Summary: Interesting, but not as interesting as it could be.
Review: On the whole, this is a pretty interesting book, and probably tells you more than you ever needed to know about Disney and Eisner. But for such a potentially captivating subject, later sections of the book become quite dull, and it often feels as if the reader is getting a Disneyfied version of events. Also marred by a few typos.

Summary: The Disney Touch re-visited?
Review: That how I read this "new" book from Michael Eisner. I got the audio version and from the very beginning it seemed as though I were listening to the Disney Touch all over again, atleast through the first 2/3 of the book. The only thing new was Frank Wells' death and Katzenbergs departure and the Ovitz debacle.

Summary: Highly recommended -- the best book I've read in a long time
Review: The book is very well written and a pleasure to read. If you have any interest in the entertainment industry, the book does not disappoint with vignettes of Eisner's experiences at ABC, Paramount, and finally Disney.

Anyone who grew up in the 70's and 80's will find it fascinating to read about Eisner's early career at ABC and Paramount, and his influence in some of the television programs and movies that shaped our generation. And for the fan of Disney, the book is a must read. You won't be able to put it down.

The only criticism I have of the book is that some of Eisner's stories were too short -- more details about his experiences would have been fascinating to read.

From a business point of view, I found the whole story about Eisner's reshaping of Disney -- his very human experience of seeking the job with the Disney board is well told by he and Tony Schwartz. He doesn't try to compare himself to Walt Disney, but instead relates on how he is trying to continue Disney's dream of what the company could be.

If you are thinking about ordering a copy, do it today! You won't be disappointed.

Summary: Great book about Disney during 1984-1998
Review: The book is well written. I especially like the conflicts/problems that M. Eisner endures with his (ex) colleges. And the problems that Disney faces during the building of Disney Paris and the acquisition of ABC. I recommend it to anyone who is interested in how a creative company like Disney does business.

Summary: Critical success factor - Innovation
Review: The whole book is about Michael Eisner and the Disney Kingdom.

Michael Eisner is the soul of the Disney Kingdom. He creates the success of Disney by his innovation and good managaement skills.

From this book, I learnt that the critical success factor for a entertainment business is innovation. People want something new and exicting, if you fail to fulfill their needs, you are the loser of the game.

After reading this book, I know how to increase my bargaining power, and how to put myself in a supervior position during a negotiation.

This is really a good book!!

Summary: Excellent book on business and the entertainment industry
Review: This book details Michael Eisner's life and the road he followed that eventually led him to the Walt Disney Company. I found the entire book interesting, but being a fan of Disney, I was mostly interested in the events that took place after he took the helm at Disney.

I enjoyed reading about the recent events at Disney told from the perspective of the company's leader. I already knew a little about these events, but with Mr. Eisner's perspective, I think I better understand how the pieces of the puzzle fit together into a single story.

I like the way that Mr. Eisner combines the concepts of vision, creativity, quality and innovation with the company's business initiatives. I am a student of business and in my opinion; this is exactly what today's businesses (not just entertainment businesses) need to be doing in order to remain competitive in the global as well as the domestic economy. Mr. Eisner's descriptions portray the company as a very vital and dynamic company that is committed to its vision of the future and reaching its goals. What a marvelous place to work it must be . . . a true dream job could be found at a company like this.

I recommend this book to anyone that is interested in business strategy and innovation. It is also a great book for those interested in Disney or the entertainment industry in general.

Summary: This book is self-serving garbage
Review: This book is 464 pages of boring self-glorification. It also neglects to mention anything negative in Mr. Eisner's life. You get the impression that he views himself as a perfect specimen of mankind and incapable of doing anything wrong. Reading through these 400+ pages of self gratification is also extremely BORING! He doesn't mention anything about the other people at Disney or the contributions they made to build his empire.

Summary: My whole way of thinking changed while reading this book.
Review: This book is truly one of the best books I have read in a while. I bought copies for all of my friends and realatives. I learned much about management and people in general. You may not like Eisner personally (I do) but you cannot argue with the success of the company. This book is a MUST read for anyone who even casually likes the Disney corporation. I came to understand many things about Disney that I did not know.
