Summary: buy this book!
Review: You must buy this book!!! Especially if you like VERY hot love scenes, good characterization, and a fast and funny plot! It's Jennifer Cruise at her very, very best. You'll laugh out loud as you read, and it's definitely a keeper--you'll read and re-read this book. I've re-read it several times. Buy this book!!

Summary: A Really Good Read
Review: This was the first book I ever read by Jennifer Crusie, and after reading it for the second time, I want to read more. This book was a terrific romance novel. I loved the character of Sophie Dempsey, she wasn't just some beautiful bimbo she was a strong headed woman and when I read it I pictured myself as her. I think if you are looking for a romance novel this would be a good choice!

Summary: This book is a hoot!
Review: I am writing this review after having read the book twice...and boy, am I glad I waited. This is the first JC book that I have read and, after reading it the first time, I was left with a feeling of hoo-hum. I think it was because I had been reading mainly Linda Howard books. Linda Howard's books all have very alpha males as the heroes and I think that predjudiced me to JC's main male characters. I can almost understand some of the low star reviews, because I think they were looking for Phin, the hero, to be more aggressive, more macho. Phin is not your usual romance novel hero. He does not set the world on fire. He almost comes off as passive. After reading more of JC's books, I have come to understand and appreciate her male characters more. They are real. They do not run around trying to convince the woman and the rest of the world that she is "His Woman." JC's heroes even get beat up! That in itself is anathema in a romance book. The bottom line is this: JC's hero's are flawed and real. They are not supermen, but good men. The only real problem I have with her books are the sex scenes. I mean, she starts off well, but they sort of fizzle out. Again, maybe I'm too used to Linda Howard's and, to a degree, Lori Foster's books. Now those are some HOT scenes! The best part of any JC book is the dialogue. She writes great dialogue full of humor, intelligence, wit, and sincerity.

Summary: Talk About Temptation...
Review: Man...talk about Temptation. This book was awesome. I picked it up on a whim and I do not regret it. This was one of the best romance novels I have ever read. Mostly you wouldn't read a romance novel for plot but this book has one. Not only does it have a plot but it's a good one. Cruise is masterful at weaving an intricate story while keeping a great focus on character relationships. For anyone that reads this book...I have two words for you "discovery fantasy". I laughed out loud through the whole book. It's a must read. For those of you that prefer historical to contemporary romance...give this book a chance. You'll love it. For the rest of you...it's a must read.

Summary: Tempt Me Some More!!
Review: I loved this book for all the reasons everyone else before me has talked about. I bought this book not because it was a romance, but because I'm a mystery lover, and since this had an unsolved murder, it was pitched as a mystery. Miss Marple never got involved in anything quite like THIS mystery! It sucked me in from the first chapter, and from then on I had to find out what happened next. Nothing was simple, from painting the water tower to making the film that drew Sophie and Amy Dempsey to Temptation in the first place; but none of that could hold a candle to the actual murder itself. I read a lot of mysteries, but I can safely say that I have never read anything as complicated, convoluted, or outright hilarious as the murder in Temptation.

There's another reason I liked this book so much. I'm also a movie lover, and I was pleasantly surprised to see the movie references in this story. Jennifer Crusie can quote lines from The Princess Bride. For that reason alone she got points with me.

I will definitely read more of Jennifer Crusie's work based on how much I enjoyed Welcome To Temptation. But what I'd REALLY like to see is a return to Temptation to see where Sophie, Amy, Liz, Phin, Rachel, Davy, and every other resident of Temptation goes next. I don't remember the last time I felt that way after finishing a book.

Summary: I WANT A SEQUEL!
Review: I stayed up until 4AM last night to finish this book. This was one of the most funny and engaging books I've read in a long time, so much so that its minor flaws are definitely forgivable. Loved the characters! As my headline stated, I want a sequel to find out what's going to happen to Sophie and Phin, Amy, Davy, Rachel, and everybody else. This book was awesome! (Though I was not expecting all the sex...then again, neither was Sophie.)

Summary: Utter delight
Review: Lovable, intelligent, complex main characters, hilarious dialogue, and a murder mystery make this a novel to keep and enjoy over again. Definitely something to read on a blue, rainy day.

Summary: I loved the book, but the bookcassette is even better!
Review: I bought this bookcassette because I get bored driving long distances and, since I really loved this book, I thought that it would be a pleasant diversion. Well, it's better than pleasant! The narrator, Aasne Vigessa, makes all the characters, including the men, come to life...Sophie, Phin, Amy, Wes, Clea and the rest. I find myself laughing out loud as I'm driving down the road. The only problem is that you can't listen to it with your kids in the car... the love scenes are way too steamy!!! Try this on your next long drive...the time will fly by.

Summary: Pass the Time with a Grin
Review: I've read several of Crusie's books and this was the best of the lot. For an easy read with laugh-outloud lines, this will help pass the time on the train ride into work! Reccommend for the person who wants to forget everything for an hour.

Summary: A Must Read!
Review: This is the third book by Crusie that I've read, and it is definitly my favorite. I absolutely loved it! The characters are are to die for, and an interesting plot that just keeps getting better and better. The dialoug is laugh-out-loud funny, and i just couldn't put it down. Phin and Sophie make really great main characters, I would love to see this one made into a movie! Crusie definitly gets a ten from me for Welcome to Temptation. You must read it!
