Summary: Brians Winter
Review: Brian's Winter is a book leading off of Gary Paulsen's Hatchet, if rescued in the summer but had to survive the winter. Brian's was stranded in a plane crash. He has to learn how to survive in the harsh conditions during the winter season. A part in the book that I found neat was when he lives of a deer carcass for a couple months. Then he takes the deer fat and boils it and makes a stew and eats it just before he goes to sleep. He makes friends with a skunk and gets attacked by a bear. This book will take you on a good wholesome adventure. This book is a really good book because it goes in depth of how he builds a shelter, cooks food, makes clothes, and survive the winter season.

Summary: Brian's Winter
Review: Have you ever pondered what would happen if Brian was never rescued in Hatchet? Well, this is what happened in the compelling novel Brian's Winter by Gary Paulson. Brian was stuck in the northeastern wilderness with the winter rapidly arriving.
In Brian's Winter Brian struggles to fight the elements when he failed to notice, the changing leaves and many other signs that told him that the seasons were changing. One of the reasons this happened was that he had many encounters with animals and was busy making tools to protect himself.
One night, as it was getting cooler and Brian was just getting drowsy, BANG gunshots rang through the air, Brian decided to search for any signs of humans in the morning.
I enjoyed Brian's Winter very much and highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoyed the first book (Hatchet) and/or enjoys the outdoors. I would advise reading the books in order or you may become confused. Will Brian survive? Will he find out who made the gunshots? To find out you will have to read Brian's Winter.

Summary: Brian's Winter
Review: Brian is a 13 year old boy who is sent out to reenact his journey in the wilderness. (This is the second book in the series and you really should read Hatchet first.)But this time he is not alone. In the second book, Brian brings along a man named Derek and they set of on a journey. Will they make it? Well, a horrible storm hits in the middle of the night and a lightning bolt hits Derek. Derek falls into a coma not knowing what to do. Will Brian try to help Derek through his coma? Read the book Brian's Winter."

I really enjoyed this book because it was very adventurous and you really never know what is going to happen. I could tell that the author included lot of authors craft like dialogue and similes. I would recommend this book to anyone who is really into adventure stories and who like to read about things that the authors actually experienced.

Summary: Brian's Winter
Review: Gary Paulsen's book Brian's Winter is the story of what would have happened had Brian not been rescued as he was in his first book Hatchet. I enjoyed this sequel very much and couldn't put it down after I picked it up. The only reason I give this book 4 out of 5 stars is because of what I feel was an anticlimactic ending. This is a perfect book for a rainy weekend when you have nothing to do. I recommend that before reading Brian's Winter that you read Hatchet since it is referred to often and you may miss a few points if you don't. This is a good book for readers who enjoy nature, but keep in mind that sometimes nature can be gory. This is a very good book and I highly recommend it.

Summary: Brians Winter
Review: The book Brains winter is the sequel to the book hatchet. This is the story if Brian hadn't been rescued.
I enjoyed this book very much. It hooked me right from the beginning and I couldn't put it down. The only reason I would give this book 4 stars instead of 5 is because I did not like the ending that much. I will not ruin it for you though incase you want to read it. This is the perfect book if it's a rainy weekend and you have nothing to do. I suggest that you read the first book(Hatchet)before this one because it refers to the book often. If you are someone who likes nature I think this the book for you. This was a very good book, and I highly recommend it.

Summary: Brian's Winter
Review: _____Brian's Winter is the sequel to the first thrilling book by Gary Paulsen, Hatchet. Brian's Winter is a realistic fiction and action/adventure story. Gary Paulsen's story takes place in the southern midland of Canada in an unknown forest in the present time period. The way Paulsen describes this setting allows for a very realistic place and time period. Brian, the main and virtually the only human character in the story, arrived in this unknown area accidentally. He was leaving from his mother's home in New York for his father's house in midland Canada. On the way there with only one other man in the plane-the pilot-he experienced a terrible tragedy as they crashed their way back down to land.
_____As they fell and fell, they made there way into an L-shaped lake, directly near the small opening in a rock wall where Brian eventually would make shelter. Brian Robeson, the very self motivational and easily developmental boy that he is, taught himself to make weapons, traps, find food, hunt with those weapons, and other odd jobs that the average person does not know how to do. Using his keen, descriptive writing style, Paulsen guides the boy through winter, even though he faces many challenges and often has to battle with the blood and gore of hunting.
_____I feel that the moral to this story would have to be an obvious one for all. You should NEVER give up, and if you put your mind to it, anything is possible. So, in essence, this book and the rest in the series, was written to inspire it's readers with this message. Even though I feel this book is targeted mainly for kids about at the middle school age because of the age of Brian and how he acts and feels about life, it is suitable for people of all ages.
_____Lastly, my opinion of this story is a high one. I have very much enjoyed reading all of Gary Paulsen's books I have read to this date. I think that Paulsen has a unique writing style and a way with nature that really guides along the reader whether they're a nature person or not. I strongly recommend anyone looking for a good read to pick up this book and the others in the series.

Summary: Brian's Courage
Review: The first time I read this book, I think I was too young to understand it. I thought it was boring, and talked about things I had no intention of trying to figure out. For a project at my school, I was required to read a book about survival. I remebered Brian's Winter and did not really want to read it, however, I chose it as the survival book I would report on.
I started reading it and instantly saw how much I had missed before. It was a wonderful book! It showed about how someone in my age group survived through Winter in the Canadian wilderness and fended for himself. I enjoyed this book and its realistic fiction holds it a spot among my favorite books.
