Summary: A quick and highly inspirational read
Review: That Hamilton Jordan has been able to prevail against the odds is amazing. This book is insightful, touching and filled with important, useful information for anyone who has a family member struggling with cancer (or any other catastrophic disease). I found the story about his hospital encounter with Roy Cohn to be fascinating, human and honest. There were things I found curious, though. Mr. Jordan tells much about his political career, with stories about his rise and fall interwoven throughout the cancer narrative. As one who is familiar with his career, I was as surprised by what he included as by what he left out. (Ross Perot and Ed Rollins, for example.)

Summary: An Inspirational Book For All

Summary: What a Life
Review: This book touched me on more levels than anything I've read in a long time. As a person, I was moved by Mr. Jordan's courage and compassion in dealing with his diseases and in his crusade to help others do the same. As someone (like most) whose loved ones have died of cancer, I was empowered by Mr. Jordan's committment to finding a cure for the illness in its many forms. As a history buff, I was intrigued by Mr. Jordan's memories of everything from growing up in the segregated South to life at the White House. This book really does have something to teach everyone, interwoven with stories about a truly remarkable life.

Summary: Fantastic Memoir...Best Since Angela's Ashes!
Review: This is a powerful and moving memoir.....touching on Vietnam, civil rights struggle in the South and author's time in Washington with Jimmy Carter BUT the theme is his three different cancers by age 50 and how he fought to overcome them....this is a special book that made me feel blessed to have my good health. Highly recommend it in spite of my hardcore Republican background. Read it in one sitting....could not put it down. Headed for bestsellers list for sure.

Summary: A Powerful Book & A Page Turner!
Review: This is the best book I have read this year. Jordan tells the story of having three cancers but it is also the story of his life and all the interesting people that he has known and brushed against. It has a forrest Gump quality to it. I laughed at times and cried at others. A must read!

Summary: A Masterpiece
Review: Unquestionably the finest memoir that I have read in my life. Mr. Jordan powerfully describes his most personal experiences with both cancer and American politics in an incredible manner. This book contains stories that every human should have the opportunity to read. Mr. Jordan is a cancer survivor, a family man, a politial leader, and most importantly a gentleman. My recomendation is to not only buy this book for yourself, but also copies for every person who is important to you as well. You certainly will be glad that you did. I thank Mr. Jordan for writing such a wonderful book for us all to read. It is certainly as good as they come.
