Review: One word. Addicting! This book was amazing. I couldn't remove it from my hands. Wally Lamb is such a great author. I keep telling myself that a male wrote this novel because Lamb gets the female gender factually correct. I want you to read this book, its easy, fun, and just plain good. I don't think that this book is suitable for youngsters, but its a great summer, or book to read on the road. Please get it now because it comes undone!

Summary: This was not my favorite for sure!
Review: This book intrigued me when I read the cover, but I was disappointed. I think the descriptive techniques are excellent, but the book is very dark and long. It did not keep my interest consistently. I read a lot of books which are deep and deal with similar issues, but there has to be some transitions, some comic relief, or a way to grip every now and then. By halfway through the book, I felt like this book was just continuing down the same sad path. Just not my style. Maybe if it was condensed a little it would flow better.

Summary: A Wonderful Book!!
Review: Let me start by saying that I'm only 13 years old, and I love reading the kind of books that you know you're going to love before you even open the cover. This book is definatly one of those books. I first heard of this book from my Aunts and older friends a few months ago. Since I'm quite a reader, I decided to read it myself. The main character has such a pain filled childhood. Her mother is a loving person, but she doesn't even have the strength to support herself. Her father is an abusive man with little to offer. To her it seems like everything she loves fails her. I felt like I could identify with this girl. Her pain in her early years made her such a strong person who just wanted to be loved, and in the end, finally found her way. Summary: Supremely memorable
Review: I read this book five years ago, re-read parts of it from time to time, and think about the characters quite a bit. Wally Lamb's story and characterization are deeply affecting. Dolores is a well-developed character, but one of the things I found equally impressive was the degree to which the author developed the other major characters, particularly Roberta. The fact that this book was written by a man, yet portrays the emotions of a woman from childhood to (almost) middle age, is mind-boggling.

Review: I had a very hard time putting this one down. The details and descriptions of the characters made me feel as if they were people that I knew. I found the story to be well written and it took me on an emotional roller coaster from the first page to the last. I would highly recommend this one!

This is a book that will leave your mouth open and that will guide you through the journey of life. Wally Lamb is an amazing author especially since he's a man!!! Review: ...I was interested in this book just after reading the back cover and the first paragraph. I then noticed it was an Oprah book and I thought to myself 'oh geez, I'll have to muddle through this one.' HOW WRONG I WAS! I read this book in 3 days and had a horrible time putting it down. And to think the author is a man!!! This book was so intense, dramatic, disturbing, and funny. There were a couple of graphic scenes, one of which I could have done without. This is a book you need to read with someone and you'll be talking about it for weeks. What a complex character Dolores was. This is DEFINITE read!...

Review: I am writing this review two years after I have read this book. I just wanted potential readers to know that I still think about characters in this book! It's just one of those books that you fall in love with and it becomes a piece of you. You will continually be astounded that this book is written by a man! It is beautifully written and all of the characters are wonderfully flawed which helps the reader assimilate with them quickly. Dolores is such an unlikely heroine which makes this book such a unique read. Mr. Lamb pays such an attention to detail without sacrificing quality. DO NOT PASS IT UP!!
