Review: Wally Lamb is brilliant. Everytime I read this book, I want to cry. Dolores' struggles break my heart with every page. She is so real! Lamb gets right to the core of human emotion. If you don't feel something while reading this book, you can't be truly human. I recommend it to all my friends. Go read it today. It will make you appreciate every blessing you have.

Review: This is probably one of my favorite books of all time. It was uncanny, how I could identify with Dolores and her problems. More unbelievable was that this was written by a man. Used and abused, Dolores was a disaster, a pitiable human being, and she found the strength and courage to rise up, to have hope in the future! I love this book and have recommended it to many people. I found it inspiring, heartbreaking, laugh-out-loud funny and real. So many times I would be reading, and say to myself "so true!" If you don't read this book, you are missing an opportunity to get to know a great character, and a great writer. Yes, life is not always beautiful, but we have to survive, one way or another. Summary: She's Come Undone
Review: My best friend gave me this book a few weeks ago and I read it in record time. I think that no matter what type of person you are, you can relate to this book on one level or another. It was a pleasant read, and at times, an unpleasant read. I found myself unable to put it down! I do know that other people will get a different view of this book, but it is because it is what your "life experience" has to add to the "book experience". Read it in good health! K

Summary: Gorgeous
Review: Since I can see that already 1,018 people have reveiwed She's Come Undone, I can think of nothing to do but rehash the words of others, whose reviews I've not even read so I cannot really know what I'll be repeating and what if anything (unlikely) will be original. But I loved this book. It has to be my favorite of all I've read, and that's saying something, because after a while they just don't impress me anymore. Sadly, I can't even say exactly why I enjoyed She's Come Undone so much. Something in it just deeply appealed to me. I loved the unflinching portraits of life and the three dimensional characters. It had it's rough spots, to be sure, but none come to mind at the moment.

Summary: I laughed, I cried, I sympathized
Review: This book piqued my interest in so many ways, I laughed, cried and enjoyed hearing about Dolores' difficult journey to find her real self. The topics were, at times, shocking, and don't really remind me of anyone I know and I can't identify with many of the things she experienced, but this book definitely hooked me. Too bad the ending didn't give more away in the way of Dolores' future.

Review: It never ceases to amaze me when a male author captures "us" with as much clarity and sensitivity as Wally Lamb has done in this book. This is perhaps a rather sexist comment but Mr. Lamb has an uncanny ability to give me goosebumps when I read about weight, sex and mothers. He hits home with his book about Dolores, a young frustrated misfit who has an astonishingly difficult life most of the time. It's also a funny book at times and often poignant. I can't wait to read more of Mr. Lamb's work.
