Rating: Summary: A Brilliant Addition to the Bride series Review: I always read the other reviews before posting my own and after reading some of the reviews I thought I must have been reading a differant book. In my opinion this book was brilliant and definitely the best of the Bride series. I will not go into the storyline because this has been done at length by other reviewers. All I can say is that I thought Tysen a wonderful hero, it was great to see his character change as he became enchanted with Mary Rose. For me Mary Rose was the perfect heroine, not in the least insipid as has been suggested and her love for Tysen just flowed through the pages of this beautifully written book. Lighthearted yes, not terribly complicated yes, an easy read yes, but this did not detract from my enjoyment of the book in the least. And Meggie, what to say about Meggie, she was an absolute joy. For me she made a good book into a great one. Her dialogue was brilliant a tribute to Ms Coulter's penmanship. I dont always like children in books because the authors have a tendency to make them seem either too old or too young for their years. But I think Catherine got it exactly right. The ending had me crying buckets, I think it was a glorious book. I can only hope that Catherine relents and gives us another Bride story. Meggie at eighteen would make a wonderful heroine, if only Catherine could find a hero good enough for her. Thanks for a wonderful book
Rating: Summary: Scottish Bride Review: I have been a Catherine Coulter fan for so many years. As far as I can tell I have all of her books. The Scottish Bride was a delightful surprise, I hadn't anticipated his story coming out. It always seemed that while Douglas, Ryder and Sinjun loved their brother, he was kind of the odd one out. I laughed all through the book. I was constantly amused at how surprised Tysen was that he was as passionate as his siblings. Only Ms. Coulter could take the prig of a brother and turn him into a passionate preacher. Showing all of us that God gave us faith and love and that the two mix very well. As another writer said when you mix sex and heart you get romance! Catherine, you've given great pleasure over the years and I can't wait for your next book, be it historical or contemporary. BEE
Rating: Summary: Another great Coulter novel---a great read! Review: I have read all of Catherine Coulter's novels and this is a good one. There is humour in it, as well as a good story to involve you. Once you have read enough romance novels you have to have more to a book than just the romance. This is one that does. It was very entertainging and I read it in an afternoon.
Rating: Summary: Happy for Tysen Review: I have read and reread the Bride series and love Douglas,Ryder, Sinjun and their families. I never quite understood what Tysen was about. Certainly, he was not as manly as his brothers! A pious snot you might say. This book does a good job of explaining Tysen (pretty much blames it on a cold first wife). The best part of the book is it updates us on the rest of the Sherbrooke clan and I love that. Sometimes it is hard to let characters go and I like the story to continue in other books. I especially enjoyed Sinjun and Colin's contribution to this book and Douglas has not changed a bit. Thank god! I enjoy Ms. Coulter's unique writing voice and have no complaints there. If I had to complain I would say she got alittle lost concerning Ian, the last male heir to die somewhat mysteriously. She left his character dangling with a brief allusion to his ghost visiting Tysen one night. I immediately thought Ian's ghost was going to join the other famous Sherbrooke ghosts but alas he didn't show. Too bad, I would have liked to hear from him. I did enjoy this book and am hoping (fingers crossed) that Ms. Coulter will give us the twin's story (grown up of course - Douglas and Alex's gorgeous sons who look more like her sister). I also think Ryder's daughter Jenny has a story (with Sofie's brother Jeremy perhaps). I must admit I like the CC historicals much better that her contempory books. PLEASE give us more (Vikings will do too).
Rating: Summary: Love the Sherbrookes Review: I just had to express my pleasure with this book. I am one who loved the other three books in this series. I am an avid romance reader. But these books are truly my favorites. This family is wonderful. Also, by bringing in Douglas and Alex, Ryder and Sophie and my favorite Sinjin and Colin was fabulous. I hope that everyone that read any of the others continues with this one. I truly hope Ms. Coulter writes more about this incredible family.
Rating: Summary: Delightful, Humorous, Romantic, Coulter's Best Ever Review: I love Catherine Coulter's historicals. This is one of the very best. This story is the fourth and last in the Sherbrooke Bride series. Tysen Sherbrooke, vicar, has just inherited a baronency in Scotland and feels he must inspect his property. He has been widowed for 6 years so he leaves his 10 year old daughter and two younger sons (or so he thinks) in the care of his brother Douglas and his wife Alex. But unbeknownest to Tysen his precocious daughter (who is utterly delightful)has disguised herself and his "tiger" and ridden in the back of the couch. She feels she must "protect" her father. Enter Colin and Sinjiin (Tysen's sister and husband) who live in Scotland. Tysen visits his property and meets Mary Rose Fordyce who, while running from a would be lover, injures her ankle. He takes her home to care for her ankle and things progress from this point. There are a host of "characters" and you will laugh your way through this book. It is utterly delightful, humorous, and sweet. I will not say more because it will spoil the book for you. You will not put it down until you have finished. Let's have more of these Ms. Coulter.
Rating: Summary: Great Book Review: I love reading Catherine Coulter and I am always eager to read a new book of hers. This book was good because it contained a lot of my favorite characters. It was enjoyable on how she talked about the lives of all of the brothers and sister years later. It still lacked a certain style that she includes in her work. By this I mean the wit and humor. It must be because Tysen was hard hard character to write about, especially since he was a vicar. Overall, the book was enjoyable and kept you entertained until the end.
Rating: Summary: Put this Bride Back on the shelf Review: I loved the original book "The Sherbrooke Bride". I have read all of the bride books and this is by far the worse. The only reason I have given this book two stars is because it lets us know what has become of our favorite characters. Otherwise, this book is a complete waste of time. If you want to be thoroughly entertained I suggest reading the first book which happens to be about Alex and Douglass. Skip the second for Ryder's story is so-so. I would then read Sinjun's search for love. It is very funny and captivating. Ms. Coulter generally writes really good books. She should have quit while she was ahead.

However when i started the book it wasn't exciting i kept on reading the book thinking it had to get better. The chracters never stood up for themselves and it seemed almost that they were letting things happen to them.I haven't even finished the book and am considering putting it the shelf. This is not one of the best catherine coulter's i have ever read and i love reading her books.
