Rating: Summary: You¿ll Welcome Temptation, too! Review: You can always count on Jenny Crusie to keep you laughing, and Welcome to Temptation is no exception. Her latest has the usual cast of zany small town characters - all of whom, my Ohio born and bred husband assures me, are quite true to life.Phin is the hero of every smart woman's dreams - sexy, caring, generous, and just plain nice. It takes Sophie a while to realize how lucky she is, but since we share her journey, that's not a bad thing. Throw in a dash of mystery, and all in all, it's a great read. I particularly enjoyed the movie quotes - they aren't all identified, which added to my fun!
Rating: Summary: Sexy Review: This book was excellent. I haven't enjoyed a book this much in a long time. The characters were interesting and the story line was very original. I must say I live in Manhattan and after reading this book, small town life sounds very tantalizing!
Rating: Summary: Welcome to Temptation Review: Sophie and Amy Dempsey come to Temptation, Ohio, from Cincinnati, trying to break out from their wedding-video business by filming a short audition tape to flog their ex-sister-in-law's dead horse of a film career. The sisters' sensitivity to their background goes into yellow alert the moment they drive into town. The first people they run intoare a stiff-necked city council member and his scatterbrained wife. Like most small towns, news blankets the area in about two minutes, and soon Temptation is abuzz with talk of the movie being shot in town. Phineas Tucker, unwilling third-generation mayor and loving, lonely single father. When his chief political rival suggests that the city pass an anti-porn ordinance, Phin knows he's in for trouble. He and the police chief visit the farm where the film is to take shape, and falls reluctantly into unrecognized love at first sight with the equally taken Sophie. While the mayor and the buttoned-up straight girl with a con's genes try to alternately fight and embrace their attraction, the town goes crazy over the movie shoot. Phin's mother, his mayoral rival, and the actress' estranged second husband all want the Dempseys and their movie out of Temptation. When one of the sprawling cast of characters dies suspiciously, it looks like Sophie's about to be betrayed by a town-boy yet again, and all bets are off. Crusie's prose is sexy and fun, and Welcome to Temptation might be a rewarding toe-dip into the pool of romantic escapism for readers who don't normally go for that kind of thing. The author doesn't flinch from writing good parts. As a result, the steam fits. Even better, good triumphs over evil and everybody who needs to be in love ends up that way. Welcome to Temptation is absolutely worth-reading.
Rating: Summary: what romance should be Review: This author can single handedly save the whole genre from sinking into the mire. A great love story, interesting characters, good complications, and great -- I mean great -- love scenes. Wonderful dialogue. Not a single "sensual" in the whole thing (show me a 'sensual' and I'll show you shlocky romance as in 'her sensual rain' - oi. Right up there with 'love stick'). Great stuff. Crazy for You is just as good.
Rating: Summary: Temptations....Hot, Hot Review: This book was teriffic. I couldn't seem to put it down. In fact, I finished it in one day. The book has almost everything a reader could want, a murder, movie stars, and above all great, teriffic sex. I did find Phin a little too sure of himself and his bedroom skills. I hate to admit it, but the perfect revenge was using him for ideas for the "porn" movie. I had to hand it to Sophie and Amy. I had aboslutely no idea what was going to happen from one page to the next. Jennifer Crusie has outdone herself with this novel. A true must read!
Rating: Summary: Welcome to Temptation - Welcome to Fun Review: Temptation, Ohio could be any small town in the mid-west. Add obviously loose females from the big city making a questionable movie and a bored Mayor up for re-election this year; and you have the basis for trouble. It has been so long since I literally laughed aloud while reading a mystery. With those hot Summer days almost here, I strongly recommend taking a few hours to indulge in a "hot" read to lift your spirits and libido. All I can say is that I spent too much time in the wrong small town, give me a road map to Temptation!
Rating: Summary: A good read that deals with sex and gossip in a small town. Review: "Welcome to Temptation" takes place in Temptation, Ohio, a small town in which good family values are considered critical in leading a decent life. However, there is more going on in Temptation than meets the eye. Two sisters, Sophie and Amy, visit the town, along with a returning actress, Clea, on a video assignment. After a while, the content of the video becomes pornographic. Meanwhile, the town council has recently put a law into effect that would forbid porn in videos. Mayor Phin Tucker and a police officer, Wes, visit the house where the women are staying to check up on things. Phin and Sophie eventually fall for one another, and so do Wes and Amy. There are many other different characters in this book, and a few become involved in love triangles. Eventually, big trouble brews in Temptation. Although I liked this book, I did not like it as much as "Tell Me Lies" and "Crazy for You". Some of the content was a bit out of hand. However, it was still a good read.

Rating: Summary: Delicious distraction while driving to and from work Review: Aasne Viqessa does a wonderful job narrating this delightful and delicious romp through smalltown virtue and family vice. The characters are a bit exaggerated and cartoonish but the relationship between Phin and Sophie is dead on and believeable. "Nothing but good times ahead!" with this audio rendition.
