Summary: Just One More Doughnut!
Review: Well, after all the hype I finally read this book. I gave it one star because Lamb is a good writer, but this is one of the most maudlin, self-pitying, annoying characters that has ever been created in the history of literature. I just wanted to reach into the pages and poke Delores in the eye. Hateful, an animal abuser, mother and grandmother abuser and ultimately a self-abuser. Aside from the unfortunate rape incident, all of her misery was chosen, not inflicted. If there was one point of perfection in this book is that it was perfectly disgusting in the graphic details. One more mentioning of doughnut consumption and I was likely to hurl. Delores deserved her misery, however, I did not. The fact that other reviewers here can use words like "inspiring" and "uplifting" is ludicrous. Just goes to show you how easily Oprah can market this meaningless drivel as literature.

Summary: Very Depressing
Review: I am in the middle of this book and am not really sure if I will be able to finish it. I have become so depressed reading about this girl's life. She causes her own problems and blames others. I can't relate to her in any way. This is not a good story. I do have to say that it is written very well though. I am almost engaged by the writing alone. It's too bad the story is so awful. Mr. Lamb, please write something uplifting in the future. I would definitely buy that!

Summary: Page Turner
Review: She's Come Undone was an excellent book. It made me laugh, cry, and sometimes want to kill the main character, Dolores. Dolores is a very unlucky girl all throughout her life. Once one thing happens to her everything comes falling down at her. It is very emotionally triggering, yet inspirational. It shows you that throughout the worst of times you need to gather yourself and fight back. It also teaches you that sometimes you may need help and you should not be afraid to seek it. Many times throughout reading this book i wanted to jump inside to her life and ask her what she was thinking sometimes. I didn't understand her decisions or rational, but this made me realize how realistic the book actually was. We make so many decisions and go down so many different roads. Sometimes we can not fix our mistakes but that is life. I recomend this book it is a page turner and a true glimpse of the good and bad life has to offer.

Summary: One Of The Best I've Ever Read
Review: This book is top notch in everything: the writing, which is nothing less than outstanding; the characterization; the plotline. Finally, a character who is human, who is so perfectly flawed. I get tired of reading books where the character is perfect and whatever happens to them is someone else's fault. But Dolores is a victim of her own faults. She is so real, it is unbelivable. And yes, a lot of reviewers (I haven't read them--who has time to read almost a thousand reviews?) have probably commented on the fact that a man wrote so convincingly from a woman's point of view, but that's just the mark of a good writer.

Summary: A Must Read!
Review: I gave this 4*'s because it was a tad slow to start. But, it began to pick up very quickly. The way Wally Lamb decribes everything so realisticly - makes you want to crawl inside the pages and help Delores. I believe everyone has their opinions - but the 2 star review was very biased. Dysfunctional lives .. make you do dysfunctional things -- you tend to think dysfuntional as well. The more far fetched that things seem .. the closer they are reality. I feel this was an excellent book and deserves a reading.

Summary: This book reminded me of a friend.
Review: I first heard about this book way before it was an Oprah book but I just never got around to reading it. I let everyone borrow my copy before I actully read it. I picked up the book again a few weeks ago and put in my to read list and well actully I read it. I remember starting to read it many months before and always finding something else to do, well this time I picked it up and finished it in three days. This book was amazing I cried a few times in the book and wanted to scream a few times but this book was wonderful. the main charactor reminded me of a close friend I had in high school and still keep in contact I thought about how she had struggled with her life and how things were not going well. I would totally recommend reading ths book it is one of the best out there I've read. I'm off to go pick up something else out my to read pile.

Summary: If I could give it 10 stars I would!
Review: This is undeniably the best book I've ever read. For months after, I could not get it out of my head and I wanted Delores Price to live on forever. I am an avid reader of all types of books, but no book has ever stirred up so much emotion. It will make you laugh, cry, scream, relate and always always entertain. A page turner until the very end. Wally Lamb has captured my heart in paperback.

Summary: Sure to become your favorite book!
Review: This is definitely my favorite book. I have read the paperback and listened to the audio, and they are both spectacular! Everyone will relate to some facet of Delores Price and no one will forget her heroic tale! Kathy Najimy is a great choice as reader and really makes the book come alive. Try it!

Summary: The *best* book I ever read
Review: I'll be honest. I hate to read, especially really long books. I picked this book up and could not put it down. It was the best book I ever read. Every single experience in that book I felt as though I could actually feel what the main character was thinking. It really got me back into reading and realized that there are marvelous books like this one. I can not say enough good things about this book. Especially since it was written by a man about a female point of view. He hit the nail right on the head! Incredible! Bravo!

Summary: a masterpiece
Review: I read this book on my honeymoon, and was irritated when my husband tried to talk to me! Now, being that my husband is pretty great, this should tell you the capacity this book has to keep you turning the page... willingly! This was a FABULOUS book, with real, raw characters, and an original plot. I read this book last summer, and it is still the first book I recommend to friends. My all time favorite book!
