Summary: Lahaye does it again
Review: This book like the others in the Left Behind series is a cliff hanger that pulls you in at the first page and still hasn't let you go even at the end. After reading the first six, I anxiously awaited the release of this book and I was not disappointed already looking forward to the next. If you have not started the series you are missing out! This book is so far the best in a great series.

Summary: By-the-numbers writing.
Review: I had glanced at some of the earlier entries in this series, but this was the first one I actually sat down to read. It reads like a movie script instead of a novel. The characters have no inner motivations other than worshiping God and obeying the plot laid down by LaHaye's interpretation of prophecy. Read Presumed Innocent. Rusty Savich is a complex character with a history outside the story. Jenkins give us... an Antichrist named Carpathia? A 24-foot bronze statue that "demands obedience"? An Israeli statesman who ponders a conversion to Christianity because the events predicted in the NT have come true? Well, if they did come true, a lot of people might consider converting, but the flaw in that argument is that the events didn't come true. The prophecy quoted by Matthew from Micah 5 says "One born in Bethlehem will rule in Isreal." Okay, when did Jesus rule in Israel? He didn't, except in some fictional works. What worries me is the people who think this series is describing a real event, what is actually going to happen. There isn't going to be a Tribulation. This is a work of fiction, based on an earlier work of fiction. And after a few hundred pages, I began to resent the (often spoken) assumption that non-Christians are going to be morally compelled to convert because the EVENTS are coming TRUE, just as the authors of the Bible predicted they would. It's like George Lucas asking young people to think about God, and then giving his "believers" the ability to levitate fighter jets and "cloud men's minds" with "old Jedi mind tricks." If the Force was real, a lot of people would believe in The Force. But don't ask me to believe because your fiction has a compelling and convincing internal logic. It is still fiction, not reality.

Summary: Gory!
Review: The most exciting book of the series so far! Lots of suspense, lots of action and lost of gory details! You must not wait to read this book.

Summary: WOW!
Review: The Indwelling is the seventh book for the Left Behind series and it is absolutely overwhelming in the excellence of the writing of this book. The authors keep you turning pages throughout the entire book. There isn't one single boring part in this book. You will not be disapointed with the continuation of Assassins. You finally find out who killed Carpathia, and what is happening with the dangerous situations the characters that watched the assassination. I eagerly wait for the next book, The Mark, coming out on Nov. 14 this year.

Summary: ANOTHER SOLID STORY
Review: Another solid chapter in the Left Behind series. . . bought it at lunch, half way through already. . . can't wait for the next book.

Summary: Disappointing to say the least
Review: Is it just me or is everyone constantly on the run in this book? I found it tedious to read with so little satisfaction as an end result. The ending was the predictable cliff hanger that was hinted at throughout the book. In fact, I found myself speed reading through some of what we've seen plenty of in past installments of this series...being chased, being caught, being chased some more...evading the pursuants..etc... I hope the rest of the series picks up speed since I am fast losing interest!

Summary: Tim and Jerry do it again!
Review: These authors have done it again! They've written an absolutely incredible book that does an excellent job of picking up where Assassins left off. It also leaves you anticipating the next book in the series. The continuing character development is great as you see Rayford, Chloe, Buck, Chaim and others deal with the events around them. I whole-heartedly recommend these books for anyone!

Summary: INDWELLING WILL BE MOST EXPLOSIVE BOOK YET!
Review: Indwelling is about 70% complete. We are still shooting for a release date of May. Indwelling jumps right back into where we were left off in The Assiasians. This book will reflect a little different of a style then what you may be used to. It kicks off the second half of the series being book 7 of 12. Keep checking for a Pre-Release review and the release of the 1st chapter. WWW.leftbehind.com

Summary: A LOOK AT THE NOVELS OF REVELATION
Review: I am a very big fan of novels that deal with the Biblical Apocalypse and, with so many different types, thought it would be worthwhile to give an overview of the ones I have read.

Left Behind, by Tim Lehay- The series that started it all. These novels are, in truth, somewhat boring, but it covers the bases with a depth that none of the others do, probably owing to the fact that there are so many of them. They lack character development and deep theology, but are a fun, if shallow read

The Christ clone Trilogy by James Beauseigneur- Well written novels that focus on the scientific and political. Tom Clancy meets Left behind is not too far off the mark. I greatly enjoyed these books although I felt a little let down by the ending. Overall, a good political take on the End.

We All Fall Down by Brian Caldwell- Certainly the most controversial of these novels. The focus here is the individual and why someone would ever in their right mind reject salvation. Very brutal, although probably more realistic, in its depiction of the End. This is certainly not a book for the timid, but for the rest, I found it the most intelligent, well written, and, oddly enough, spiritual of the bunch. It's hard to walk away from this book with feeling to need to take a fresh look at one's own relationship to Christ.

Blood of Heaven, by Bill Myers- These are intelligent, character focused novels. I found the theology again to be a little weak, but really enjoyed following the distictive characters.

The Last Gentile Trilogy by Cary Bybee- Better written than Left Behind, but lacking the scope of that work. Like conquest of Paradise or Christ clone, it it based in science, but perhaps too much. Not enough religion for my taste.

Summary: Momentary Lag in the Series
Review: I've completed the series Left Behind. Although The Indwelling is a necessary bridge into the next volume, the action in this volume seriously "put the brakes" on the momentum of the rest of the series. It's a must read for those wanting to keep up with the series but be prepared that it is not the page turner that you are expecting. Fear not, the momentum picks up again with the next book.
