Summary: I hate it
Review: I read Wally Lamb's book, Couldn't Keep It To Myself, and found most of the stories barable. I, however, absolutly despise She's Come Undone. I believe this is bound to be one of the least interesting books I have ever read. I reached a point in the book where the main character, Delores, was faced with many different problems and had many different options and I had no idea what to expect. In most books this would be a climax where I would not want to put the book down. But frankly I didn't care. I was not interested at all in what might happen throughout the rest of the book. I put the book down out of pure boredom. After I forced my self to finish the book my opinion did not change. She's Come Undone is about as interseting as watching paint that has already dried.

Summary: intruiging but contraversial..in a good way
Review: She's Come Undone is a wonderful book about a young girl growing up into womanhood and all the troubles and hurdles she has to dodge to become the woman that she ends up being. It is a page turner with plots that you might not expect. Though some of the chapters are repititious and you know what to expect, the outcome is wonderful and I would recommend it to everyone and anyone. Because it is a coming-of-age book, it is not the kind of book that you would see your mother reading back when you were a child. There are many contraversial topics for you to think about while reading the book and wondering what is going to happen next. There are characters in the book that you will love, and some that you will hate. During sad parts, you will cry, and during the happy ones, you will rejoice. Take your own journey into Dolores Price's life, and see what the world is really like.

Summary: Worth the time
Review: Wally Lamb out did himself with this story. I had seen my friends reading this book, but i never thought of picking it up because of the thickness of the book. I finally decided to read it after hearing so much about it. This is an amazing story and i think he couldnt have written it any better.

Summary: She's come undone;
Review: I'm not sure what I can say about this book without giving away too much of the plot. Everything I want to say seems like a potential spoiler, but I'll try.

Delores Price spends the early part of childhood in a sort of childish bliss. She somewhat oblivious to the problems her parents are having. It only matters that they're somewhat well-off. Then, Delores's parents divorce and she spends the next few years of her life sitting in front of the television and eating junk food to combat her problems.

Delores is like any other teen. She just wants to be accepted and liked. She admires movie stars, she likes music and guys, but she's not accepted because she's fat. Kids at school bully her (and that's the least of her worries), but instead of fighting back, she retreats into a world of overeating and the television.

I heard some people say that Lamb can't write women. I beg to differ. He wrote women exceptionally well in my opinion. Books rarely make me cry, but this one caused me to tear up quite a few times. Delores emotions, her failures, her successes were so true, so believable, as you follow Delores through tragedy after tragedy.

Summary: A truly awful book
Review: This book is a disaster.
The blurb on the back of this book promises us humour. It has none. The so called heroine Dolores is an uninspiring character who allows a torrent of depressing things to happen. The plot is utterly contrived and I really hated the tedious way it cycled through events (depressing event followed a bit later by discussion of said event with the psychiatrist followed even later by more disscusion of it with granny).
There is no point to this book at all. I took it to the beach as one of my vacation reads and I feel like I have had my time stolen from me.

Summary: Fiction or Non-Fiction...
Review: I am a huge "chick" lit fan (Candace Bushnell, Jane Green, etc..); however, this book isn't simply chick lit--it pushes beyond conventional fiction (almost to a point where one starts to believe it is certainly non-fiction). Lamb captures the fears, feelings, movitations of average woman. Even though his main character (Dolores) may not reflect the life of the average reader, he gives us glimpses into problems (on some level) many have had to endure. Lamb's work is anything but fluff. In fact, the book is a page turner that evokes many emotions on many levels.

A MUST READ!

Summary: Not worth your time
Review: I waited and waited for the good part to come, after getting about 1/2 way through I realized there was no good part. After a while I just wanted her to kill herself and get it over with. This book drags on and on. It doesn't even really have an ending. It just ends. I don't recommend this book. I you want to read a beautifully written book that you can't put down, read White Oleander. Skip this one.

Summary: she went through so much
Review: she went through so much, but with courage and determination she rose above the past and heralded in her future. This is a fantastically written, excellent work.

Along the same lines of story I recommend a Non Fiction I read right before Shes Come Undone titled Nightmares Echo, it also captures the same determination and strength.

Summary: One of the best books i ve ever read
Review: I bought this book maybe about 9 months ago and i have read it about 8 times since then. You would never be able to guess that this novel was written by a man because Wally Lamb writes so convincingly in the voice of his female character. The novel is funny and written in a heartfelt manner, and while reading u are drawn into the troubled (and sometimes hilariously funny) life of Dolores Price. It was a joy to read.
