Rating: Summary: The Longest Three Days Review: Up until this book, I considered this one of the best series of books I had read in a long time. Since the "Who shot J.R." ending of the of the last book I have been waiting for the next in the series to arrive on the shelves. The one thing I have enjoyed in the other books of this series is the link to scripture and how it supports the writers interpretation of end times. This books did not flow with that same biblical support. Tsion having an out-of-body experience was really a stretch for the way he had used his wisdom and faith in earlier books. If the rest of the books in the series only cover three days each, it seems to me the authors are interested in making a great deal of money. I will buy the next book out, but if it is not written with the same passion as the first six books, it will be the last I buy.
Rating: Summary: The Indwelling Review: As many of you have also done, I waited for months to read this next addition to the Left Behind series. While I found the "action" to be somewhat lacking, the book flowed very nicely. To make the prophetic facts seem more real to me, I enjoy keeping my Bible next to me and looking them up as they occur. One important thing to remember about this series is that it is FICTION based on FACT of what will happen when our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ comes again to claim his children. You can make fun of the characters as much as you want to, but what would any of us do who were put in the same situation? This is a battle of good vs. evil; if you lose, you die. While dying as a Christian means eternity in heaven, I can't think of anyone who actually looks forward to death. During the tribulation, the only two things that will matter will be witnessing for Christ and survival. I praise Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins for their lifelike casting of the Trib Force. Here are perfect examples of sinners, just like me, who were saved by putting their faith and trust in Jesus Christ. The authors are not afraid to make the characters human, like Rayford and Chloe. Both had strong, sinful desires that show them for what they are -- sinners saved by grace. I can't wait until this fall to read the next book. Hopefully, Jesus will return before then and we, who are truly born again, can leave this old world behind. I also highly recommend Are We Living in the End Times. This is written by the same authors. If you are like me, this book will send chills up your spine when you see how close we truly may be to the rapture! Hopefully, it will spur you as it did me to be a better witness for Christ!
Rating: Summary: Disappointing Review: After waiting so long to continue the saga of the Tribulation Force, this book was a MAJOR disappointment! I unfortunately think Mssrs. Lahaye and Jenkins are milking this very compelling story. By the time we find out who killed Nicolae, we have plowed through half of the book without really garnering any new information or inspiration. Finally, with a handful of pages left, Nicolae returns to life only to let down the reader. This crucial occurrence is sorely underdeveloped and rushed! All in all, this book is a complete yawner. I hope the authors get back to writing books that made this series so successful in the first place.
Rating: Summary: Give us more... Review: I have read all 7 of the Left Behind series as well as the 8 Kids editions. After waiting months for this book, I was a little disappointed at the short period of time it covered. Basically, only 3 days. Since we already knew what was coming, (based on the title, if nothing else) it was a let down to have it end where it did. The other books left us hanging with the "who did that"s and the "what's going to happen next" cliffhangers. This book ended differently, with a sort of "well, we know something is going to happen" but it didnt seem to leave me with the hunger for the next book... not enough leading into the next, making the mind work angles, etc. like the other books have. As far as a series, this is the best I have read in a long time. And there is something for everyone... danger, suspense, mystery, dischord, harmony, longing... and it brings to light a unique way to look into the book of Revelations. What a wonderful way to spread the Faith!
Rating: Summary: Thank You for the Eye-Opener Review: All I can say is if this is any way that the Real tribulation will be THANK THE GOOD LORD THAT I AM SAVED! and I will be gone in the twinkeling of an eye. I pray that anyone who does not want to go through the real tribulation please, please ask JESUS to forgive you of your sins and to save you. Then find a good bible beleiving and preaching church. God Bless!
Rating: Summary: GOOD...BUT WITH ONLY FEW DAYS COVERED Review: The latest in a wonderful series picks up just before the ending of Assassins...wondering who shot Nicolae? Well written and the story keeps you engrossed the whole time. Plenty of biblical references and prophecy...such as old men dreaming dreams...Joel 2:28. Revelation Chapter 12 and the first part of 13 are covered...with Leon looking more like the False Prophet. The only problem that I had with this book is that it covered only several days. Per previous reviews...Tim and Jerry are going to have to cover almost 3 1/2 years in the next 5 books. Looking forward to "The Mark" in November. Last part of Rev. 13. How far will this take us into the Great Tribulation?
Rating: Summary: Still Hanging In There Review: I have enjoyed the Left Behind series for a couple of years now. I have received a great deal of spiritual growth in that they have lead me to study the book of Revelation. I too thought it was a little slow paced, and then rushed toward the end. I will continue to read the books, but I wish the authors would pick up the pace a bit.
Rating: Summary: This is highway robbery Review: I agree with all those that thought that this book was a review of all the preceding books. I could have visited Barnes and Nobles, Sam Wholesale or any other bookstore and spent 30 minutes reading the last couple of pages. That's where the story of the book should have started. This book was a BIG let-down. The opening chapters should have been on the body of Nicholae coming back to life and the person responsible for his death, not how everyone was trying to get away. For the next book, I'll wait for the reviews. And will someone please tell me the page number to start reading?
Rating: Summary: As good as the first book in the series! Review: The Indwelling was great! I read it in two days, and it was as good as the first several in the series. The last couple seemed a little rushed, but this one was awesome. It was action packed and had a few surprises also! I can't wait for the next one, but I hope the writers take their time with it and do as good a job on it as they did on this one! To God be the glory!
Rating: Summary: Disappointing, Sluggish, & Lack of Suspense Review: I have read all 6 of the LEFT BEHIND series, and waited on a reserve list at my library for THE INDWELLING months before it was published. If it was like its predecessors, I knew it would be a quick read with lots of action and global intrigue. When I got it, I almost mis-took it for a Large Print book; once I started to read it, I understood why. It didn't take much writing to fill in the action which takes place over a week-end, and the large print must have been needed to fill in 300+ pages, perhaps to justify the hardcover publication and price. I found THE INDWELLING to be a disappointing read: convulted action (when there was any), superficial character development, same old (same old) problems facing the Tribulation Force...in some places, it was actually boring! How can elements describing the Book of Revelations be boring? The only bright spot was the addition of Tsion's dreams, where he meets the Archangels Michael and Gabriel...totally refreshing! I wish there had been more of the same. To Mr. LaHaye and Mr. Jenkins: we already know the storyline; just sweep us along at a faster pace, with characters we care about, and with the Biblical teachings as a basis for the action and its consequences. We faithful followers will do the rest...
