Summary: WELL , YOU DID IT AGAIN MR. HARRIS
Review: I really tried to take my time to read this book, but, as usual I could not wait to read what was going to happen to the "Dasterdly" Basil,"All about me" Yancy and "Devilish" Ava. I actually felt a little sorry for the fools. Mr.Harris is very good in capturing and holding his readers attention. It appears that this may be the end of this series for a while, but, whatever Mr.Harris writes...he will not disappoint.

Summary: Perfect for vacation!
Review: I was so happy to see that E. Lynn Harris was releasing his new book right as I was going on vacation (how did he know??!!)... and what a PERFECT vacation book this was! I couldn't put it down... started it one afternoon and finished it by the next morning. I must admit that after reading the last book, I was ready for new characters, but thankfully Mr. Harris didn't listen to me! It was a delight to read about the next chapter in Basil and Yancey's lives... and I actually now LIKE Yancey (I really didn't like the character previously!). This book is a must read... and I now anxiously wait for the next book.

Summary: AWESOME! e.lynn DOES IT AGAIN!!!
Review: E.LYNN does it again with this latest novel that takes REVENGE to a level only the most devious would be familiar with. The book proves to be quite exciting for both previous fans of Elynn's as well as newcomers to his ongoing novels. His writing style is consistently rich with just enough visual information to provide a bird's eye peek into the world of his characters. I love that the book's ending is positive on so many different fronts after a rollercoaster ride of revenge. THANK YOU!! THANK YOU E.LYNN for a nice journey to an intriguing and often misinterpreted world.

I bought the book the day it was released!!! Keep up the great work!

Summary: Wonderfully satisfying and entertaining...
Review: What more can I say? I can always count on E. Lynn Harris to write a story filled with interesting character, great dialogue, terrific detail, and a plot with twists and turns that keep me turning the pages all night long.

I don't want to give away the story, so I'll just say that if you want to follow up on the continuing saga of our old pals Basil, Yancey, Ava, Raymond, Nicole & Jared, Sean & Zurich, you won't be disappointed with this installment.

Mr. Harris, God bless your talent! All new writers (myself included) can benefit from studying the way you craft characters and intriguing story lines.

Summary: WE FALL DOWN
Review: we fall down should have been the title of this book...just like the song, the characters fall only to get back up again. Yancy, Basil and the newcomer Bart rise above their mistakes and try to undo their wrongs (only if we could get Ava to fill the same way, lol). this book was a true page turner with a lot of twist, turns and dips. im glad that things are ok with Basil and Yancy (it takes a strong person to forgive) and that they both find what they are lookin for. but what about Ava? what about Basil and Raymond? E.Lynn always leaves the fans wanting more......

Review: Well E Lynn does it again. Hey that rhymes! I love this guy! he has a great movie on his hands with these novels. I only hope someone is smart enough to purchase the rights. This book is excellent! He keeps you on the edge with these characters. I actually felt a little sorry for Basil. Can't wait for the next installment.

Summary: Bringing the Heat!
Review: Alas, Lynn has brought back the heat! Any Way the Wind Blows reminds me of the excitement I felt while reading Invisible Life. It is a mega-page-turner. He's taken the characters into a new direction of growth and maturity; one in which we all can relate and learn. And as far as the adjectives and descriptives go...well, just let me say that the Lynn that I'd grown to know through his works is definitely back! The scenarios are painted so vividly in your mind, it's as if you're watching TV. Any Way the Wind Blows definitely brings the heat!

Summary: I can't find the words....
Review: I can't find the words to describe the greatness of the novel. E.Lynn has done it again. I was literally lost within the book. I could not put it down. This is truly wonderful book. Oh my goodness, I am lost for words. By reading all of his earlier novels, I felt as if I new the characters on a personal level.Go Yancey! Basil,Now you know what love really feels like. Raymond, you are a great friend. I hope there is another book real soon.

Summary: For Entertainmnet Purposes Only
Review: There isn't much new in Harris' latest novel "Any Way The Wind Blows". Yancey and Basil return as central characters in a story that seems more like a feature from a tabloid gossip column than a piece of well crafted and creative literature. While Harris is certain to mention just about every popular African American music and movie star on the scene today, he fails to deliver any new insight with this novel. After reading his previous novels, this one seems like a collage of themes introduced in his earlier work. While I found his previous novels entertaining, just like any good gossip can be, I had a hard time, while reading this novel, getting past the feeling that I've heard this story before. The novel is filled with clichés and didactic in tone. Both of these literary faux pas diminish the story and oversimplify the plot. At times, it seems the characters are only devices for Harris to preach his views on relationships and the role sexuality plays in them. Often times, it's hard to discern if the characters are giving the author the dialogue, or if the author is putting his words in their mouth.

Although deceit, trickery, and unfaithfulness can provide the makings of a good novel, the author has to creatively blend the elements to produce the type of novel that both connects with readers and has literary merit. I'm sure the novel will satisfy the need to connect with readers and will no doubt be a bestseller; but it falls short on literary merit (which doesn't mean it's not an entertaining read). I hope Yancey, Basil, Raymond, and Ava will be laid to rest with this novel. I'm looking forward to new ideas and fresh characters in Harris' future work. He's told this story too many times.
