Rating: Summary: Blizzard Review: This is a great book for enjoyment reading. I really liked this book because i like being out in the wild hunting, fishing ect. It is a way to live out in the wild by your self making your own weapons and to kill animals to servive. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes to be out in the wild and likes to servive on there own
Rating: Summary: A Good Story of Winter Survival Review: Brian, a kid lost in the wilderness, has to survive the harsh Canadian winter alone. This book gives you a realistic view of what might happen if you really had to spend the winter alone in the Canadian wilderness. I'd say it's a good book for ages 9-12. A person vs. nature conflict I would give it 5 stars.
Rating: Summary: Brian's Winter Review: Imagine being stranded in a forest after a plane crash with just a hatchet, nature, and no one to help you! In the extraodinary and suspenseful survival book, Brian's Winter, a 13 year old boy named Brian Robeson has to survive in the threatening wilderness during the winter alone. Brian has to use his head and his skill to hunt for his food as well as produce his own weapons and living quarters. With bear attacks and frost-biting temperatures. Will Brian survive? Will he ever find civilization? If you like stories about the wilderness, with lots of suspense, adventure, and vivid language, Brian's Winter is the book for you. on a rating from 1-10, we would give this book an 8. Appropriate for grades late 4th to 6th.
Rating: Summary: gary paulsen is great Review: I think people would like this book. It's adventerist and well discribed,Gary Paulsen is a very good writer. It was fall, he was sitting in a co-poilet seat all the soden it crash. with a survive pack he must live through the winter. Will he survive.
Rating: Summary: I Hated it Review: I didn't like it because there was a lot of killimg involved and the authour described it very dramatically. Some parts of the book were just plain boring and it didn't lead to anything. I would not reccomend this book.
Rating: Summary: Brian's Winter Review: Do you want to know what will happen if Brian wasn't rescued? If you do this book is for you. In this book he faces his deadiest enemy, Winter and he finds something he hasn't seen in a long time
Rating: Summary: To learn more about the wilderness Review: If you have read Hatchet, this book would be the next to read . It is about nature , how it would be if you were to get lost in the woods. It is just before winter, your out in the middle of no where. You don't know which way to go or just stay. No one else is out there with you. You have been out there for 2 months. One day your out walking and then you run into a house with a family of four that has lived right behind your shelter with out you knowing about it.
Rating: Summary: Freezing Winter Review: If you liked The Hatchet and The River you'll definitely like this book. Brian's Winter is the better of the three first books. I haven't read The Return, but it looks good. In the book there are new and more exciting adventures than before. What is really cool about this book is the fact that you could actually survive doing what Brian does to live. Gary Paulsen writes great books that are realistic. This is a must read, and I'm looking forward to a fourth sequel to The Hatchet anytime now. It is called The Return.
Rating: Summary: Thrilling and outstanding! Review: This book is an amazing book. The thrilling detail and the outstanding words used to discribe the events in this book are of awsome power. Gary Paulsen is an outstanding author and he should be and may be, but not to my knowledge, the number one author for kids.
Rating: Summary: The best one yet Review: Gary Paulsen is a very talented writer because he knows how to build up suspense. It seems that the character is alive and real so it makes you absorb the knowledge more. His makeshift Thanksgiving made me so hungry I went on a feeding frenzy and raided the refrigerator. If you liked this book or the other Brian books you will like his book Canyons. I 'm so sad that it's finished and I can't read it any more.
