Summary: uplifting and reassuring
Review: I bought this book looking for experiences that mirrored one that I had a few years ago. I thoughly enjoyed reading about angel experiences that other people have had. However; I found some of sylvia's explanations and theories a little hard to swallow. Thankfully this in no way dimmed my enjoyment of the book, after all everyone is entitled to thier own beliefs. Overall I found this book a positive and joyful read.

Summary: is the author a dark entity?
Review: I couldn't read but a few pages at a time, because of the tears flowing down my cheeks. This book touched my heart so deeply that I will be forever changed.

This book is more than just a nice story about Angels....this book lets us feel the Angels close to us. I have since tried talking to my Angels each day....there aren't words to describe what I am getting in return....I will try....miricles when I ask them to be near......how about loved! Also, I am getting answers to questions just by talking to them....I do believe in the golden strands that grow when we communicate. I saw Sylvia in Indianapolis, and knew right away that she was the real deal.

Summary: is the author a dark entity?
Review: I got smart this time and waited to get this book at the library and I am happy I did not waste my money or help this woman profit any more. It does give some good information about angels but I am tired of Sylvia coming across as an authority on every metaphysical subject out there. I am also tired of continuously wasting my money on her books when I have already read all her concepts in other author's books so that I feel like I am going back and repeating first grade. This will be the last book of hers I read.

This book also strangely reminds me of Doreen Virtue's "Angel's Among Us" as well as some other books I have read on the subject of angels, but pales in comparison to any of them. I have noticed over time that Sylvia always comes out with a book similar to content that some other more experienced author in any given field has already wrote. The difference is the other author's do not write with such a 'self-centered narrow point of view' style. Sylvia seems to worship one thing about all else, herself. Normally this is a good thing but there is a fine line between self-love and narcissism.

Her stating that people without a guardian angel are dark entities is enough for me. Thankfully I have read enough other books on this subject that I have some inkling of what she is actually talking about, unfortunately Sylvia has not read enough on the subject herself nor has the ability to be trying to convey it to others. But yet again Sylvia gives us a book claiming to know so much when in reality she knows little to nothing. This pattern is becoming redundant. Many people reading this book might gain some comfort, granted, but many more will start questioning the value of goodness in people that can't connect with their guardian angel. For many people this book could lead to more confusion rather than clarity on this subject and have you questioning those near and dear to you. It is best leaving this topic up to more experienced and learned authors to lament on.

I have believed all my life in angels and have encountered much proof of them through my life. I am sure that anyone looking to purchase this book have similar experiences. Trusting those angels and my own intuition would serve me better than ever trusting most of what Sylvia says in this book to be true. The book has truth in it and information, but it is information already researched and strived for by other less 'famous' authors. What gives this woman the right to take their effort and rewrite it in her own words and call it her own? I guess people that continue to buy her books give her that right.

I can see now why so many people dislike Sylvia and maybe it is because they intuitively recognize she is one of the dark entities she seems to have so much knowledge of? Isn't a dark entity egotistical, self-centered, driven to manipulate and mislead people, feeds off of other's energy and strives to deceive? This sounds like a perfect description of Sylvia herself when you start to pay really close attention to her life and her writings. People defend this woman saying that if she were doing it for the money she has enough to retire happily forever. But money is only a secondary reward in doing what she does. She feeds off the energy that innocent seekers unwittingly give her by supporting her. It is called power! That is what keeps this woman craving the spotlight. Wake up people, trust your own angels and guides. That uneasy feeling you get about Sylvia Browne is real. Don't defend her because you want to believe she is good. Like she says herself, some people are just dark entities.

I do not recommend this book at all and suggest you read Doreen Virtue or Ron Rhodes or Joseph Night. All these authors have written a book called "Angels Among Us" and all three of these books will give you all the comfort you seek without the questions to confuse you more.

Summary: Fascinating Look at Angels
Review: I have always felt there were angels among we "earth-dwellers" and this book among countless others already written would prove this. Sylvia describes the various "levels" of angels, pointing out that no "group" is really "better" than any other, just that each level has their own purpose. Sylvia also includes letters she has received from people describing their "angel experiences." After reading them, I now realize more than ever that indeed I also have had a handful of these experiences. The book's first chapter even features an "Angel Chart" describing each type of angel. Subsequent chapters describe the different types of angels, and there's even a "frequently asked questions" chapter near the book's end. Another nice touch are the meditations at the end of each chapter, everything from healing, protection, dealing with troubled times to asking angels to surround you.

There are those who don't believe in angels, which is fine. But when you see angels of some kind or another in all walks of life, you have to believe that somehow they are with us. This book affirms that angels are among us.

Summary: It was interesting...to a degree
Review: I have read a few of Sylvia's books and seen her on TV some. I guess I am somewhat an open minded skeptic. I agree with some of what she says, a little of her stuff is a little far fetched for me. I can't stomach or concieve all of the other religions out there, the way they portray God or you have to be saved or do this or that or you will go to hell. This book was interesting to a degree. The thing that bothered me I guess was this is the first time I have EVER heard Sylvia speak about dark entities. How the heck do you know who is or isn't. Since I have never been able to "contact" an angel, spirit guide or anything she tries to teach us to do, does that mean I am a dark entity? I have since reading the book read and listened to other books by her . One about her life story and the way she portrays her mother is like everyone's mother. Yet when her mother died she says it was not a loss, and then she says her mother was a dark entity!!!!!! Yet I have seen nothing(am I missing a book with more info?) which what made her mom or anyone else a dark entity, an explanation. Sylvia adores her father, yet from what I have read, her father did more wrong than what her mother did!! Anyway, the book was ok, If you are curious and interested in angel's than I do suggest reading it.

Summary: There are truly Angels among us!
Review: I have read all of Sylvia's books and I am a study group coordinator with Sylvia's Journey of the Soul study program. The study books we use go into more detail as a rule than the over the counter books, but not with this one. Sylvia has continued to compile research on a subject that interests many and is now sharing this with everyone.
Sylvia uses her typical style that so many love, to write a book that is easy to understand and filled with beautiful illustrations by Christina Simonds.
My favorite part is a chart of Angels. I have book marked this for quick reference to the phylum. The chart also has information such as what that phylum of Angels purpose and function is. I don't want to give anymore away as to the chart, because I enjoyed reading it myself for the first time.

Thank You Sylvia for all the time and research you have done to put together this beautiful book!

Summary: Angels On My Shoulder
Review: I picked up Ms. Browne's book when I was Teacher Assistant for a class on the film version of "Angels in America" at my church; never imaging what a I would gain by using Sylvia's book as a personal, supplemental text. Sylvia again gives inspiring spiritual wisdom is her straightforward understandable, enjoyable style. I never realized the different Phyla of Angels, and how each group of angels has a different purpose, function and different wing tips to symbolize their mission. Artist Christina Simonds' beautiful illustrations alone are worth the cost of the book. I think this book would inspire the most devout non-believer.
