Summary: Breathnach writing for herself
Review: Since Breathnach apparently separated and divorced her husband between books, the second book seems like something written for herself to get through this difficult time. I found her idea of the existence of a "soul mate" a bit dramatic and immature. Soul mates are created, not born.

Summary: This book made me proud to be a women.
Review: I have read numerous books on the subject of womenhood. This is the first book that celebrates not only being a women, but does so on every level. There is not male bashing, only the glory that we deserve. She shows us how to see the power that we have as women and if we have lost it how get it back. The power is Something More. To love ourselves unconditionally with the help and the guide of the Spirit. Thank you Sara for writing this book. I am glad I had the courage and the wisdom to read it.

Summary: Something More...the end of my settling for everything less.
Review: I am on my third reading of Something More and even now, I can't begin to express the change it has brought to my life. I've spent my entire life in fear of wanting more and either it wasn't mine to have or it was my responsibility to see that everyone I came in contact with have it first. At age 42, not only has it's content help me to begin letting my passions guide my life along with my heart and my mind, (I began taking violin lessons....a life long dream) but it has also help me to say, "enough" to all those hidden fears that have guided my every move. I've been in a "wrong" marriage for nearly 17 years, I've known it was wrong for nearly all 17. I settled because it was easier, less painful and a lot more economical or that's how I always rationalized "staying". I'm not saying because of Sara's book that I'm ready to leave it, but I certainly know and feel I will have the something more I've known was out there either in this marriage or out of it. Be very aware, this book may come at a time when your at your very weakest, you will however, leave it at probably the strongest time in your life. Thank you Sara....just my being willing to dare to now make this journey is a major turn in my life. I'll never go back.....I know I never have to.

Summary: Thank You Sarah!!!!
Review: This time in my life is very confusing. Somehow I happened upon this book and tho it hasn't solved my problems I feel a tremendous amount of peace in just knowing I am not crazy. I am in the middle of a nasty divorce and custody battle with a husband who thinks I should just walk away from "his" life and money and kids ...like I had no part in any of it. As I fight I have felt tired and scared for entire days that have turned into months. I knew this book was for me when I picked it up and flipped open to a quote that read," We must be willing to get rid of the life we've planned, so as to have the life that is waiting for us." I felt hope. Now I feel a sense of purpose and power, a peace that this book has helped me to find. I tell everyone about this book. If I had the money I'd buy a copy for every women I know. As it is I nag them until they buy it. Noone has been dissapointed.

Summary: I am not alone in my thoughts.
Review: After 5 years of feeling like I must be losing my mind and my husbands insistence that I have, it was a wonderful experience to learn that women have dared to write about the lack of fulfillment and support and how it affects womens spirit since the late 1800's. I have found a sisterhood with these women.

Summary: "Something More" is a blessing bound in the shape of a book.
Review: I purchased "Something More" in December of 1998, as a special Christmas gift for my mother. On November 20th, 1998, one week before the first anniversary of my mom's mother's death, my father abandoned his wife of 36 years, and his three adult children. He shocked us all by leaving my mother for a woman who is 16 years younger. I spent almost half an hour in a bookstore, searching for a book that would help my mother deal with the pain and low self-esteem she was struggling with. I had 2 "Chicken Soup" books in my hand when I found "Something More". I was drawn to the promise in the title alone, and then, as I flipped through the pages, to the personal insight of the author. Ms. Breathnach gives hope to the hopeless, faith to the faithless, and love to the unloved. I read the book in one sitting, and, alternately, cried and laughed through most of it. This book is for anyone who is searching for their "authentic self", hoping to better themselves and reaching for higher inspiration. My mother was blessed by this book, and counts it as one of her unexpected blessings; it will enrich the lives of anyone who dares to open its pages. There are stories in this book that will touch the hearts of women, especially those who may be going through challenges in their lives, such as divorce, separation, illness, death of a loved one, or any of life's struggles. "Something More" is simply just that! And more! Thank you Ms. Breathnach for the "Something More" that you have given to my mother.

Summary: Soul Quenching!
Review: I truly enjoyed reading this book. I usually go through a book quickly from begining to end and highlight lines that have particular meaning for me, and then I have it as a reference to go back and read or to see how far I have progressed. It is a book that truly touched my heart and one that I will pass on to my daughter. Just want to say thank you so much Sarah for writting "Something More" and also for "Simple Abundance - A Daybook of Comfort and Joy." They are both on my desk at work and people at work are always commenting on how "together" I must be! Thanks again!

Summary: The first 100 pages says it all
Review: Ms.Breathnach's book is much ado about nothing. After 100 pages she has nothing new to say. I simply couldn't finish the final tribble. Her appproach is highly ego-centric and a dose of Dr. Laura would do her good. Happiness and fulfillment are more often measured by responsibility, fortitude, and joy in the life created. Not in the bodies of men less than our soul mates lining the path to our front door. Does she never speak to the children of wrecked marriages in the name of women finding themselves. I find women like this boorish and endlessly introspective. Yes, the spirit lies within, but the work of the spirit is in the small, dull, and monotonous events of everyday lives. Mine is full of joy and authenticity.
