Review: Summer Number Two finds the Sisterhood once again going everywhere.(...). From Kostos to the Pants not fitting Bee, the second volume in this girl-friendly series keeps you on the edge of your seat. Although the book is rather long, it is jam-pack full of amazing adventures and lessons from life. I have really enjoyed Anne Brashares's series thus far and hope that she continues writing. Although some materials are not appropiate for younger girls, I reccommend this book to teenage girls wherever they may be. It shows the struggles we go throuh as we continue to grow up and mature. Boys, divorced/remarrying parents, younger siblings, it's all here. I commend Ms. Brashares for writing such a wonderful sequal to a stunning first novel.

Review: The Second Summer of the Sisterhood is an AMAZING book. i was sad once i was done reading because i didnt want this great book to be over. Ann Brashares made the Characters seem so real with their different personalities and complicated lives. The whole time i was reading it i felt like i was sitting in a corner, watching everything happen. When Kostos broke up with Lena, i felt like i was almost as sad as i imagined Lena was. If you are looking for a book of truth, love, amazing experiences, and friendship then The Second Summer of the Sisterhood is perfect for you. I would also recommend that you read The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants fist, this one is equally as good as The Second Summer of the Sisterhood.

Summary: Sisterhood again!
Review: I read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants last year and I am afraid to say that this books just isn't as good. The plot this year is that Carmen has a problem about her mom and her new boyfriend, a bit similar to last year. She also has her own relationship problems staying home.
Tibby goes to college in Virginia. She makes a really mean film about her mom, but learns that popularity is less important than deep friendship, makes up with her mom and remembering her late friend Bailey.
Lena is heartbroken over her breakup with Kostos, and again realizing how much she loves him. Kostos visits her and is close to having sex with her, but it turns out that back in Greece Kostos is carrying another woman's child and "bes a getleman and marry her". Lena learns to go on, like her mother.
Bridget goes to Alabama on her own using the fake name Gilda and goes to her grandmother's house. She also digs up her Alabama memory and everybody else in it, and finds her own sporty self again. Bee finds out all about her family and her grandmother back.
It was a bit less exciting in the second sisterhood, but because they are all one year older, it carries a different "air".

Summary: The Second Dance for the Pants is Better Than the First
Review: The Second Summer of the Sisterhood, by Anne Brashares, is a book about one summer in the live of four teenage girls. Tibby, Bridget, Carmen, and Lena, otherwise known as the Septembers, do everything together and have been best friends all their lives. They all share an amazing pair of jeans that fits all of the girls. The book picks up at the beginning of the second summer that the girls use the jeans. You have to read the book to find out their crazy rules for the jeans like, they can NEVER be washed, and what happens to them this summer.
I liked this book because it is a heartwarming story of life, love, and friendship. You follow the girls through highs and the lowest of lows, to the end of their summer when they are reunited.
One thing that I did not like about this book was how slow the book seemed to got started, but if you stick with it you will be in for an awesome ride. The second summer is a sequel to The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I recommend that you need to read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants first because you might be a little lost when the second book begins, but you don't have to. Any female over the age of 10 would like this book. Happy reading!

Summary: Sweet and memorable
Review: This is a book to savor. It chronicles agonizing grief, tumultuous happiness, and all of the emotions in-between. What you must do is read it carefully - it's not that there is anything hidden between the lines, but that the words are poignant and perceptive, and the quotes touching. I particularly like the one that compares a pigeon to a dove, for it can relate on all levels.

What I find most attractive about this series is that the characters are all flawed and very believable. I've never gotten that sense from any other 'teen book' - and that includes the Inflatable Bra series, Gossip Girl, Angus & Full Frontal Snogging, etc. The sisterhood series is a more touching, more perceptive, and ultimately more realistic venture.

Of the four characters I'm particularly attracted to Bridget's story, and that's NOT just because we share the same name. :P Her depth is just appealing to me, and also her adventures. I can also relate to Carmen's anger and shame concerning her mother, though I feel distant from both Tibby's personality and her settings, and Lena's agonizing love.

As a sequel, this delivers. The beloved characters are revisited again, in a similar way but with different adventures. There are the same letters, same kooky nicknames, and same poignant observations.

However, there IS something that doesn't quite fit - the whole sudden focuse on mother. For instance, Tibby makes a cruel film about her mother, Carmen is jealous, angry, and sad, Lena confronts her mother about a past love, and Bridget explores her deceased mother's past. That's a little too 'cookie cutter'. Despite this, The Second Summer of the Sisterhood is a spacious, pleasing book that is perfect for rainy days under the covers.

