Summary: The most engaging book I've read in a while!
Review: What I loved about this book was that the main character wasn't stuck up and "proper", Dolores is real, human, and NORMAL! That's what's great about the book, you can relate to her because it feels like you already know her. I didn't want to put this book down while reading it and whished it never ended when I was done, if your looking for a book to read pick up SHE'S COME UNDONE, by: Wally Lamb, you won't regret it!

Summary: A book of life for those searching for love and self
Review: I heard about this book through Oprah's book club and decided to give it a try. The overwhelming sense of isolation that Dolores felt throughout the novel mirrors so many of the feelings I have felt. We all have different ways of dealing with life and its many disappointments, be it drugs, alcohol, or food. The fact that we never know if Dolores gets her greatest wish is not as important as her last vision at the end of the book. That sighting signaled a rebirth for the character--a sense that she has finally come into herself. I loved this story--although I wouldn't read it again. I have, however, already suggested it to friends who are going through disappointments and life-evolving trials of their own. Congratulations to Mr. Lamb for his novel and his wonderful portrayal of a girl's growth into self-confidence and womanhood

Summary: Expect a period of grief when you have finished this book!
Review: One of the best books I have read recently. The characters are so well developed that they become ones' own acquaintances.I find myself wondering how Delores is today, and then realize that sadly I can no longer be a part of her life. In part, it was an opportunity to relive my own life, review it,and come to terms with it

Summary: OUTSTANDING
Review: THIS IS ONE OF THOSE RARE BOOKS THAT TOUCHED MY SOUL. I FELT SO STRONGLY FOR THE CHARACTER IN THIS BOOK THAT IT SEEMED THAT MY OWN LIFE WAS PUT ASIDE WHILE I WAS ENGROSSED IN THIS BOOK. MY POOR FAMILY COULD ONLY GAZE AT MY UNMOVING SHELL AS I WAS LIVING ALONG WITH DELORIS. THANK GOODNESS THE BOOK WASN'T ANY LONGER- THE FAMILY WOULD HAVE STARVED FOR SURE! BRAVO FOR WALLY LAMB. I STILL CAN'T BELIEVE HE IS A MAN

Summary: Engaging and absorbing. You are right there with the lead.
Review: Not generally engaged by books of this length, I nonetheless had difficulty putting it down. The lead character's self destructing, venomous ways made you feel her pain as well as suffering the pain borne by the receipients of her angry lashings throughout the course of her coming into her own. The circuitous manner in which the book takes you back to the characters who showed compassion in the lead's early life and you watch the evolution of a lost soul as she comes into her own. Aside from the shear enjoyment of this book, one could certainly see its value to someone who feels life has dealt them a bad hand and then proceeds living with a self destructive temperment. Noteworthy also, is the fact that the book is written by a man; you will absolutely believe that someone with the life experience and gender of the lead character is responsible for this prose

Summary: An amazing story, that is worth the read
Review: This was the most incredible story I have read. I was so engrossed in it from chapter one, I could not put it down. I, like many others, can hardly believe that a story so poignant and touching and personal could have been written by a man. It is written with such a feminine touch, so much so that you can feel and understand events in Dolores's life. I am anxiously awaiting Wally Lamb's next novel. He will definitly be on my favorite author's lists

Summary: I couldn't put it down!
Review: This is one of the best books that I have read in a long time. I had a hard time getting anything else done except reading this book. I thought it was a touching, yet humorous, portrayal of what it is like to be an outcast. The author gives outstanding descriptions of this girls triumphs and letdowns. I would definately recommend this book to anyone
