I really enjoied this book because I really like "outdoors books" and this is a perfect example of an "outdoors book." I really recomend this book to anyone who is looking for a good book
Rating: Summary: Brian's Winter Review: This was a great book. I loved that we were able to find out about Brian after the summer. Gary Paulsen responded well to his readers comments.
Rating: Summary: Brian's Winter Review: i was very suprised that this book was just as good if not better than Hatchet, but it was. The book is very discriptive, I loved the way he went into details it helped me imagine everything that he went threw during his winter in the woods. Because, of this the book came alive, and was graphic. I recommend this book to all who love to imagine what they are reading because trust me this book will do it for you.
Rating: Summary: Brian's winter Review:
Brian's Winter is a short novel written by Gary Paulsen. It only has one character, Brian. This makes it easy to follow. You don't have to remember so many names. I thought it was a good book. It is interesting so you wont get bored. It is about Brian trying to stay alive by himself in a forest, far from any civilization. How did he get there? Well, in the hatchet, the prequel to Brian's Winter, he was on a small plane, just him and the pilot, on his way to go to see his dad. Unfortunately the plane crashed and only Brian survived. The plane landed in a lake near a cliff. There were lots of trees too. He was badly hurt from the crash, but not enough to stop him from building a shelter. He also got a fire to stay warm. It's been a few months now and winter is coming. Brian made it though summer, but the winter months will be much harder to endure. The cold is one factor that will make winter rough, but hunting and snow will also make things different. There is much for him to learn. If you want to find out if he makes it though the winter you'll have to read the book your self. I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: lost in the bloody cold wood's Review: Have you ever thought you were lost or have been lost? Well, Brian Robeson's plane crash landed in the Canadian Wilderness. To survive he must rely on his intelligence, his instincts, and one tool: a hatchet. He must do all of this facing the Canadian fall and winter. The genre of this story is a realistic fiction. There is nothing in this story that cannot happen.
I thought this was a great book because just like all of Gary Paulsen's other books this one is on survival. It was one of those books where you just cannot put it down. The style of writing in this story is what really sets if off from other books in this genre. Gary Paulsen describes everyting that Brian does as if he was right there next to him. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to read a suspenseful story, which they can't put down.