Review: I read both The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and The Second Summer of the Sisterhood about a million times each! Both were awesome and some of the situations normal everyday girls could relate to. I would definately recommend The Second Summer of the Sisterhood because it gives valuable lessons that can be used in everyone's life. It also has things that would interest almost anyone: aports, boys, and gossip.

Review: After reading the first in this series, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, I was blown away. I thought to myself I must read more and ran to my local library to check it out. The intense emotion of this book captures each girls painfull situation. As the four girl set out on journeys in which their ultimate goal, which is not explained yet obvious, is to find themselves.

Carmen: Stuck in a situation in which she feels her and her single mother are growing apart because of her mothers new boyfriend; learns the right thing to do is to make others happy before yourself.

Bridget: Sets off to Alabama to her home that she lived in untill she was seven to learn more about her dead mother. While she is there Bridget uses a fake name, Gilda, and finds her old sporty self inside of her tired lumpy depressed new body.

Tibby: Goes to film school in Virginia and discovers how much the quality of friendship matters verse a friendship only for popularity. There Tibby also loses her fear of keeping her sadness from the death of her 12 year old best friend Bailey locked up inside her.

Lena: Breaks up with Kostos through letters then realizes how much she loves him. When Kostos comes to see her they get back togther again and get very close to having sex, although they do not. When Kostos leaves to Greece withought an explination Lena is depressed. Then she learns that after Kostos and Lena had breaken up, Kostos had dated a woman and had sex with her and he now carries her child so he is obligated to marry her. Lena also learns that the road to recovering from a break-up is a bumpy one but you have to move on.

Review: A truly amazing, and unforgettable book-

With a bit from last summer, the four girls again made me laugh and cry out loud. Bonded by a pair of cheap jeans, Carmen, Tibby, Bridget, and Lena share their experiences, conflicts, and emotions throughout the whole summer.

What was amazing was that Ann Brashares's way of writing was different and brought everything alive and vivid. The entire book was not so formatted and restricted on any form of writing style. Her writing made the reader, or at least I, feel easy and extremely comfortable. The book seemed as if it was "talking", and the story presented itself in a very casual way. Every detail, every little story, every message the four girls wrote, every little quote all came alive.

Each of the four girls differed in race, had their own unique personalities, and different problems, yet they connection so perfectly well together. The four girls were not only fictional characters in a fiction teen novel but lovable and realistic girls. Ann Brashares remarkably created the characters to seem so real and easy to relate to. Their problems, issues, and conflicts were all so real lifelike that it may happen to any average person, possibly even you or me.

When I first started to read this book, honestly, it was only because we had to find a book to read for a class. However, I couldn't stop myself from reading straight through when I laid my hands on the book. Not only did the interesting quotes from every chapter made the book interesting but also the author's ability. Ann Brashares is beyond doubt an incredible writer. This book is heart warming and, as I mentioned earlier, made me both laugh and cry out loud. In addition, I've learned a lot from this book, and most importantly as Ann Brashares had said, "Love your pals, and love yourself." The Second Summer of the Sisterhood touched me, and will stay with me perhaps, forever.

I strongly suggest this book to not only all teenage girls out there, but also to anyone (regarding both genders) who is up for a story that may possibly remain forever in one's heart.

Summary: Awesome! I loved it!
Review: The Second summer of the sisterhood was as good as the one before! Lena, Tibby, Bee and Carmen were supposed to spend the summer together but when Bee finds the letters her grandma Greta Randolph has been sending her for the last five years, the whole summer changes. Bee sets off to Alabama and Tibby goes to a filming camp. Carmen and Lena stay home.
The troubles begin when Carmen's mom finds herself a new boyfriend and Carmen is determined to ruin her fun. Lena finds herself wanting Kostos even more and when they meet... i won't tell you what happens afterwards. Bee wants to find her own self again and Tibby just can't make a movie about Baily cuz she doesn't want to think about it.

I loved Billy! I hope Bee forgot all about Eric cuz Billy is soooo cute!

Summary: Funny and Inspiring.
Review: This is one of my favorite books, and I liked it even better than the first one. Ann B. is a very talented writer, and the world she creates is very believable. I feel like I know Carmen, Tibby, Bee, and Lena, and I missed them when the story was over. This is a must read for any girl over twelve- it will give you some great insights and make you laugh and cry all at once. These books so inspired my friend and I that when I go off to college next year, we will have our own pair of traveling pants!
