Summary: Major Disappointment
Review: I waited months for this book to come out having recently become a Jennifer Cruisie fan. I loved Tell Me Lies and Crazy For You, especially the laugh-out-loud humor. But Welcome to Temptation was a far cry from these other two books. There were too many characters that had no bearing on the story and cluttered up the plot. I enjoy hot romance and sex but this had neither as far as I was concerned and her overzealous use of the "F" word sounded like a bunch of junior high school boys. By the end of the book, I could have cared less about all of the characters, especially Sophie and Phin.

Summary: Hysterical hit- I'm still laughing two days later
Review: This was my first Crusie novel and I am thrilled to finally find an author whose characters are so wonderfully flawed and real- no jet setters, business moguls, royalty, or models here, just average people in a small town. And at last an author who shows how bold, direct, and explicit women really are when they talk about sex (no coy cliches or modest implications in this novel)! The plot takes intriguing twists, the comedy never stops, the reliance on Dove bars for comfort is wonderfully human, the sex is hot, and the movie quotes keep you guessing. I read it in one night and laughed constantly. Highly recommend it.

Summary: Welcome to Temptation
Review: On a recent business trip in Milwaukee, WI I randomly chose this book in the bookstore so that I could have something to read on my flight back to Atlanta. A risk with an excellent outcome. I would have finished this book in its entirety if it weren't for the flight not being long enough. I now plan to read all of her books. Her characters are quite funny in nature and others quite controversial. A page turner for sure!

Summary: Perfection
Review: Welcome to Temptation has supplanted Cinderella Deal as my favorite Crusie. I raced through the book in one sitting, and now I'm looking forward to a more leisurely re-read to see what I missed. As to the sex that everyone's mentioning, I tend to skip most such scenes in other writers' books -- been there, done that -- but not in this book. The sex is integral to the story, just as it is to life.

Summary: What a hoot!
Review: I listened to the unabridged audio of this book, and the reader is wonderful! The personalities are distinctive, the dialogue snappy, and the images hilarious. I love this author, and although the profanity may be excessive for some folks, it's "right on" for these characters. A truly enjoyable listening/reading experience!

Summary: hats off
Review: What a great story -- it's fun, unpredictable, has a love story that will make you break into a sweat, the dialogue is wonderful, and it is not a slave to the conventions of genre romance-- in other words, top notch.

I found the author's straight forward use of language refreshing. No cliches, in word or deed. Phin is one of those characters you really wish did exist, so you could go find him and have a little talk on the dock under the stars, but then it would be hard to do that to Sophie, as she is a very believable and engaging character. My only concern is that the cast of characters is very large, and sometimes difficult to keep straight.

Summary: Boring
Review: This was my first Jennifer Cruise novel and will be my last. The writing wasn't sharp and the plot was contrived. Worst of all, while the sex was plentiful and well documented, it was boring! Romance novels can be much better than this.

Summary: WELCOME TO TEMPTATION
Review: I HAVE JUST FINISH WELCOME TO TEMPTATION AND IT WAS GREAT. IT WILL KEEP YOU UP ALL NIGHT. IT IS ALSO A KEEPER. I CAN NOT WAIT FOR THE NEXT JENNIFER CRUISE BOOK.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: I LOVED THIS BOOK!
Review: I HAVE READ ALL OF JENNIFER CRUSIE'S PRIOR BOOKS. I ENJOYED ALL OF THEM BUT THIS ONE IS BY FAR THE BEST. IT'S FUNNY, SEXY AND EMOTIONAL. READ IT!

Rating: 4 stars
Summary: Loved it, but not for the faint of vocabulary
Review: I really, really, really liked this book, but I had a problem with the deliberate crudity. I swear I'm not a prude, but the use of the "F" word every other line was very jarring. It would have been much more effective as a dramatic tool if it had been used more sparingly. For me, it crossed the line from bawdy to crass. I can handle the concept of deliciously naughty, but this was more like a rebellious teenager trying to shock a maiden aunt--it was cute the first ten times, then it became annoying. I thought last year's CRAZY FOR YOU was a much more full-bodied book with more admirable characters. I love to buy friends and family Jennifer Crusie hardcovers for Christmas, but I was dismayed to realize that I can't give this book to most of the people I know because of the language. This was really my only complaint because I loved the setting, loved the characters, humor, and snappy dialogue.
