Summary: "The Drew Review"
Review: Nancy Drew books have always been known as the number 1 mystery books, I agree. The Hidden Staircase leaves you suspensful and hanging. I would recommend ages 5-15 to read this book. Nancy is a teenage slew who lives a life of a detective and a teenager at the same time. She goes on a date then hears she has case to solve. This mystery is of The Hidden Staircase. Two old ladies claim to have a ghost living in their house, so they want Nancy to solve that mystery. At the same time her father has been kidnapped. So as you can tell, this story leaves you hanging and wondering if Nancy will pull through with all of this. If you read the book you can see what happens.

Summary: Buy the true original version, not the rewritten version.
Review: The Applewood originals are far superior and are highly recommended by most Nancy Drew afficionados. This book is one of the best! The story is almost mythical in style with Nancy saving her Father, Carson, from a Tower!Fast-paced and intriguing, a truly exciting story. As for the racial stereotypes, they can be maddening. I had to keep reminding myself that times were different. The characterizations were a bit obvious, but after all, this is a children's series written in a time before race issues were hammered out.

Summary: The Hidden Staircase
Review: The Hidden Staircase was a great book. It was exciting and sad at the same time. It made you want to read it over and over again because it is so good. I do think that that could have been more action because there was a little to much talking in it. I'm not one to really enjoy mysteries and this book gave me a whole new perspective of these kinds of books. I gave it 4 stars, again for the lack of action (not that there wasnt any but it neede more). I fully believe that every girl should read the Nancy drew series, they are so good every time you read it you never want to put it down. Every word keeps you on the ege of your seat.

Summary: Read this book today!!!!
Review: The original Nancy is back! A sixteen year old, spunky heroine made popular in the 20's and 30's, she was sadly watered down in the 60's when the stories became severely edited. I discovered both versions eleven years ago when I was just eight years old, and the original 20's/30's versions have been my personal favourites ever since. In this book Nancy positively sparkles, trying to come to the aid of her kidnapped father as well as helping two elderly ladies solve a mystery in their own home. The relationship between father and daughter is extremely touching, and an element sadly neglected in all later versions of the series. A true delight to read and a treasure to rediscover again and again; although speech is at times somewhat old-fashioned, the story and its heroine are charmingly timeless, proving once more that a true classic never goes out of style.
