Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Exceptionally well written!
Review: The whole time I was reading this book I had to keep proving to myself that it was a male author writing as a woman. It completely floored me. I greatly identified with this book. There were a few times when it lagged a little bit, but other than that it was tremendous, and I could'nt put it down for anything, I hope to read more by Mr. Lamb in the future!

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: She could be any of us !
Review: After finishing this book I missed Dolores. I found myself reading slower because I wanted to hold on to her a bit longer . This is a story of innocence lost but, most of all of survival . Obsession and mental illness are only a few steps away for any of us . All the names of the TV shows and snacks made me very nostalgic.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Great writing, funny, heartfelt, must read!
Review: If I didn't know better, I would have thought the author was female. The book gives us a humorous look at the life of a girl (starting from when she was you, to her middle ages) You will laugh and cry. It leaves you with a new perspective about your life.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: Everyone should give this book a chance!
Review: This book was so great! I read it during a six hour road trip and couldn't put it down. Dolores's emotions were so accurately portrayed, I felt like it was me going through every step of her life! I didn't want this book to end, and was actually kind of sad when I reached the last page. I've recommended this book to every girl I know!

Summary: I couldn't put this book down
Review: I have never wanted a protagonist to overcome the odds more than Doloris. This book makes you laugh and cry. It is incredibly witty, and it will be days before you can get it out of your head.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: One of the best books Lamb has written
Review: She's Come Undone is so realistically written that Dolores and I became friends. When I had to stop readingI felt as though I was abandoning her. She's Come Undone was such pure enjoyment that without that book, I'm missing a part of me.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: A Mesmerizing look at depression and guilt
Review: Truly wonderful. Only 'old' souls and those of us who have truly seen life, will agree. Not a book for the woman who has dreams of fairy tale weddings, baby showers and viagra. Dolores will make you want to scream " DONT DO THAT!" ....... Dolores is a character that you remember for a long long time. I see flashed of Dolores at the mall...at the drive through... in my old pictures

a must read.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Dramatic, provoking story line...
Review: After hearing Oprah's review, I decided to listen to this novel on cassette during a long car trip. The driving time passed quickly and I enjoyed the story immensely, but the more I think about the story line, the more bothersome it becomes.

Being a fat, victimized kid myself, I related to Dolores' tortured teenage mind. I related to her vivid imaginings, and her quest to tune out and comfort herself. Due to the descriptive metaphors that this author used, the story seemed so tangible that I was captivated. I followed right along, hoping they would hang the rapist, that her mother would snap out of her selfish mourning period, that her father would take her away, that she would make new friends in her new school... But none of that happened. Eventually her sufferings became tedious, until the story became so predictable that I could barely stand to keep listening. I felt like slapping her. I thought to myself, "Come on, get over it already, quit being so stupid!" In her relationships, the worst possible outcome is what Wally Lamb chose for his tortured Dolores, until the end where she met someone as desperate as she who fell in love with her, and they lived happily ever... Whatever.

Blindly, I missed the gross political correctness of it until I read the comments written by critics of this novel. Now it seems so obvious to me. The evidence is undeniable, I feel stupid for overlooking it.

I enjoyed the twists and turns of this book much like watching ER week after week. It's ridiculously unrealistic, but it wouldn't be entertaining if it wasn't.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: 9- (But, also one very depressing book!)
Review: If you can make it through the ups and (mostly) downs of this book, you will find that it was a worthwile read. This novel was so sad, and Dolores's character so tragic that I almost could'nt bear to continue reading at times. It seemed that with every few pages I turned a new tragedy was awaiting Dolores. The author painstakingly chronicles Dolores's life, and in doing so he creates a character towards whom the reader is compelled to develop some sort of feelings. Disgust, hatred, pity, admiration - these are all feelings that I felt for Dolores at some point in the novel.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This book was very interesting.
Review: This book although it started out slow was one I would recommend to other readers. It tells the life in detail of a young girl who became a woman before her time. Anyone who thinks he/she has a burden that you will never over come just read this book, after hearing about Delorise life yor problems will feel much lighter.
