a story of hope...I recommend it to everyone one I know.
Rating: Summary: UGG! Dolores get over it Review: My major problem with this book is I did not like the main character she annoyed me. Her constant self pity drove me up a wall. Although Lamb hopes to make her a sympathtic character he makes her an annoying one. Skip this book and read I Know This Much is True, it is a much better book.
Rating: Summary: Best ever Review: Absolutly without a dought the best book I've ever read, I would recommend it to anyone
Rating: Summary: The Story of my Life? Review: This book reached out and grabbed me from the first pages! Delores' story could have been mine in many ways. From the relationship with her mother, the betrayal by a loved one, the struggle with weight, and the eternal quest for love, Wally Lamb really gets into his readers' systems. This is truly a coming-of-age novel everyone should read.
