Summary: A Good Quick Read
Review: I have read most of Stuart Woods' books so I obviously enjoy them, but I must agree with another reviewer in that some are better than others. I found Orchid Beach fairly entertaining with some great characters, but the weakness in the book lies in it's ending. Just as you really get into the thick of it, it seems like Mr. Woods has something else to do and ends the book in one quick chapter.

A great book to read on a trip, but if your looking for a deep story to emerse yourself into...look elsewhere.

Summary: Another wonderful new character
Review: While I missed Stone Barrington the new detective was wonderful. It was nice to see him write a book from the view point of a woman police chief. The book kept me enthused until the last moment. I enjoyed the way she stood up to the others in the department and still was objective. I look forward to seeing the main character again in another story.

Summary: Glad I didn't pay much for this book
Review: because I love Stuart Woods' novels and this one is very disappointing. My favorite is "Santa Fe Rules". I honestly did not make it past Chapter 5 because I thought the Holly Barker character was so dull and mechanical that I could barely stay awake while reading. I thought the writing style was very mediocre and wondered if this was indeed the same Stuart Woods.

Summary: Great page-turner for vacation!
Review: I really liked the characters of this book. The cover is what got my attention and made me pick it up. Once I started scanning the first few pages, I couldn't put it down. I finished it within a week, and was glad to be on vacation to dedicate time to the action-packed events! Daisy especially needs more attention as she is very talented, and Holly is brutally honest and a hardnose when she needs to be. They make a great pair, as females who can stand up for themselves, yet be feminine at the same time. I look forward to a sequel! Holly's Dad proves to be her window to the past as a strong independent military brat, and her lawyer love interest allows for the sassy female to break through and make her realistic. Please .... when can we see them again!

Summary: Don't Bother
Review: Trust me the best thing about this book is the front cover. There are plenty of much better books on the market.

Summary: I've read better, but I've also read much worse.
Review: I still think Mr. Wood's best book has been "Chiefs". I've had varying success with his books, liking some, not liking others. This one I liked. It entertained me, the characters seemed reasonably intelligent, and they were likeable. It wasn't great literature but it wasn't meant to be. The story moved along well and the plot, though a little far-fetched, wasn't too bad. All in all not a bad read. Certainly better than sitting in front of the TV.

Summary: Fantastic new characters for Stuart Wood readers!
Review: I absolutely loved this book, especially with Holly and Daisy (her new found friend! ) What a great story. I hope Stuart writes another book with these characters in them. I could hardly put the book down! He had love, suspense, murder, intrigue and a happy ending!

Summary: Could not make this one last more than one sitting!
Review: This was a well-paced thriller that is almost impossible to not like. I admit that it did get a little slow half way through, but the slow part does not last long and picks up very quickly. It is a fast paced roller coaster that takes you through a lot of loops. The choice of characters is also well picked. I am only a teenager and I think that Woods is a master writer. He is by far my favorite writer. Adding Daisy to this book is also a good twist, and those of you that haven't read will have to, to find out who Daisy is. A good book, I highly recommend it!

Summary: Stank
Review: I bought the book just to read on a plane flight. It was a total waste of money. Woods has a choppy writing style that's about the level of elementary school. No charactor developement. Minimal description and about all the dog does is eat, poop in the yard and ride in the car. Not that I wanted something too cerebral on a plane flight but this book is so inane it's pathetic. I've learned my lesson... I'll pack a good book next time and never read Stuart Woods again.

Summary: loved the book
Review: I WONDERED IF THIS BOOK COULD BE AS GOOD AS THOSE FEATURING STONE BARRINGTON. I WASN'T DISAPPOINTED. I LOVED HOLLY AND DAISY AND ALL THE SUPPORTING CAST. I HOPE STUART FEATURES THESE CHARACTERS IN ANOTHER BOOK. ALTHOUGH STONE WILL ALWAYS BE MY FAVORITE, HOLLY AND DAISY ARE RUNNING A CLOSE SECOND. I RECCOMEND THIS BOOK TO ALL CUSTOMERS THAT COME INTO MY BOOK STORE.
