Summary: A Book That Is Well Done
Review: There are so many reviews written that I don't need to say much more than ... this is such a great book! After reading it I thought about the story for a long time. It is truly heartfelt and heartwarming. A great book to read with a wonderful message.

Summary: One of my all-time favorites
Review: This book will make you laugh and cry, but it will also stay with you long after you read it. It is intense and tragic, so you have to have a palette for this type of fiction. Wally Lamb is an AMAZING author and you may find it hard to believe that a man wrote this book from a woman's perspective. Positively one of my favorite books of all time.

Summary: It's True: You'll Never Forget Dolores Price!
Review: I've read a few good books in my day, but only She's Come Undone moved me to the point that my left fist was banging on the table while my right hand furiously flipped the pages. While reading this book I gasped out loud, cried "NO, Dolores, Don't do it!," and then sighed and shook my head when she ultimately did. It is a unique and gutteral experience to keep reading and flipping and gasping through the life of Dolores Price. She does awful things, yet you understand why she responds the way she does. She is often very unlikeable, but you care so much for her that you can only wish her the best.

I loved this book so much that before I was even finished I ordered Wally Lamb's 2nd novel, I Know This Much Is True. Don't be afraid by the 900+ pages. The reading is so quick and engaging that you wouldn't want it to end at all, apart from your desire to see the characters find safe harbor. I look forward to Mr. Lamb's future novels - I am confident that he will not disappoint.

Summary: This book embodies all that reading should be
Review: This book is pure, can't-put-it-down pleasure. It is an incredible journey. When you finish you feel like you have lived the experiences of the characters yourself. There are no words to express how wonderful this book is. You must pick it up for yourself and enjoy the beautiful ride.

Summary: Best Fictional Story of Someone's Life You'll Ever Read
Review: 'She's Come Undone' has got to be the best, fictional story of someone's life I have ever read. This book deals with real issues of growing up in a semi-dysfunctional setting & allot of what young, obese women have to face. This book however lengthy it is, is a real page-turner. You really get involved into this person's life to the point you laugh AND cry for her. By the middle of the book she's become like a best friend to you & you only want to wish the best for her & you come to tears when you see that more turmoil has come her way instead. The minor down fall to this novel however is that the character has become obese because of her own fault & plays to much on allot of the stigmas & stereotypes that large ppl are labeled with. I'd like to see a novel written from the point of view of someone who is heavy, large, whatever due to poor genetics or because of biological circumstances beyond their control; the side to obesity that you don't hear about- those who are obese because of genetic pre-disposition. Other than all that, 'She's Come Undone' is very real like fiction, I could see the story being plausible, & the mental illness due to all of her traumas is very real, too- it's something victims of child & sexual abuse face everyday, & the fact that she ended up marrying an abusive man & staying w/him for a long time is a very real thing that often happens to survivors of abuse.

For those who like good dramatic fiction this is a great read!

Summary: One of the Best Books I've ever read!!
Review: I'm an avid book reader and this book knocked me off my feet! It's such an excellent story....heartwarming, heartwrenching, funny, sad, wonderful. You'll laugh and cry throughout the entire story. I would definitely recommend this book and I can't imagine anyone not enjoying it.

Summary: Outstanding Book!
Review: I absolutely loved this book! I got [drawn] into it from the begining and I read the entire thing in 2 days....I couldn't put it down! You'll laugh and cry throughout the book. It's one of the best books I've ever read and I can't think of anyone who wouldn't fall in love with it.

Summary: Great writing, captivating story....depressing.
Review: I picked up this book recently and once I started it I couldn't put it down. This book is written exceptionally well, and the characters and story flow smoothly and realistically. I was stunned when I realized it was not an autobiography, and was written by a man! The first person voice of a female is quite convincing. I was more than impressed with the writing and the story. Any book that can evoke emotions like this does, is worth looking into.

That said, should you read this book? It depends. All of the highlights above are true, but, sadly the overall effect is depressing. I kept waiting for the situation to improve, for the story to pick up, for the victim mentality to end. It doesn't.

I gave the book 3 stars, 5 for writing, and 1 for the investment of several hours into what proved to be a draining and disturbing look into the life of a troubled young woman. I liken the experience to waking up from a bad dream, and feeling the lingering effects into the day. Your call as to whether you wish to jump on board and go along for the ride.

Summary: Life Altering!
Review: I laughed, I cried, I RELATED! I also live a town over from where Wally Lamb teaches. I had no idea my new favorite author is practically in my own backyard.

I just bought I Know This Much is True. I cannot wait for it to arrive.

Mr. Lamb----you were given such a talent---don't stop!
