Summary: Too bad the Plot is unoriginal
Review: The Dragonlance series was my first experience with the fantasy genre over 10 years ago. Since then, I have read many fantasy books and dabbled into D&D gaming.

I thought this book was well written and humorous at points. The only thing is that the plot is unoriginal. It's straight out of your typical AD&D game: find a treasure map, go through a dungeon, defeat a monster, get the treasure, the end.

I read fantasy to be presented with something new or a twist on an old subject. Unfortunately, this book did neither. You will be entertained, but the plot has been done a thousand times before

Summary: A great book!!!
Review: This book was the book that really got me into Dragonlance. This book is full of action throughout the story! This is a book you should really buy!

Summary: Eminent Weis exalts DL's doomed disposition
Review: I thought Dragons of Summer Flame marked the end of an illustrious era in creative fantasy. I had no wish to waste my time or money on the so called "Fifth Age", and for the record, I still don't!

Had the cover not contained the four letters WEIS, I would not have bought this book. And in so doing, would have missed out on the best Dragonlance novel since Test of the Twins. No other author could have written such a captivating story, making you feel empathy for draconians of all creatures. With liberated freedom to explore and create anew, the characterisation is first rate; in particular with Selquist. Now here is a figure who appears to have the combined idiosyncrasies of Tanis, Flint and Tas; a reflection of how unique he is. He is a thief (and does he know it!), but a thief you can't help but adulate. As for Kang, you respect and get so in tune with the guy that you have to keep reminding yourself that he is a draconian.

What the book lacks in terms of urgent plot development, it more than makes up for with witty dialogue and novel twists. As you would expect, the narrative itself is faultless, straight from Weis-Hickman school of writing. Go on.. try it, you won't be discontented.

Summary: Better then the Chronicles Trilogy!
Review: This was a great book! The storyline starts off right away, and only stops for brief moments of time. The only thing I could that I didn't like is that it took to long for the Draconians and the Hill Dwarves to do what they finally did at the end (I won't tell or else it would spoil the book)

Summary: Dragon Army Corps of Engineering to the rescue!
Review: For anyone who has longed to read a full novel about the Dragon Army Corps of Engineering, here is your reward for good patience. Now, I was able to read about their struggles within themselves to acknowledge the fact that they have no true future on Krynn. Or do they? Their "battles" with the dwarves are enough for anyone to want to read this book. And who will forget their consternation at a dwarven brewmaster who would rather smash all the kegs of dwarf spirits before surrendering it to the Draconians? And this is reason for heartbreak for all involved! If you think the Draconians can only be evil lizard-men with no feelings of compassion, you're wrong. Read this book with a warm heart and you'll see them as a race on Krynn worthy of honor, and life.

Summary: An excellent story, with an excellent future
Review: I am an avid Sci-fi/fantasy reader, and among the books I have read, this one almost rates along with "The Legend of Huma", by Richard Knaak. I do reccommend that you read the short stories that take place before "The Doom Brigade", they are contained in "The Dragons at war", which is directly before the book takes place, and "The Dragons of Krynn", which is some time before the book. This is an excellent book, and a must read.

Summary: Action, adventure, and above all, comic relief.
Review: This book is about the draconians from "The First Dragonarmy Engineer's Secret Weapon" short story in the book, "The Dragons At War". These dracnians are also in a short story from,"The Dragons Of Krynn" (aren't they lucky!) . I loved this book for its substance, and strength, things you don't get in just any Dragonlance book. But in order to really enjoy this book, you have to be alert, and remember a lot of things from the either one of the short stories. If you don't, it doesn't really matter that much. I'm just saying that because I followed my advice, and enjoyed the book a LOT!!!!!!!!!

Summary: WOW!!!!
Review: The only thing I have to say about this is: If you like the adventures of the Draconians, this is absolutely the book for you. It has everything you want in a Dragonlance book. I would also recommend 'The Dragons At War', as it has the prelude to this book inside. thank you for your time in reading this.

Summary: Hilarious!
Review: I have read many books by Margaret Weis, but I was skeptical about the idea behind this book. I heard it was about a bunch of draconians, and I thought it sounded boring. Well, I finally got around to reading it, and am I ever glad I did! The draconians came across as interesting and believable, and I actually found myself rooting for them from time to time, a thing I never thought I would find myself doing. These ARE draconians, after all!

As an added bonus, this book was hilarious! Very few books actually make me laugh aloud, but I was practically rolling around on the floor. If you are a Dragonlance fan who is used to reading dark, serious, dramatic novels, there is not a lot of that here. But there is enough action and humor to keep you turning the pages. I mean, what other book has the commander of an army telling his men, "As you know, we're on the verge of a crisis situation. Our supply of dwarf spirits is running low." (p. 33, paperback edition) If you want a good laugh, and/or you are interested in the draconians during the Chaos war, read this book!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: the book was really good, it was exciteing and made me keep
