Rating: Summary: Excellent Read for Kids & Adults (who are kids at heart!) Review: I really enjoyed this book. I read many books with my kids and for my own entertainment. This book filled both categories! I started reading it with my kids, but couldn't wait for them and had to read ahead. Most books have sections or pages that kind of drag on; this book contains only one dragon - and he was one of the main characters! Not one dull page!!
I have been suggesting this book to all my friends - over and under 18.
Rating: Summary: Dragon Lover(I'm gothic) Review: This is a great read - I loved it and so did my son, age 9. Thank you Ms. Funke!
Rating: Summary: Dragon Rider by Cornelia Funke Review: This was a truely wonderful book, although i must say it did seem to be lacking something that corneila funke had in her other two novels "The Theif Lord" and "Inkheart". Nevertheless it was well-written story with incredbible characters; settings; plot; and descriptions. Although i was suprised to find myself asking "What exactly is the point? Why am i reading this?" I wasn't exactly drawn into the story until later on in this hefty novel. Near the beggining it was more of a "Gah, i hope i finish this soon so i can read my other books" This book sat in my book drawer for a very long time. But, if you stick with it long enough it will provide you with an intruging story that is real enough to touch. The characters are priceless and i absolutely LOVED sorrel! Sarcastic, funny, and i loved her use of names of mushrooms as expressions and swear words! Ben is a sweet, lovable kid who you won't quickly forget. Firedrake is beautiful silver dragon that will reside in your dreams under the full moon. I really liked how she handled Twigleg, but of course i can't tell ya ^_~
All, in all this was a truely wonderful book and i reccomend givning it a try.
((caution: this might be a spoiler))
the only thing i really disliked about the book was Ben and Guinevere became brother and sister O_o that was just...wrong. Sorry cornelia but this is true with all of your books i don't think you could see romance if it fell out of the sky ^_~ (hehe no offense!)
