Summary: Didn't Want it to end
Review: I loved this book so much that I went on the search to find the sequel. I did find it but they do not sell it in the USA, I had to get it from the United Kingdom. The name of the book is Tatiana and Alexander. It was just as good as this one.

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Worth reading
Review: Not as Good as Tully- but still, I could not put it down.
The first half of the novel was exciting and unpredictable. Then halfway through came 100 pages of ridiculous (and not real) sex scenes. Sorta like Sidney Sheldon junk: where everyone always has orgasms, etc. The Hero also becomes weird and possessive, although he slept with her sister! The war and history of the Soviet Union are extremely interesting. Given the "sudden" end, there will no doubt be a sequel. And I will have to read it!

Summary: Not worth reading
Review: I am amazed this book has received such rave reviews from readers. It is excessively sentimental, overdramatised and repetitous. The love stories are really corny. As much as I wanted to read this book, having just returned from St.Petersberg, I foound it impossibly dull and poorly written. After several chapters, I had to drop it.

Summary: Heart-wrenching, Tear-jerking Epic Tale
Review: I can honestly say I have never read a book that tore me up as badly as this one. Really. And I read A LOT of books. After a slow start, the story propels readers along in sheer frustration alone. The ultimate happiness achieved by Tatiana and Alexander is only matched by the tragic conclusion to the story. Readers get a first-hand glimpse of communal life in the USSR during WWII. The settings are genuine, as well as the characters. My eyes were swollen, my nose red and running as I sped through the final pages. My 4 year old son asked if I was okay. I discovered there is a second book "Tatiana and Alexander" which [was] not available in the USA. After I pulled myself together, I went to Amazon.co.uk to purchase the book...

Summary: My all time favourite!
Review: When I got the book first (and it just got pulished in Germany a couple of weeks ago) I was a little disappointed. Never heared about the author before. And the translation of the title says "The lovers of Leningrad" - 'Just great!' I thought. Sounded pretty much like one of those Rosamunde Pilcher's novels. But somewhere between page 70 and 150 I really got hooked to the story and could not drop the book even though I never wanted it to end. I really felt like knowing the characters by myself. At the end I really got emotional and was very thankful to learn that there was a sequal which I ordered from Great Britain (it's not available in Germany, yet). I can't even put the finger on what made the novel so special - but it really is! Thank you Paullina Simons for those two books!

Summary: The best book in the world!!!!!!
Review: The Bronze Horseman by Paullina Simons is the best book I have EVER read!! Set in Russia during WWII, it educates the reader about the price it took for Russia to win that war, but it is told in such a way, that not for a minute it seems like a bunch of historical facts. It is a love story with characters whos' fates interfear with each other in surprising twists and turns.
This is one of those books that you really care about what's going to happen to the characters, and it will not leave your head for a long time after you've turned the last page.
There is a sequel to this book called the Bridge to Holy Cross, and although it has some exciting events happening, I was extremely dissapointed with it's ending. If you want a good book, read The Bronze Horseman, I guarantee it will become your favourite book, just like it has mine. Can't say the same for it's sequal though.

Summary: I loved this book
Review: This is one of my all time favourite books, I've read it many times and have passed it on to a lot of friends who have also loved it.

If you love this book, you must read The Bridge to Holy Cross, the sequel, which actually runs concurrently with the Bronze Horseman and also completes the story of Tania & Alexander.
